  • Great Cottage!

"This was our third stay at Periwinkle cottage and as with previous visits, our stay was unbelievable. The cottage has all the amenities that you would want in a St. John rental. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you'd need to cook a meal and there is everything you would need for the beach (chairs, coolers, etc.). The screened in porch on the top level is great for looking out over coral bay anytime, whether it be coffee in the morning or while having dinner at night. The bedrooms on the lower level are comfortable and there is AC in one of them. Our favorite part of the villa is the pool deck, which also has a hot tub which is perfect to relax in after a day of snorkeling and beaching it. My wife especially loves the cottage feel of the villa and the amazing view of all of the sailboats in coral bay. The ride up to the villa is a little bumpy, but you get used to it after a couple times up. The ride up to the villa also goes by love city mart, which I think has the best food/drink prices on the island and is a convenient stop after spending the day exploring St John. John, the owner, is very responsive and was great to deal with in booking and planning our trip. Lastly, I've done a lot of research of villas on St. John and Periwinkle cottage has all the amenities that you would want and is a good value compared to similar rentals. Thanks to John and his family for opening up their home to us and we can't wait to come back."

"The photos you see are just like the house truly is!! This property is amazing!!! It is the closest property to the Ocean on all of Grace Bay after walking from one end to the other. The sand here is the best we have ever walked on and the beaches are incredible. The view from almost every room upstairs is spectacular. The kitchen has every item and then some that you could even imagine. We cooked a lot of food inside and out because there is no reason to leave this place. We have rented several homes and been very disappointed because the picture shows one thing and then you get there and the pictures were from 10 years ago and the house is run down. From the owner (Katalin) to James and Romeo we have never had a better experience. Romeo made our beds every day and changed out our sheets midweek. We always had plenty of clean beach towels, bath towels and wash clothes. He would refill all of out paper towel and toilet paper as well. Romeo even ran to the store for us a couple times which saved us from leaving this place (yes we did tip him very well because he was that good of a care taker). There is also plenty of spices to use which was also fantastic. If you stay here you will go back!!! And the color of the water that you see in the pictures are true as well.Enjoy"

  • Beyond our expectations

"We had a wonderful time here and would definitely stay again if we return to St. Thomas. The pictures of the villa don't do it justice. The views are incredible and everything was clean and well maintained. We traveled with another couple and really enjoyed being away from the busy tourist areas. You will definitely want to have a car but this location is close to some of the most beautiful beaches and there are several good restaurants in the area. Beds were comfortable and tons of windows and patio doors let in the ocean breezes and sounds of waves crashing. We never turned on the television but we did use the wi-fi which was nice to have because our cell phone provider (Verizon) didn't seem to have a presence on the island. Overall we had a fantastic vacation and were very glad we chose this property."

  • Great Family Visit!

"We had a great time at Rosa's lovely house. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The meals were great and the nice big backyard provided plenty of room for the kids to run around. Highly recommended."

Activities and Attractions at Curacao Villas

Curacao is one of the Caribbean’s top underwater and diving destinations. The pristine coral reefs will delight even the most experienced of divers. A highlight of Curacao diving is a site known as the mushroom forest. Here, you can experience a magical underwater forest of giant mushroom-shaped star coral. Some are as large as 10 feet. The diving conditions are ideal and typically, you can enjoy crystal-clear visibility, warm water temperatures, and calm swell conditions. Snorkelers can enjoy the underwater wonders on the shallower reefs. For those who simply want to relax and enjoy the sunshine, there are miles of beautiful sandy white beaches and persistent good weather.

On land, the islands have some unique attractions. The Hato Caves are an intricate network of limestone stalactites and stalagmites. There are also a number of cave drawings which are believed to dates back 1,500 years. For those who enjoy exploring nature trails, the Christoffel National Park has miles of scenic trails for visitors to enjoy. You can photograph wildlife or visit the beautiful cultivated gardens. Willemstad is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The beautiful pastel-colored buildings are unique in that it is the only place outside of the Netherlands where such fine examples of Dutch colonial architecture can be found. Willemstad is a shopper’s delight with boutiques and galleries offering a wide assortment of high-end purchases. It is also an excellent place to enjoy an evening out as there are many fine restaurants in the town.

Best Time of Year to Visit Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Curacao

Curacao enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. Heavy rain falls tend to occur in May and again in October and November; these are generally the off-season months for travelers. The summer months can get very hot which is ideal if you enjoy water sports but perhaps too warm to laze on the beach. The peak travel season is during the moderately cooler months which are from December through April.
