  • Super Vacation

"Kai Kotch was everything we were hoping for in our Grand Cayman vacation. Our family of 4 (9 year old daughter and 6 year old son) loved the house and its location. Rum Point beach was about 75 yards from the house and the snorkeling was great. The kayaks that came with the unit practically paid for a free nights stay when compared against the available nightime kayak tours. Some recommended restaurants include Tukka towards the East End, Kurts Kitchen (non-traditional location on the way to Bowden Town but great local food) and Rackams in Georgetown. Tim, the owner of Kai Koch, was a pleasure to work with. Very easy and accomodating. We had a slight issue with the coffee maker and it was addressed promptly. The overall management of the unit was outstanding. We definately recommend Kai Kotch and look forward to coming back for snorkeling at Eden Rock and over the Wreck of the Cali."

  • Perfect

"We were lucky enough to rent #13 at The Retreat on Rum Point. It was fantastic! Perfect beach for relaxing, reading, sunning and snorkeling! The marine life right there was AWESOME! Loved the décor in the condo...lots of nice comfy towels and tons of little extras included! Great place to get away from it all. You felt like you had the whole resort to yourself! Beautiful setting. Would go back in a second! WILL go back! It is the perfect place to get away from it all, or walk next door to Rum Point and be in the thick of things! Red Sail sports next door is handy for any activities....and nice people to deal with!"

  • Absolutely a perfect vacation!!!!!

"After reading the great reviews this place gets our expectations were really high and it did not dissapoint. Karen really makes it easy with the packet and suggestions prior to arriving. The condo was very clean and she truly has thought of every need. Kitchen has about every utensil you will need, there are lots of beach towels, T paper, bug spray, etc. The place feels very home like. The location really is great. The bar is truly right next door but closes by 7p so it is very quiet and relaxing. My two boys (5 and 7) would get up every morning with their Papa and walk on the pier seeing lots of fish and stingrays and chasing crabs. Great memories for them. We walked down the road to the public beach which is about 600-700 yards.....and snorkled back. We saw ton's of fish and great gardens of coral. The snorkeling is great as you end up right in front of the condo. Highly recommend taking Karen's advise on water shoes for the beach in front of the condo. Lots of rocks and coral. We really enjoyed Tukkas to eat as their lion fish tacos are incredible. Kurts Corner is a must as this is where the locals eat and the food is great and the price is less expensive. It is not on the beach so we got take out a few times and ate back at the condo. I would recommend going over to Kaibo for the stingray city tour as it is about 1/2 the price vs if you book it right next door to the condo. Plus the boat is smaller and he only takes 10-12 people at a time. Also takes you snorkeling after visiting the sting rays. Rum Point is truly a great place to stay as it is much sleeper than Seven Mile Beach. It does get somewhat active for lunch time as a few cruise passengers show up but they are generally there for 2-4 hrs. The only place we thought the food was just ok was at the ShipWreck. Pricey and just not that great of food. Have someone run up to Kurt's and bring it back. The only thing I would change is outside the condo they had the grass area roped off as they were trying to grow sod. My boys would have loved to throw the ball or kick a soccer ball there but could not. This just means it will be that much nicer when we return!!!!! This truly is a wonderful place to be with your family if you like something a little more layed back. Also Starfish point was fun as we were the only people there for 2 hrs."

  • You will pinch yourself to make sure it's real!

"I stayed at The Retreat for a week with a group of friends, and I have to say, everything about the experience exceeded my expectations. The accommodations are clean and homey, with views of the beach from the patio. But why sit inside and look at the beach when you can slip on your suit, grab a book and lay on the beach instead! Crystal clear waters, a warm tropical breeze and a tranquil retreat, this is the place to completely relax. Never boring, but not your typical "touristy" location, we were able to enjoy all the island has to offer, without the hustle and bustle of Georgetown and 7 Mile Beach - we felt more like locals than visitors! Rum Point recreation area is just steps from The Retreat, and had just what you needed if you were craving more adventure- from volleyball, to outdoor lunches, drinks on the beach and a great gift shop. Sunsets each night were incredible. Snorkeling was fantastic, right off the beach. We enjoyed a few nights out at local restaurants, which were short drives from our condo. But, some of the best nights were spent watching the sunset, making dinner, and enjoying good company on this quiet beach. The Retreat is truly that - I have never had such a relaxing time, and will cherish these memories for a lifetime. I hope I am lucky enough to return one day!"
