  • Spectacular Honeymoon

"My husband and I honeymooned to the Brac in December, and we were so impressed with Featherstone! Minnie has truly created a personal paradise on the island. The cottage itself is situated on a property that also include's Minnie's home and a downstairs guest apartment that is also a rental property. My husband and I never felt as though we were anything but alone here at Featherstone, however. We only saw Minnie a few times during our week stay, and she was always respectful of our privacy. The cottage is further back than Minnie's home, but it is still only steps from the ocean. We always felt like we had the beach to ourselves when we were spending time there. Minnie has done a great job with different areas for relaxation. There are two gazebos on her beach, each with two hammocks (great for a midday nap!). There are also several beach and lounge chairs for sunbathing. Cayman Brac is a rocky island, but Minnie's beach is one of the nicest we saw during our exploration. The beach is sandy and a bit rocky, but it is not the iron shore that is seen on the majority of the island. Wear water shoes! The kitchen and living room were the perfect size for us. The bedroom is very beachy-feeling and so comfortable! There is a private deck off of the bedroom which is where the hot tub is currently, along with a table and chairs. We spent almost every night in the hot tub stargazing with homemade piña coladas or daiquiris. The deck no longer has the stairs that come down to the ground-level, as seen in the photo, but we liked it that way - it felt more private! Behind the cottage is a private patio area with a grill, table and chairs, and a hammock. Minnie made sure that we were very comfortable during our stay. For the first few nights the island was extremely windy, and our power went out to the upstairs at one point. We didn't notice too much because we were gone most of the day, but Minnie called an electrician and the problem was fixed quickly! There is air conditioning in the cottage that we used on occasion, and it was very comfortable and cooled the home quickly. Overall we loved Cayman Brac and our little cottage at Featherstone! The island is small enough that there isn't much nightlife, but there are plenty of restaurants. If you're looking for an adventure, this island has great hiking, snorkeling, diving, and fishing, and lots of cool history (with no shortage of ways to lounge around). :) Thanks, Minnie! Can't wait to come back!"

  • Couldn't ask for more!

"As we prepare to leave the Brac tomorrow, it will be with wonderful memories of both the Brac AND Secluded Sunsets. We could not have asked for a more perfect arrangement! Sasha met us at the airport, along with the rental car she and Henry helped to arrange, and it was perfect from there on out! We had 3 days of diving with Brac Scuba Shack (which we also endorse highly), 3 days of snorkeling, 1 day of caving and bluff exploration and several days of watching amazing sunsets from the seclusion of the west end of the island. The best review I can give is this -- Everything you read about Secluded Sunsets, Henry & Sasha is absolutely accurate. There are no unfortunate surprises. The property and all its amenities and service options are legitimate, and we accessed every one. The pool, cabana, kayaks, hammocks, grill, smoker, movies, w/d, Sasha's amazing cooking & bartending skills, and special relationships with local providers of other services. The houses are clean & neat, well-equipped with everything from linens and laundry detergent to books, games and movies. There is a reasonable supply of seasonings and staples in the kitchen and enough utensils to prepare full meals and frozen drinks. Secluded Sunsets is as perfect as it seems, and you will not be disappointed!"

  • Caribbean paradise

"It's been a few weeks since we left Cayman Brac, I find I struggle to find words to do justice to the charm, beauty and warmth of this Caribbean paradise. We spent 2 weeks in your beautiful home, it truly felt more like a lifestyle than a vacation, you really make Tropical Run-A-Way feel like being home than a vacation rental. Photos can't do justice to the property, its really something you have to experience and it is in our opinion the best location and property on the Island. Everything we needed was there, you really have thought of everything, even a supply of books to exchange when I ran out. The wrap around veranda always gives you choice of sun or shade, the pool shades came in handy during the hot afternoon. We wanted a relaxation vacation and your property was the perfect place for that, the biggest decision of the day was which spot to lounge, the cabana, the hammock, the veranda or the pool. I wondered if being close to the airport was going to be a problem, it was definitely not intrusive at all, you hardly even notice it. The property has good separation from the house and the cottage so even when sharing the property there is lots of privacy. Thanks for the tip on renting the car, it helps to get out and about and see all the island. The island itself may not have the shear beauty of Turks white sand beaches and turquoise water, but Brac has a natural beauty of its own and the people who live there are what really sets this island apart. Every time we walked or drove down the road, people would wave as we passed, everyone was friendly, so interesting to talk to, they really make you feel welcome. It was a nice change, no crowds, no vendors pushing Time share brochures in your face or on the noisy beach vendors selling wares, just us and the hermit crabs. The island has very good drinking water and everywhere we ate we had great food. Shout out to Cesar and crew at Captains Table, we had the best lobster dinner we've ever had and the Super Bowl party was so much fun. The island is very safe, clean, and you just can't beat the weather. We don't dive, but met lots of people who dive, so I think we'll put that on the bucket list. We were looking for a place to have a family vacation so we'll be coming back next year with the kids and grandkids, we can't wait to return. We haven't stopped talking about what a great vacation we had and how much we loved our time there."

Cayman Brac Resorts Offer Access to an Underwater Heaven

The Caymans are widely hailed as one of the world’s top dive sites. The 100-foot plus visibility, warm ocean temperatures and magnificent coral reefs are just a few of the attractions. The rich marine life, impressive walls and wrecks scattered in the shallows complete the perfect dive destination. Here, the diving is not limited by the number of sites; rather it’s only the need to re-oxygenate your body that will keep you out of the water. You can also take the opportunity to advance your diving certification by doing specialty dive courses with one of the local dive schools during your stay. The wreck of a Cuban naval frigate was sunk off the north west coast is 1996 and is already an impressive artificial reef.

For those not comfortable with donning scuba gear, snorkeling offers a great alternative. Be sure to lather up with loads of sunscreen as once you’re in the water, you’re likely to stay there for hours on end. Brightly colored corals and millions of reef fish swirl around you in a magical dance.

The Caymans are also known as world-class sport fishing islands. Charters that take you out to the deep blue waters can easily be arranged from the marinas on Cayman Brac. Visitors are asked to respect the marine park restrictions and to not waste marine resources. Certain areas on the island are protected and charters will generally take you far away from these areas. However, if you are fishing on your own or from the shore, be sure to familiarize yourself with the marine park boundaries and regulations.

Enjoy Nature Trails on Cayman Brac

The island has some dramatic and very beautiful landscapes. On the eastern side of the island, there are nature trails that follow the coastline long the bluff. Bird watching and spectacular views will keep you entertained as you meander along. Other interesting places to visit are the impressive caves on Cayman Brac. Rebecca’s Cave, Halfway Ground Cave and Peter’s Cave are famous as being hurricane shelters for local residents. Exploring the cave interiors is fascinating and loads of fun.
