  • Great Vaction Property

"We really enjoyed our week at Villa Harty. The weather was fabulous which made the pool and amenities very enjoyable. Each day we walked on the beach and enjoyed the beautiful view. The accommodations were great and very suitable for 8 adults. We had our own private maid and grounds keeper which were both very attentive and accommodating. We also used the chef for two days and enjoyed being pampered with delicious meals. We went to the village nightly for either meals or drinks and had a great time. There was a wide variety of places to choose from and live entertainment at some of the bars. We were very pleased with our stay and would recommend this location to others and hope to return to this piece of paradise in the future."

  • A taste of Luxury

"First I have to take my hat off to Ivy!! She is the best! The Penthouse is just that a Penthouse off the ocean... Waking up outside on a balcony laying on a bed watching the sunrise PRICELESS! We arrived to celebrate my brothers 50th B-day, his first time in the Dominican. The pictures does this place not enough justice. Ivy did a great job decorating as my friend is a interior designer and he was impressed. The kitchen has everything you need and Janet's supermarket is a short walk away. They also will bring your groceries home for you as well. The place has security and gated, we felt very safe at all times. We actually met a neighbor downstairs who was very nice and kind, and even lent us her Ikea bags to go get groceries. We also went to Ivy's restaurant Onno's, great food great service and right on the beach. This place was great, we had a issue with a toilet but didn't even bother Ivy with as I know she would've responded but it was not even close to being a show stopper plus being a little handy man, it just needed a little jiggle. The view is spectacular the location is awesome 10min walk to kite beach and all the food and bars you need. I would tell anyone to stay here as I think I'm coming back in August. Ivy thanks for letting us share your lovely space!"

  • Amazing Tropical Vacation

"Wave Dance was the perfect vacation. We were a group of 7 young professionals desperate for a vacation and couldn't have asked for a better time. The location of the house is perfect. It is a quick ten minute walk on the beach in to town (bars, restaurants, shops). We walked on the street one day and it took a little longer and was a bit scary. Driving the the DR is an art form and should not be taken lightly! Definitely recommend taking the beach walk vs. street walk. The house is located in a gated community called Bahia Arena. We felt very safe and liked being a little bit away from town because it's quiet at night (town stays very loud Thursday-Saturday). The house is a 2 minute walk to the beach. There are security guards on patrol 24/7 in the front and down by the beach. There is a small coffee shop near the entrance of the community called Cabarete Coffee Company. It is a great place to grab breakfast, lunch or a smoothie. Their coffee was excellent, and we brought some home. The house itself is beautiful. It is a great place to make dinner and relax on the wrap around patio. The upstairs has plenty of windows and we enjoyed the breeze. The house is perfect for a set of 2 families because it has the separated sides/kitchens. The maid came every day and cleaned ,provided us with new towels. She was so nice and so respectful. The house is also stocked with plenty of water. The only downside to our trip was getting sick from the water, but that was probably our own fault from being naive about the water quality. You need to be very careful and use purified water for EVERYTHING. It's east to forget when making coffee, filling the ice trays, and brushing your teeth. The house could use a fresh coat of paint in the bed rooms and the beds were not the most comfortable, but we found these things as minor setbacks. The house is beautiful and newly remodeled. The bathroom were always clean. There is an outdoor shower which is great for after the beach. The pool was refreshing, and we enjoyed grilling and relaxing at the house. The kitchens are stocked with everything you need. There was a tv and wifi, but once you see the wrap around porch- you won't want to use them very much. The beach is a kite boarders dream. We enjoyed walking to the beach each day and watching them all in action. Additionally, every single person working for wave dance is amazing. Anything we needed, they were there in 5 minutes to help us. Thank you Alex for being so awesome!"

  • Paradise.

"This place is phenomenal; highly recommended. We just returned from our first trip to the Dominican Republic. Not only did we learn how to kiteboard (perfect place to learn), we had one of the best vacations ever thanks in large part to this condo, its location, view, tranquility, all the fresh fruits and seafood available, and all the friendly people in the DR. If you’re looking for a spacious place with all amenities you would want in a beach house, an incredible view, in a great location with good security, look no further. Thank you Vern and Lea for making your place available!"

Cabarete Travel Tips

Enjoy the Laid-Back Ambiance at Cabarete Vacation Rentals

Cabarete is a small laid-back Caribbean village located on the northern shore of the Dominican Republic. It’s one of those idyllic retreats that you see in movies but seldom get to experience. Your booking confirmation should come with a warning that you may be tempted to never leave. In fact, many visitors have made this piece of paradise their home. Staying in a vacation home in Cabarete can allow you to experience this life, even if it is just for a short while. The nightlife is vibrant with beach bars, restaurants, discos and casinos staying open late. Mingle with the locals and enjoy some Latin beats on the dance floor. Many visitors to Cabarete are young people looking for a fun-filled vacation and as promised, the island delivers.

Cabarete Travel Tips

The Puerto Plata International Airport is just a 25-minute drive from Cabarete. Taxis provide transport from the airport into town or alternatively, you can hire a car. The airport services a number of North American and European carriers. As an alternative, you can also fly into Santo Domingo, Punta Cana or Santiago. However, getting to Cabarete from these other airports can be time consuming and expensive and therefore not worthwhile. It’s a good idea to get a map of the Dominican Republic before traveling so that you can familiarize yourself with the different areas and travel distances between the cities and towns. When departing from the island, make sure you reconfirm your flight departure time well in advance. Sometimes weather dictates schedule changes so it’s important to check this information before traveling to the airport.

Activities near Cabarete Villas

Cabarete is one of those places that you can enjoy by simply lazing about on the idyllic white beaches or by partaking in a wide variety of activities. Cabarete was put on the map by the kite boarding and windsurfing fraternity. The area was discovered to have the perfect combination of wind and wave conditions to allow excellent windsurfing and kite boarding virtually year-round. On any given day, you can see the colorful sails and kites spread out across the bay. El Encuento Beach is a popular surf spot nearby.

If you’re up for some inland adventure, join a canyoning excursion. Experience nature mixed with some adrenalin thrills that you won’t soon forget. Beautiful natural surroundings, magnificent waterfalls and crystal clear rock pools make for an exciting day out.

Guided mountain biking tours are offered for riders of all levels. If you’re a novice, you can enjoy the island's sights as you cycle around on wide roads and paths. More experienced riders can follow the trails that cut through forests and ascend the rugged terrain that makes up this beautiful island.

A nine-hole golf course is minutes outside of Cabarete and further east is the 18-hole Cabrera Playa Grande Golf course which was designed by Robert Trent Jones. Said to have some of the most beautiful fairways in all of the Caribbean, it’s be one of the most enjoyable rounds you’re likely to play.

The Cabarete Caves are part of the nearby El Choco National Park. The caves contain relics from the Taino natives who inhabited the island prior to the Columbian era. Guided tours will provide you with interesting facts about these early inhabitants.

Cabarete Is a Destination for All Seasons

Located on the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean, Cabarete enjoys a warm tropical climate. Summers are hot and winters hardly even exist. The only difference being that the cooler months have lower levels of humidity. Isolated rain occurs throughout summer but these clear up quickly. The only downside of the weather at Cabarete is that the island is in the hurricane belt and tropical storms occur frequently in the later summer months.
