  • perfect quiet getaway

"My husband, our almost two year old daughter, and I stayed for a week at this beautiful property and had an amazing time. The condo is absolutely beautiful, everything is clean and brand new looking, and really nicely decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped. We had more than enough room for just the three of us. In fact we kept saying we should have brought both sets of grandparents with us there would have been room for everyone! The property itself is VERY quiet. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway this is the place. We only saw other people every once in awhile and almost always had the lagoon to ourselves. The main reason we chose this property was the little lagoon on the beach created by a coral wall. We thought it would be the perfect place for our daughter to play. It ended up being perfect as we were there on a particularly windy week but the lagoon was very calm and peaceful. As the mom of a toddler I can say while I certainly didn't expect the condo to be child proofed, there was not much for her to get into. No stairs (inside the condo) to fall down and although we didn't allow her on the patio by herself I think she probably would have been safe out there as the railings were tall and close together. So it was the perfect spot for the three of us. Rum Point is nearby and worth checking out but we mainly played in the lagoon all week. Amy & Tony, the owners, were very accomodating. The packet they send in the mail has all the info you could possibly need. In fact their directions to the condo were better than google. For some reason google had the address as down the road a bit and once we referenced the directions they had sent us we found the property no problem. They answered all our questions we had before hand and even contacted us while we were there to let us know they were going to be on the island at the end of our stay there if there were any issues with the unit (which there wasn’t). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful, serene getaway and would not hesitate to stay there again if we ever find ourselves back on Grand Cayman."

  • Perfect in every way

"We stayed for 8 nights on our snorkeling vacation and would definitely recommend. The property exceeded our expectations. The bay is beautiful, fun to watch occasional boats come and go, and although it is a grassy and sandy bottom here the visibility was good enough to go for a quick dip here every morning and check in on our ‘locals’ which included starfish, spiny lobsters and a variety of fish. Check out the fish under the pier at The Pools next door. We snorkeled round to Starfish point and back. Our boys used the pool most days and it was always quiet. Stroll a few steps along the beach to the Yacht club for lunch, dinner or cocktails. The condo itself was excellently maintained and equipped, nicely decorated (ocean themed) and very comfortable. Our son slept on the aero bed the first night and would not give it up. It was superior to any sleeper sofa we have previously encountered. There is no dining table - just a breakfast bar - but we ate outside on the porch all the time. We loved the view from the living room and master bedroom/porch and we appreciated being on the quieter part of the island as opposed to 7-mile beach. It was sheltered compared to the north side, but there was still a constant pleasant warm breeze. The owners offered helpful suggestions on the best places nearby to go snorkeling. One of our favorites was the drift snorkel at Cayman Kai public beach, less than a 10 minute drive away."

  • Great Value

"This was a very pleasant surprise. We usually stay at the Westin next door because it has more activity and action for the kids. Well, as it turns out, my wife and kids prefer the quiet space and trees at the Galleon. The beach has enough chairs and lounges for everyone, its got much more space (so you are not on top of each other) and they even had a kayak for the residents which was a great toy for each of us to use. The grounds were well kept, the buildings in good condition and the unit was very well kept, well appointed and very comfortable. We had a great time, with just enough activity to keep everyone happy without feeling like we were being sandwiched between 1,000 guests at a large hotel. I would highly recommend this!!"

  • Best "Margarita Dive Club" trip ever!!

"Cayman Bay Escape was perfectly suited for our 4 couple dive club! We have been to Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Bonaire, Belize and Roatan and this was everyone's favorite spot!!! The kitchen has all the necessary equipment. The dining room, TV room and outside living space is perfect for 8 people. The pool deck is huge and we were able to lay out all of our dive gear easily to dry. THere is also an outside shower to rinse off the equipment. The bedroom with the twin beds was easily transformed into a kingsize bed and the bathroom was located just across the hallway. The other bedrooms/bathrooms were very private on either side of the house and the cottage was perfect for one of our couples. The diving off the property is first class. We saw huge Moray eels, lobster, tons of Lion Fish, and other beautiful fish, corals, sponges, sea urchins...the list goes on...The pool was lovely to sit around and watch both the sunrise and sunset. Michael was easily accessible before our trip for multiple questions. The manager, Barbara, was easily accessible by the home phone. Marcia (sp?) came twice during our week stay to wash sheets and towels and freshen up the kitchen. The island is very friendly and safe. We dove with Deep Blue Divers in town and the 15 minute drive each morning was totally worth it. Nick runs a first class dive operation and Sunny was our favorite boat captain and dive master. Nick provided an almost private boat for our group because we don't like to dive with a large number of people at the same spot. We got to swim with Fin the nurse shark and watch Sunny hunt Lion Fish and feed them to the Snapper! The Spotted Eagle Rays were magnificent, as well as the turtles. We saw lobster, huge crabs, huge Moray eels and smaller Brown eels. THe angel fish and other fish and corals, sponges were spectacular! Can you tell that I am having a difficult time finding the adjectives to describe our vacation!?! *smile* A few things to remember, supposedly your US car insurance will not cover you in GRand Cayman, so if you want insurance it about doubles the price of the car. Also, using a cell phone is very expensive...so check you plans before you arrive. Fosters or Kirks grocery were fine for shopping. The restaurants are pretty expensive so come prepared. We found the Sunshine Grill to have fantastic burgers, fish sandwiches for a reasonable price. There is also Pizza Hut and CHicken/Chicken for take out and cheaper dinner. WIFI was great!"
