  • A great private getaway

"Our family really enjoyed staying in this private house at the end, end, end of the road! Everything was clean and maintained well. I've stayed in places on St. John that had a more commanding view because they were higher up the mountain, but this spot is tranquil and still offered a picturesque place to relax with a cup of coffee in the morning on the second-floor deck. That deck is also a nice place to do some stargazing while listening to frogs and other night creatures. There are ruins right in your backyard, if you're willing to climb a bit, but they are totally worth the effort. This house provided plenty of room for a family of four -- we had the parents upstairs, one kid on the futon in the den and another on the pull-out couch. Having two bathrooms was nice, although note there's only one really useful shower. The outdoor shower provides very little privacy; more appropriate for a romantic getaway than a family vacation! :) The outdoor shower is very handy for just rinsing off after a day of hiking or at the beach if you were to do so while still in a swimsuit. Very nice kitchen amenities and an outdoor grill helped for some less-expensive meals cooked at home for a couple of nights. Despite very warm and humid weather, we never felt like we needed air conditioning thanks to the ceiling fans and comfortable breezes coming in the open doors and windows. Be prepared for visiting donkeys and, of course, the ever-present roosters make for some early mornings on the island. But then, you might as well get going early anyway since there is so much to do on St. John. The location was nice and secluded without being too far away from Coral Bay so you have relatively easy access to "town." Once you're stocked up on supplies, the owners provide plenty of coolers, beach towels and other things to help you enjoy your day at the beach or out hiking. While it's nice to be disconnected, we also appreciated the WiFi that was provided so we could upload and back up the many photos we were taking. All-in-all, a great place to call home for awhile. If we returned as a family again, this would be a place we would check on for availability."

  • Great Vacation

"My family of 6 stayed in this condo for spring break 2015. We had a great time. 4 kids were very happy the whole time! Nicole was gracious and very easy to work with. She answered my multiple questions! Kids had a blast in pools and beach. Adults and children had great dinners at the Marina and close by resorts. Resort is very safe. Girls would go jogging alone without any worries. I recommend Anthony Perez boat ride and fishing on the 'Rich and Famous'. This was the highlight of our trip. Also, deep sea fishing with Mikes Marina. Both boats leave from Marina and very easy to walk to. We will come back."

  • the real Bermuda experience

"Hubby and I stayed at Little Diamond in the Rough for a week, and it became a tropical home away from home. The price was right, and walking distance to the BEST beaches on the island. We can say this because we travelled on the scooter from one end to the other! So, realize this is PRIME beach location!! Also less than 2k from the local grocery store. The MarketPlace was the best one to go to, and it was very close using the railway trail. Really convenient that there was a washer/ dryer for exclusive access for the apartment. Tracy and daughter Ashley were very attentive to us. The only thing that we wished for was a bit better weather! We had some nice days but it was a bit rainy for a southern experience. I would still recommend late March for a Bermuda trip to any Canadians who (1) want to be guaranteed to get away from snow, and (2) will definitely avoid the crowds. We were literally the only ones on the beach most days, and some days it did get into the mid 20s. I would say that our trip would have been much different if we went any later into the season. I don't think we would have had the guts to rent a scooter, and we would have been standing in line-ups for some of the sights we've been told (e.g., Crystal Caves, the dockyard, etc.). Highly recommend this spot. This is the 4th time using out of country for VRBO, and we continue to be impressed with our selections, this one included. If I had to mention one little thing, if you are used to a soft, or pillow-top mattress, the one in this unit may take some getting used to, it's pretty firm. Thanks for a great experience, it's really as nice as pictures, the backyard will blow you away :)"

  • Awesome Property

"We visited Belize for three weeks with the first two planned and the last week open. We enjoyed the condo and Hopkins area so much we decided to spend our last week where we were. As far as value, we paid more for the car we rented than the studio we stayed at. The condo was better than advertised and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting this area. A vehicle was very helpful but extremely expensive. Would strongly recommend not using Avis as we just got an additional bill for over $700 after paying them over $80/day. Another excellent restaurant is the Sandy Beach restaurant that is right on the beach and very reasonable. If you like to kayak we paddled over to another resort for a breakfast buffet with the added thrill of seeing a couple of grazing Manatees that surfaced about 20 feet from us. If you like to ride horses, Outpost Trails is a very special place with good horses and only a couple of miles South of the Sittee River turnoff from the Southern Highway. The condo is a special place that greatly enhanced our visit in this area."
