  • Relaxing Family Vacation in Paradise

"Our family of five stayed At Kaibo Yacht Club Condos in August for a week. We have 3 teenagers and hoped they would enjoy the quiet side of the island. Without constant texting and calls with friends, we had our doubts. With the pool. beach access, snorkeling, paddlebording, Kaibo restaurants, etc. within a short walk away, they had plenty to keep themselves occupied. We spent most days at Rum Point Beach, a sanctuary for relaxation! We rented a car which is definitely needed if staying on the Northside. Driving can be a challenge when you approach the many roundabouts, but with a front seat navigator, it is bearable. We traveled to Seven Mile Beach on a rainy day to check out all of the hype from various advertisements. We stayed for under 2 hours and all agreed we had chosen the perfect location at Kaibo to stay. Seven Mile was way too crowded and difficult to drive through. Parking was troublesome even during the summer season, so we decided to head back to the peace and serene relaxation of Kaibo. Our teens loved the snorkeling and even observed two purple lobsters at one of our eastend beach stops. Sting Ray City was dynamite. We booked an early morning excursion and avoided multiple boats and cruise passengers during our 2 hour experience. The highlight of our trip was the bioluminescent night tour of the bio bay with Cayman Kayaks. It was a moonless night and the sky was full of shooting stars and water illuminated with dino flagellates. Sooo Cool! The Kaibo unit afforded us the choice of cooking some of our meals in the condo which saved us money. The view was breathtaking and the perfect backdrop for photo memories. The property was well maintained and very clean. The pool and surrounding gardens were manicured daily. Property manager Barb was accessible and helpful throughout the week. Thanks Mark for your assistance in arranging our stay. We would highly recommend this location for couples or families seeking a comfortable, relaxing tropical paradise!"

  • Ocean View from every Room!

"We had a wonderful time! The minute we walked in the condo, I felt that the unit was even better than described by the VRBO listing. It is spacious, very well kept and you can see the ocean from just about every location inside. The porch has a wonderful hammock that we used often – when the wind is blowing, the hammock rocks gently. Once you walk outside, you are a few steps from the beach. The beach is not as nice as 7 mile, but does have great snorkeling offshore. Unfortunately, for about half the time we were there, the wind was quite strong coming from off the ocean. If you like a private and low key setting, this side of the island it great. If you want more restaurant options and busyness – 7 mile beach is the place. We did go to 7 mile beach 3 times for different reasons during out stay – it’s not hard to get to and is about a 45 minute drive."

  • Great Vacation

"We stayed at this condo in February 2014. The condo was perfect for two couples. The kitchen was well stocked and the washer and dryer was a nice bonus. The views from the patio truly can't be beat anywhere. We spent nearly every evening enjoying the sunset from this ideal spot. The pool was quiet and felt as though we were the only ones using it most days. Like most of the other reviews stated, the shore line is very rocky where it meets the water. There is some sand between the rocks and condo property, but it is coarse. The sandy white beaches are a short walk to the north so remember your water shoes. The snorkeling was amazing as a shipwreck is so close. The condo is in walking distance to some nice restaurants and the grocery. Howard was great to work with throughout the entire process, from reserving the condo to checking on us after our arrival. Thanks for the condo rental! Looking forward to returning soon!"

Grand Cayman Travel Tips

Get Away to Grand Cayman

When planning a tropical getaway, one of the first places that comes to mind is the Cayman Islands, perhaps Grand Cayman in particular. The Cayman Islands are nestled in the calm, crystal blue waters of the Caribbean. Just three small islands comprise the great Cayman Islands: Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, and Cayman Brac. All this glory and wonder is located just 480 miles south of Miami so it really is not that far away!

Getting to Your Grand Cayman Getaway

Grand Cayman travel is not as hard as you may think. A flight from Miami is just over an hour which means you can get to the Cayman Islands in virtually no time, especially if you live on the eastern seaboard. As you book your travel plans, regardless of your origin, it is good to know that the best airport to fly into is Owen Roberts International Airport, located on Grand Cayman. Every week there are almost 60 flights going into the Caymans which means your travel plans can be made to fit in with your busy lifestyle.

Activities for Your Grand Cayman Vacation

No matter your age, you will find plenty of activities to keep you busy while staying in Grand Cayman resorts. A Grand Cayman vacation is perfect for the entire family. The shared fun and experiences you will have really sets this destination apart from other tropical settings. While you can have plenty of fun in the sun on Seven Mile Beach, there are lots of new things to try as well. Grand Cayman is known for it scuba diving and underwater adventures. Both experienced divers and first-time snorkelers will have countless opportunities to get up close and personal with the deep blue sea. Check out Stingray City or shipwreck!

Activities for the Kids

A family vacation must include activities and adventures for everyone involved, even the kids! While most kids will love the beaches and everything the wonderful ocean has to offer, there is so much more to do on Grand Cayman. Remember, time spent in Grand Cayman vacation rentals means everyone can pick a day’s escape! Take the kids to play with the sea turtles at Boatswain’s Beach, skateboarding at Black Pearl Skate and Surf Park, or even aboard a real pirate ship! Just remember, even if you do not bring the kids along, you can still check these places out. There is no age limit to fun!

Getting Around Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman is pretty small but all destinations are not within walking distance. Around George Town harbor, you will find a small area filled with plenty of shops and eateries where you can walk around but that is really about it. There are plenty of taxis, buses, and car rental offices. If you decide to rent a car, you must be 21 years of age. Additionally, remember to drive on the left side of the road and always wear your seatbelt! For those that do not want to rely on a rental car or public transportation, the option to rent a moped or scooter is perfect! Scooters are affordable and lots of fun.

Best Time for Grand Cayman

The temperatures range from 72 degrees F to 88 degreesF throughout the year, so feel free to plan a Grand Cayman adventure any time of year. Whenever you want to escape it all, book a flight! Warm and sunny all year means a Cayman vacation is hard to beat. Though it is perfectly fine to visit just about any time of year, your best bet is probably January, February, or March. During these months, the climate is at its mildest. There is not any daylight saving time either. So the difference in day length does not vary much between summer and winter.

Grand Cayman does have two rainy seasons, from May to June and then again from September to November. Though the rainfall can be quite heavy, the sun dries everything out quickly. You should plan your trip with hurricane season in mind. Remember, hurricane season runs from June through November, so it is best to avoid those months.
