  • Fantastic Choice for an East End Stay

"My family just recently stayed at Ken's condo for a short two night stay and wish we had stayed there our entire trip (unfortunately it was already booked for the dates we needed). This was a FANTASTIC rental with everything we could possibly need. The place was immaculately clean as if no one had ever stayed there, TVs in the bedrooms, wifi, kayaks, snorkels, and much more. Very cool being right on the ocean and the views are amazing. Thank you, Ken!!"

  • Even better than advertised!

"My wife, teenage daughters, and I planned a last minute trip to Grand Cayman, and after extensive research, decided on Pappagallo Beach Condos. The location was ideal for our purposes – we were looking for a two bedroom condo w/full kitchen, nice pool, good beach access and convenient to West Bay for SCUBA w/ CTD) The owner was extremely prompt answering our questions, and arranged for an island “greeter” to meet us shortly after arrival. “George” was very pleasant, and walked us through the unit, and the Condo grounds. The pictures posted of the unit we stayed in don’t really do it justice – the condo was in immaculate condition, and the owner thought of just about everything you need/want as a short term vacationer. The “basic” cooking essentials were already in the kitchen, including spices, cooking oil, etc., along with coffee filters, and a starter bag of coffee (especially important since we landed on Easter Sunday when all of the stores were closed). There were plenty of towels, spare linens, beach toys, board games (Othello was a hit), cards, etc. The condo is the top two floors of a three story building; you walk up a short flight of stairs to the main level, which had a kitchen, large living room, dining room, and two decks (off the living room, and the dining room). The upstairs had bedroom with 2 twin beds, full bathroom, and a huge master bedroom with a king size bed and private bath. The master bedroom had a large deck facing the ocean. Both decks had absolutely incredible views of the ocean, and the pool area. The condo grounds were immaculate; we saw George, and the other condo staff working every day to ensure that even the stray fallen leaves were picked up – and they pressure washed the deck leading out into the ocean. The beach is right outside the pool area, and leads to an area of ocean protected by a reef about ¼ mile out. The water is quite shallow – even at the end of the dock, it’s only about 4 feet deep. My wife and I swam out to the reef several times (w/snorkel gear); although it’s a long swim over a mostly barren plain, it’s worth it – the reef is stunning, with lots of fish, hard/soft corals, sponges, lobsters, etc. Pappagallo is in a fairly secluded area – there is really only one restaurant within walking distance and everything else was within a 5-10 minute drive. You'll want a car. Negatives? We'd be hard pressed to come up with any."

  • A Fantastic Place to Stay in Grand Cayman

"My wife, daughters (aged 9 and 6) and I stayed here for one week in February 2015, and we had an amazing time. The condo, located on beautiful Seven Mile Beach, exceeded all of our expectations; it was spacious, clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday, including a large ground floor patio with a great view of the beach. Speaking of the beach, it was amazing, and perfect for our kids. The water was calm and fairly shallow, so needless to say we spent a lot of time in there! The condo complex is terrific, with an excellent pool and swim-up bar, a hot tub and a shallow pool for younger kids. The on-site restaurant was also very good. The condo is conveniently located within walking distance of a number of excellent restaurants and a large grocery store. We would highly recommend this property to anyone, and we will definitely book again!"

  • Idyllic Beach away from the Madding Crowds

"The Heritage Club was perfect for our family (with teenagers) holiday. As a first time to the Cayman's we wanted to hit the main tourist spots, dive, snorkel and just relax. This condo provided exceptional access to all of this and more. Unit 19 is very comfortable and well maintained. It has a very well appointed kitchen to allow meals to be prepared in or take a short drive to some excellent restaurants. The screened balcony is brilliant for sitting out in the evening with a light on to read or visit. it also works great for the few minutes at sunrise and sunset a few bugs come out. The complex is a perfect size to allow for creature comforts and still be small enough to strike up conversations with visitors and owners alike. The units and grounds are perfectly maintained thanks to the resident manager and his fantastic staff. You feel guilty walking on the freshly raked beach or use the sparkling clean BBQ. You may get the occasional person walking past from another complex nearby otherwise the beach is virtually yours to enjoy. The complex may not be for a young family who wants to run and scream all day at the pool or around the grounds, but if they are well behaved and just having fun like two young families that where there at the same time as us, you will be well accepted. The beach is perfect just as the pictures show. The dive company we dove with had a private dock 3-5 minutes to the north and the dive sites on seven mile beach are only minutes away. The Heritage Club and the Cayman's alike get very high reviews from all of our family. We hope to return soon."

Grand Cayman Travel Tips

Get Away to Grand Cayman

When planning a tropical getaway, one of the first places that comes to mind is the Cayman Islands, perhaps Grand Cayman in particular. The Cayman Islands are nestled in the calm, crystal blue waters of the Caribbean. Just three small islands comprise the great Cayman Islands: Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, and Cayman Brac. All this glory and wonder is located just 480 miles south of Miami so it really is not that far away!

Getting to Your Grand Cayman Getaway

Grand Cayman travel is not as hard as you may think. A flight from Miami is just over an hour which means you can get to the Cayman Islands in virtually no time, especially if you live on the eastern seaboard. As you book your travel plans, regardless of your origin, it is good to know that the best airport to fly into is Owen Roberts International Airport, located on Grand Cayman. Every week there are almost 60 flights going into the Caymans which means your travel plans can be made to fit in with your busy lifestyle.

Activities for Your Grand Cayman Vacation

No matter your age, you will find plenty of activities to keep you busy while staying in Grand Cayman resorts. A Grand Cayman vacation is perfect for the entire family. The shared fun and experiences you will have really sets this destination apart from other tropical settings. While you can have plenty of fun in the sun on Seven Mile Beach, there are lots of new things to try as well. Grand Cayman is known for it scuba diving and underwater adventures. Both experienced divers and first-time snorkelers will have countless opportunities to get up close and personal with the deep blue sea. Check out Stingray City or shipwreck!

Activities for the Kids

A family vacation must include activities and adventures for everyone involved, even the kids! While most kids will love the beaches and everything the wonderful ocean has to offer, there is so much more to do on Grand Cayman. Remember, time spent in Grand Cayman vacation rentals means everyone can pick a day’s escape! Take the kids to play with the sea turtles at Boatswain’s Beach, skateboarding at Black Pearl Skate and Surf Park, or even aboard a real pirate ship! Just remember, even if you do not bring the kids along, you can still check these places out. There is no age limit to fun!

Getting Around Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman is pretty small but all destinations are not within walking distance. Around George Town harbor, you will find a small area filled with plenty of shops and eateries where you can walk around but that is really about it. There are plenty of taxis, buses, and car rental offices. If you decide to rent a car, you must be 21 years of age. Additionally, remember to drive on the left side of the road and always wear your seatbelt! For those that do not want to rely on a rental car or public transportation, the option to rent a moped or scooter is perfect! Scooters are affordable and lots of fun.

Best Time for Grand Cayman

The temperatures range from 72 degrees F to 88 degreesF throughout the year, so feel free to plan a Grand Cayman adventure any time of year. Whenever you want to escape it all, book a flight! Warm and sunny all year means a Cayman vacation is hard to beat. Though it is perfectly fine to visit just about any time of year, your best bet is probably January, February, or March. During these months, the climate is at its mildest. There is not any daylight saving time either. So the difference in day length does not vary much between summer and winter.

Grand Cayman does have two rainy seasons, from May to June and then again from September to November. Though the rainfall can be quite heavy, the sun dries everything out quickly. You should plan your trip with hurricane season in mind. Remember, hurricane season runs from June through November, so it is best to avoid those months.
