  • Rest, Renew, and Refresh at Paradise Pointe

"From the moment we arrived at Paradise Pointe we relaxed into our vacation mode on Grand Cayman. As you enter the property courtyard, you will see the beautiful sea view and hear the waves. Mary and Phil met us with a warm welcome and showed us to our apartment. The accommodations are exactly as described and pictured on the website. We were especially appreciative of the ample supply of towels and linens, including beach towels. Everything was very clean and well supplied. My personal favorite was the refrigerator in our unit which cooled better than my refrigerator and freezer at home in Ohio! The kitchen has equipment to prepare meals if you would like to do so however there are also several restaurants within a short walk or easily accessible on the bus system. (Several other reviewers mentioned the nearby restaurants, so I will not duplicate their excellent information except to say that the Greenhouse was my favorite!). The apartment had a very nice television and the internet worked well although we didn't use either very often. The living room area is nicely appointed and the furniture very comfortable. There is lots of room in the bedroom so that you don't trip over your suit cases and plenty of room in the closet and dresser for your clothes and other items. We did not rent a car and found the bus system very easy and a economical alternative. The cost to get anywhere on West Bay, Seven Mile Beach or into Georgetown is 2 CI per person or about 2.50 USD. During most times, the busses are plentiful and will pick you up anywhere along the route. They can be spaced further apart on weekends and later into the evening. We walked to the grocery store, cemetery beach, and several restaurants that were within a 15 minute walk. Initially I was a little hesitant not to rent a car, but I am very glad we did not use any vacation money on that - more to spend on other things! The hosts are what set this accommodation apart from others. They are available to answer questions and point you in the right direction without being intrusive. Both Mary and Phil know the island very well and will give you kind guidance if you ask. We also enjoyed meeting the other guests and joining them at the waterfront each evening for a cocktail at sunset. We will return next year!"

  • Absolutely a perfect vacation!!!!!

"After reading the great reviews this place gets our expectations were really high and it did not dissapoint. Karen really makes it easy with the packet and suggestions prior to arriving. The condo was very clean and she truly has thought of every need. Kitchen has about every utensil you will need, there are lots of beach towels, T paper, bug spray, etc. The place feels very home like. The location really is great. The bar is truly right next door but closes by 7p so it is very quiet and relaxing. My two boys (5 and 7) would get up every morning with their Papa and walk on the pier seeing lots of fish and stingrays and chasing crabs. Great memories for them. We walked down the road to the public beach which is about 600-700 yards.....and snorkled back. We saw ton's of fish and great gardens of coral. The snorkeling is great as you end up right in front of the condo. Highly recommend taking Karen's advise on water shoes for the beach in front of the condo. Lots of rocks and coral. We really enjoyed Tukkas to eat as their lion fish tacos are incredible. Kurts Corner is a must as this is where the locals eat and the food is great and the price is less expensive. It is not on the beach so we got take out a few times and ate back at the condo. I would recommend going over to Kaibo for the stingray city tour as it is about 1/2 the price vs if you book it right next door to the condo. Plus the boat is smaller and he only takes 10-12 people at a time. Also takes you snorkeling after visiting the sting rays. Rum Point is truly a great place to stay as it is much sleeper than Seven Mile Beach. It does get somewhat active for lunch time as a few cruise passengers show up but they are generally there for 2-4 hrs. The only place we thought the food was just ok was at the ShipWreck. Pricey and just not that great of food. Have someone run up to Kurt's and bring it back. The only thing I would change is outside the condo they had the grass area roped off as they were trying to grow sod. My boys would have loved to throw the ball or kick a soccer ball there but could not. This just means it will be that much nicer when we return!!!!! This truly is a wonderful place to be with your family if you like something a little more layed back. Also Starfish point was fun as we were the only people there for 2 hrs."
