  • AMAZING

"My family & I (two adults & two kids ages 13 & 10) visited Sarkiki in April 2015. The drive from the airport is quiet long but the views are well worth it. We would recommend renting a car (we did) that way you can explore what the country has to offer. We were the only ones there for three days of our stay which was great! Linda was super easy to work with and answered every question we had in a timely fashion (usually within hours)! The staff are just awesome - Epi, Lisa, Manuel, Ruben, Gregory, the list goes on and on. You need anything just ask and you will get it! When we got there they showed us unit 5 which only had two beds. We had asked Linda ahead of time for a unit that could accommodate an extra twin bed. When we mentioned this to Epi he hopped right on it and we ended up with Unit 6. It was perfect. Rooms are large & the beds were very comfortable. There is only AC in the bedrooms which took us a bit by surprise but there is a fan in the living area which helped make it a little more comfortable when inside. We asked Epi for a second fan and he showed right up with it. You'll spend most of your time outside. There was a constant breeze which made it lovely to just sit by the pool and see the ocean. The beach was dirty and there was a TON of seaweed. But the staff raked it up every morning right in front of the resort. Because of the seaweed we did not venture out into the ocean. We would have loved to snorkle but the sea was a bit rough the entire time we were there. Epi arranged a snorkle trip with Patrick (he works at the local Marina) but we had to cancel it because the sea was rough. We ate mostly in but did go out for a few meals. We ate at Frog's, Tina's kitchen, Chef Rob's, Belizean Dreams, and a pizza joint right on the main road in Hopkins. All were tasty and we would recommend all of them. We shopped at Happy Store (takes credit cards) & Dong Lee's (cash only). It wasn't what we expected but we were able to get by between the two of them. We also found a bigger grocery store in Belmopan which we shopped at a few times. As far of activities we cave tubed at St. Herman's Cave (highly recommend), went to the Mayan ruins (ask Epi for a suggestion as to which one to visit), and rented dune buggy's from Woogie Buggy (right in town). Lastly, Alvin, Epi & Lisa's son was just charming! Smart and super funny! Super happy that we got to spend 4 days with him. Views=stunning!"

  • Great Villa with unmatched views of Coral Bay St. John

"Villa Mimosa is one of the best houses my wife and I have stayed at, in our almost 30 years of global travel, including Fiji, Hawaii, Aruba and other tropical destinations. The house is well laid out for multiple couples with separate bedrooms and baths. The pool area is a great gathering place and has a truly spectacular view of the Coral Bay harbor. In the evening as the sun sets you can hear the music of the bay side restaurants live music coming up the valley, very peaceful and relaxing. As others have pointed out the access requires a 4 wheel drive vehicle but this is pretty typical for St. John. The kitchen is very well furnished and the outdoor kitchen and grill area are great for preparing home cooked meals. The house is up to date on electronics and Wi-Fi. The on island property managers Jackie and Tom were extremely helpful in anything asked of them. I would be remiss if I didn't also mention the owner (Nancy) for her assistance in making this stay possible. I would rate this as a better bargain than a condo at the St. John Westin resort, unless you want to be on the beach. We look forward to returning to Villa Mimosa in the future."

  • THE PERFECT FIND

"I am not going to repeat the other detailed reviews that rave about this wonderful Villa... It's all true... Let me just state that Sally does EVERRYTHING to make sure that you enjoy your stay.. The communication was superb and, frankly, I abused her email hospitality by asking all sorts of general questions not related to the Villa. Because of Sally and her candid information, we were able to purchase a Villa on Ambergris Caye .. Sally; heartfelt thanks for being a mentor when we needed one. Again, I don't need to repeat all of the glowing praise for this Villa.... It's all true.. We "couldn't" have purchased another Villa so quickly without Sally's help. We were there in February 2015"

Activities and Attractions at Curacao Villas

Curacao is one of the Caribbean’s top underwater and diving destinations. The pristine coral reefs will delight even the most experienced of divers. A highlight of Curacao diving is a site known as the mushroom forest. Here, you can experience a magical underwater forest of giant mushroom-shaped star coral. Some are as large as 10 feet. The diving conditions are ideal and typically, you can enjoy crystal-clear visibility, warm water temperatures, and calm swell conditions. Snorkelers can enjoy the underwater wonders on the shallower reefs. For those who simply want to relax and enjoy the sunshine, there are miles of beautiful sandy white beaches and persistent good weather.

On land, the islands have some unique attractions. The Hato Caves are an intricate network of limestone stalactites and stalagmites. There are also a number of cave drawings which are believed to dates back 1,500 years. For those who enjoy exploring nature trails, the Christoffel National Park has miles of scenic trails for visitors to enjoy. You can photograph wildlife or visit the beautiful cultivated gardens. Willemstad is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The beautiful pastel-colored buildings are unique in that it is the only place outside of the Netherlands where such fine examples of Dutch colonial architecture can be found. Willemstad is a shopper’s delight with boutiques and galleries offering a wide assortment of high-end purchases. It is also an excellent place to enjoy an evening out as there are many fine restaurants in the town.

Best Time of Year to Visit Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Curacao

Curacao enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. Heavy rain falls tend to occur in May and again in October and November; these are generally the off-season months for travelers. The summer months can get very hot which is ideal if you enjoy water sports but perhaps too warm to laze on the beach. The peak travel season is during the moderately cooler months which are from December through April.
