  • Great Relaxation

"We spent a wonderful relaxing week. We found it clean, a very functional kitchen, with comfortable furniture. Pictures don't do it justice, very roomy. Already making plans to return!"

  • Amazing

"If you are looking for a relaxing vacation this is the place. The condo is in amazing condition, clean and completely stocked with everything you need. There was only 2 other families on the premises so it felt like we had our own private beach and pool. We will definitely be back."

  • Review of Northern Lights

"My wife and I have stayed at Northern Lights for two to four weeks during the summer almost every year for over a decade. The descriptions and pictures on the web site are accurate. The appearance in reality is as lovely as shown in the in the photos. The air conditioning is good. The condo has all the amenities described on the web site. It is always spotless when we arrive. The owner, who lives in the condo next to the one we rent, has been very helpful and accommodating. There are a handful of good restaurants within a 15 minute drive (you need to rent a car), but we rarely eat out. The main attraction for us is the nearby reef where we snorkel. The reef can be reached from the dock in about a minute's swim and can be followed in water shallow enough to stand for at least half a mile. A couple years ago we recorded seeing over 100 varieties of fish and other marine life (not counting the many corals). If you are a scuba diver, it is feasible to swim from the dock to three of the island's best dive sites, but we have not tried that. Another attraction for us is that it is very quiet. During the summer, it is not unusual for us to look out at the water, or be in the water, and see no other people. We have brought our grown children and other guests from time to time. They have all enjoyed it. The beach between the condo property and the water is sandy but only about ten feet wide. There is sharp rock in the water so that you would not want to go in with bare feet. The entry to the water from the dock, however, is easy and convenient. We always wear flippers for snorkeling when we go in. We would recommend Northern Lights enthusiastically for anyone who likes beauty, serenity, and quiet. It's ideal for lovers -- but not great for small children."

  • Great Low Key Family Spot

"My family and I stayed at Scuba Shack for Spring Break this year. We have 4 children age 7-15. My three older kids are all certified divers (as is my wife and me). This was, to date, our best family vacation. The house is very nicely decorated and includes all normal accoutrements. Rick (the owner) provided scuba tanks for us to use along with the ability to have them filled on an as needed basis. He was also readily available and responsive to any questions I had before, during and after the rental. If you are looking for the night life, this is not the place for you. If you are looking to get away this is definitely a great spot. There is a condo adjacent to the property but I do not recall seeing a single inhabitant of that complex during our one week stay. The house is on the North side of the Island and is very rural. That was perfect for us. The reason we rented this house is for the ability to dive right off the beach. Your ability to dive here is dictated by the prevailing winds. When the wind is from the North, diving is not going to happen here. When the winds are from the South, the sea is dead calm and shore diving is a breeze. The wind was from the South for 1/2 of our stay. There is a reef about 150 feet or so off shore that starts at about 30-40' and drops down to about 60' or so. If you swim past that another 150' or so you hit the wall. It starts at about 80' and drops totally out of sight (probably 3,500'). The reef is cool, but the Wall is the reason to dive Cayman. The diving was awesome but to have it right off the back porch with no travel to the dive shop, no ride on the boat sucking diesel fumes and so forth was incredible. I would not hesitate to rent the Scuba Shack again."
