  • Location Is Key!

"What a great time we had! This property is steps away from the beach! It's on the lower level so you can just walk out onto the sand! Love that! Breakfast on the patio near the water and sunsets that most people only dream about! Location is everything! The condo was clean, safe and close to everything. As noted, the complex has the beach, pool, kiddie pool, hot tub, and its own restaurant within steps of the condo. Something for everyone! We arrived on a Sunday not realizing that all the stores (including supermarkets) were closed, so the restaurant was key since we were so hungry from our trip. There are even grills outside where we BBQ'd one night. Snorkeling in the Caymans was the best! There are a number of great recommendations in the journal at the condo. Our favorite was a boat tour (Acquarius Sea Tours) that took us out snorkeling, to stingray city, and starfish point - great for our teenagers! Great staff, they picked us up at the condo, included snorkel gear (even life jackets and noodles if desired), and underwater photos (all included in the cost)! They didn't overcrowd the boat like a lot of others we saw. Great time, definitely would recommend to all - best bang for the buck! Another highlight was The Cracked Conch (near the turtle farm) and it's sister restaurant. Both great snorkeling and food! Unfortunately, my teen daughter needed medical care (minor - not island related) and there is an urgent care facility within walking distance. They were great and were able to get her back on her feet for the trip back home. Just good to note that there is a competent medical staff nearby. Would recommend this condo and the beautiful Cayman Islands in a heartbeat. The people are so warm and friendly. Larry and his wife are lucky to call this their own! Thank you for sharing your home and creating long lasting memories for me and my family!!"

  • Amazing location and great amenities.

"First let me say Michael the owner was so easy to communicate with, very efficient and super organized. All questions were quickly and thoroughly answered. The house offers everything it says in the VRBO brief. Our teen girls loved the kayaks at the house and the pool. There was also a fun diverse DVD collection we had some good family time watching! Mitzy the management company lady was quick to address any questions we had too and scheduled a cleaning request (we were staying for 2 weeks) at 24 hours notice. Rum point is literally across the road from the house. A one minute walk to a beautiful beach, gorgeous blue ocean, super friendly staff and awesome cocktails while watching stunning sunsets just can't be beat!! Our teens even tried the paddle boarding at the beach here ($20 for half hour) and we snorkeled there too. Not great snorkeling, but fun. Water at the beach is only waist deep in most places so great for young families and the whole place and facilities are kept super clean. We were over there most days at some point. The restaurant there was really good too for an easy evening out, when hubby fed up of driving. Be aware, staying at this house absolutely necessitates having a car. Georgetown is a good 45 minute drive and reasonable supermarket is 30 mins away too. We loved the quiet versus commercialism of seven mile beach area and don't mind driving. We did scuba diving, pony/swim ride (coral stone stables) paddle boarding, snorkeling, golf, swimming with the turtles at Spotts beach (amazing!), kayaking and lots of pool/beach relaxation too. Totally recommend this listing!"

  • Perfect!

"The condo is exactly as described. Great setting and very private. Everything you need is there and were it should be. For us it was close to activities like the Dolphin Swim and Ride out to StingRay City. Barkers beach is right down the road and has miles of secluded beachfront and perfect warm water lagoon for swimming and snorkeling. There is even a horseback riding concession that takes you out into the water right there on the beach. We are kiteboarders and this location allowed us to jump in the van and go to Barkers and ride for a while and be back for lunch in a matter of minutes. Barkers may be the best location in the Caribbean to kite! We went to the restaurant across the street twice and had some of the best food ever! Its also close to a few more great restaurants like The Calypso Grill and Alfrescos. Fosters, a full service grocery store, is about 10 min away where you can stock up on everything you could possibly need for your stay. Dee the owner was so easy to work with and communicates quickly and answered all our questions. The place was very very clean and even provides beach towels and a cooler to make the stay more enjoyable. If you want shopping and nightlife its a 15 min drive to all the action on 7 mile beach. If you want the hustle and bustle of the Georgetown and tourist areas this is not the place for you. If you want to really relax and enjoy the perfect climate and scenery then it does not get much better than this!! A few days we had the pool to ourselves with just a few folks coming and going. Loved our stay and would recommend it to friends and family alike!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • Anniversary Get Away

"We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and chose this villa from the many selections. We did not go wrong...it is perfect! It is exactly as pictured and very well maintained. The owners were very helpful in everything, so we did not experience any glitches. We had the most relaxing time, the weather was great. We recommend Stingray City. We booked our tour with Sotos and they were fantastic..made the day perfect. The Villas private beach is awesome and the security guards were friendly and made us feel very safe. We ate in a lot, but enjoyed meals at Legends, Eats Café, Copper Falls and the Lobster Pot - great food! We recommend having cocktails at Lone Star Bar & Grill up from Camana Bay and Rackams in Georgetown. We couldn't have had a more perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you!"

Grand Cayman Travel Tips

Get Away to Grand Cayman

When planning a tropical getaway, one of the first places that comes to mind is the Cayman Islands, perhaps Grand Cayman in particular. The Cayman Islands are nestled in the calm, crystal blue waters of the Caribbean. Just three small islands comprise the great Cayman Islands: Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, and Cayman Brac. All this glory and wonder is located just 480 miles south of Miami so it really is not that far away!

Getting to Your Grand Cayman Getaway

Grand Cayman travel is not as hard as you may think. A flight from Miami is just over an hour which means you can get to the Cayman Islands in virtually no time, especially if you live on the eastern seaboard. As you book your travel plans, regardless of your origin, it is good to know that the best airport to fly into is Owen Roberts International Airport, located on Grand Cayman. Every week there are almost 60 flights going into the Caymans which means your travel plans can be made to fit in with your busy lifestyle.

Activities for Your Grand Cayman Vacation

No matter your age, you will find plenty of activities to keep you busy while staying in Grand Cayman resorts. A Grand Cayman vacation is perfect for the entire family. The shared fun and experiences you will have really sets this destination apart from other tropical settings. While you can have plenty of fun in the sun on Seven Mile Beach, there are lots of new things to try as well. Grand Cayman is known for it scuba diving and underwater adventures. Both experienced divers and first-time snorkelers will have countless opportunities to get up close and personal with the deep blue sea. Check out Stingray City or shipwreck!

Activities for the Kids

A family vacation must include activities and adventures for everyone involved, even the kids! While most kids will love the beaches and everything the wonderful ocean has to offer, there is so much more to do on Grand Cayman. Remember, time spent in Grand Cayman vacation rentals means everyone can pick a day’s escape! Take the kids to play with the sea turtles at Boatswain’s Beach, skateboarding at Black Pearl Skate and Surf Park, or even aboard a real pirate ship! Just remember, even if you do not bring the kids along, you can still check these places out. There is no age limit to fun!

Getting Around Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman is pretty small but all destinations are not within walking distance. Around George Town harbor, you will find a small area filled with plenty of shops and eateries where you can walk around but that is really about it. There are plenty of taxis, buses, and car rental offices. If you decide to rent a car, you must be 21 years of age. Additionally, remember to drive on the left side of the road and always wear your seatbelt! For those that do not want to rely on a rental car or public transportation, the option to rent a moped or scooter is perfect! Scooters are affordable and lots of fun.

Best Time for Grand Cayman

The temperatures range from 72 degrees F to 88 degreesF throughout the year, so feel free to plan a Grand Cayman adventure any time of year. Whenever you want to escape it all, book a flight! Warm and sunny all year means a Cayman vacation is hard to beat. Though it is perfectly fine to visit just about any time of year, your best bet is probably January, February, or March. During these months, the climate is at its mildest. There is not any daylight saving time either. So the difference in day length does not vary much between summer and winter.

Grand Cayman does have two rainy seasons, from May to June and then again from September to November. Though the rainfall can be quite heavy, the sun dries everything out quickly. You should plan your trip with hurricane season in mind. Remember, hurricane season runs from June through November, so it is best to avoid those months.
