"I stayed at The Retreat for a week with a group of friends, and I have to say, everything about the experience exceeded my expectations. The accommodations are clean and homey, with views of the beach from the patio. But why sit inside and look at the beach when you can slip on your suit, grab a book and lay on the beach instead! Crystal clear waters, a warm tropical breeze and a tranquil retreat, this is the place to completely relax. Never boring, but not your typical "touristy" location, we were able to enjoy all the island has to offer, without the hustle and bustle of Georgetown and 7 Mile Beach - we felt more like locals than visitors! Rum Point recreation area is just steps from The Retreat, and had just what you needed if you were craving more adventure- from volleyball, to outdoor lunches, drinks on the beach and a great gift shop. Sunsets each night were incredible. Snorkeling was fantastic, right off the beach. We enjoyed a few nights out at local restaurants, which were short drives from our condo. But, some of the best nights were spent watching the sunset, making dinner, and enjoying good company on this quiet beach. The Retreat is truly that - I have never had such a relaxing time, and will cherish these memories for a lifetime. I hope I am lucky enough to return one day!"

"We spent 7 relaxing days at Rum Point in this comfortable and beautifully decorated condo. Our mornings started with coffee and pancakes on the screened patio enjoying the glorious ocean view. Next was snorkeling just steps away from the front door. The condo is conveniently equipped with some snorkel equipment, beach towels, toys and floats so you don't have to worry about making room in your suitcase for these items. The condo has everything you could possibly need so we bought groceries and cooked and even barbequed everyday. We ate out a few times and highly recommend Vivine's Kitchen on east end. While we loved the beach at Rum Point we still explored other areas of the island. Smith's Cove was absolutely breathtaking! Seven Mile Beach was also wonderful. We have lovely photos from Stingray City, Starfish Beach, the Turtle Farm, Dolphin Encounter, and the Botanical Gardens. Each night Before bed we enjoyed stargazing on the beach. The night sky is so clear you can see can see the Milky Way and each night we saw from 6 to 12 shooting stars! This was truly a vacation to remember.
Our sincere thanks to you Mr. Boden for sharing your lovely condo with us. We are already checking our calendar for next year as we would dearly love to return for a longer stay.

"We had a great time in Grand Cayman with our family of 6. The place was perfect for us. Plenty of room and to have the open patio with sand and ocean out the back door is so nice. Note when we were there - there was a lot of dried sea grass on the beach so not clear soft sand. The villas are very private and quiet. The house is located with the ocean on one side and the road on the back side by the small parking area. So at night with the windows open you can hear cars. There are not a lot of cars but on weekends there are more. The house is 10 minutes away from Rum Point, a popular spot on the north side of the island. The villa is off the beaten path and away from the big resorts of Seven-Mile Beach. There were only 2 or 3 of the villas rented the week we were there. Full kitchen which was great for us - with a large family we like to eat all our meals in and pack a picnic lunch, rather than eat at expensive restaurants. A cooler was provided. We went to the grocery store twice about 25 minutes away from house. Also the washer/dryer was a must. There are plenty of sand toys, snorkel gear, beach towels, etc. We did bring our own snorkel gear though. There are two bikes with helmets but unfortunately one of the bike pedals was broken. It looked like an extra pedal had been purchased as a replacement but it was not on the bike and it kept falling off. The outdoor shower was great for the kids! The snorkeling out back is wonderful on a clear and calm day. Unfortunately, there were only two calm days so most of the time the ocean was cloudy and rough. Hard to see the fish. So when it is rough and windy on the north side (which is where the house is) you have to drive to the south or west shores of the island to get calm water. Having said that, you MUST rent a car!! We rented two small cars and we were so thankful we did. To drive on the left was easy to get used to. There is really only one main road on Grand Cayman so it is easy to get around. Not too much traffic and seemed very safe. We didn't anticipate having to get in the car everyday (kids weren't too happy about it in the beginning) and drive to a beach/snorkeling spot but after we got used to it the kids were fine with it. Most good snorkeling spots are 25-40 minutes away from the house so just be prepared. We packed lunch every day. Frank was very accommodating in giving us all the villa and tourist information we needed. All in all a great place and maybe we will be back one day!"

"“Rum & Kai - wonderful place to relax”
We have been going to the Caribbean for 30 years now, but always stayed at hotels. First time staying in a person's condo....and we were a bit hesitant. As soon as we walked into the condo, we "broke" into a big smile and were so pleased with our choice. Matt and Tracey have thought of EVERYTHING one might need on vacation -- and then some! The unit was extremely clean, very spacious, very quiet (no noise from other units), beautiful view. We loved sitting on the screened-in porch. We do not like the crowds of 7-mile Beach (we did that before), and wanted a quieter area - perfect place to choose. Water was very calm, easy to snorkel. Having RUM POINT right next door (but separated from us) was ideal for going over to their Monday Night Barbeque (delicious)...and for a couple lunches. Walked to Kaibo Yacht Club (delicious brick-oven pizza and awesome milkshakes)....very tasty pastries from their breakfast Espresso Shop. Did the Bioluminescent Kayak Tour (from right next door at Rum Point). Toured the Botanical Gardens - delightful. Walked the Mastic Trail (both ways) - what an experience, and so glad I ventured out of my comfort zone to do this. Left my cell phone when we departed, but it was mailed back to us with no problems. If you want a place where you can truly relax, be extremely comfortable with the facilities (the condo, the grounds, the beach), then Unit #13, Rum + Kai, is the place! You will not be disappointed. One side-note: the people of Grand Cayman are very, very friendly. We got a rental car and were driving to The Retreat - my map-reading was poor!! - and the driving instructions from the Managment Company and Matt/Tracey were in the back-seat. Oh -- we can do this! Well - we were confused, but had a very friendly man on a motorcycle stop and escort us most of the way there! You don't get service like that in the United States....or many places! But we found the people of Grand Cayman to be among the friendliest of any island we have visited. Thanks again, Matt and Tracey -- we hope we are lucky enough to visit Grand Cayman again....and especially Rum + Kai."
