"If you're looking for the most amazing, loss-of-words views, this is it. My mouth dropped open the first time we saw the lagoon & ocean off the back patio. The turquoise color of the lagoon looks as if it has lights under the water - looks "electric." The view was definitely one of the best parts of this condo.
So many beaches to choose from, each with their own charm. Tons of crabs! We took a bottle of wine down to the beach at sunset with a couple of chairs and watched all of the crabs come in for the night. Willemstad is definitely worth a day trip - so a car is necessary. The condo was clean, and a great size for my husband and I, but we probably could've had two more people and it would've been fine. The kitchen was stocked with basics for cooking but everything else (cooking oil, spices, etc) we bought. The big grocery store near Willemstad is definitely worth the trip to stock up on groceries/coffee/alcohol. Richard was wonderfully helpful in sending tons of info on anything you might need or wonder about prior to the trip.
The Curacao airport took HOURS to get through, as 2 planes arrived at once, and that was more than they could handle. This is a tropical environment, so bugs find EVERYTHING! Don't leave a single crumb on the counter or it will be ant-ville. When we went in April, it was extremely windy, which meant with the windows open at night, it was extremely loud. The condo has AC for an extra cost, which we didn't use, but sleeping could be a little tough at times. There was also a burglary at one of the neighbors condos while we were there during the night. My husband and I are very diligent about not leaving valuables in plain sight while on vacay, or at home, and we lock everything up tight. This was probably a crime of opportunity, but it was still unnerving. As Richard warns, there are no beach towels in the unit, so bringing your own is a good suggestion, unless you want to rent them from the manager on site. We brought our own snorkel gear so we didn't have to rent that as well. Also, the beaches at the shoreline are rocky - my feet were pretty torn up at the end, so bring water shoes, or even a pair of cheap flip-flops to protect your feet. Most of the beaches charge for lounge chairs, including the beach at this property, so you need to have cash. All together, smaller sized/clean/great condo with exquisite views - just what we were looking for."
