  • Spring Break

"Thanks to Cindy for a beautiful vacation escape! I am now a rum drinker!!! Wonderful town and beaches close to a beautiful condo that had everything we needed. We were able to experience the Dominican culture in a way that wasn't "Americanized," and allowed us to explore and enjoy the native faire. Using the motorcycle taxis as well as traditional taxis seemed convenient and easy with very respectful drivers. Perfect mix of relaxation, beauty, and fun."

  • Relaxing

"My family and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Victoriano Divino. The place is very well kept and looks nice and the pool right out back was a lot of fun my our kids. We did have problems with keeping the air conditioning working. It was fixed once and worked for a couple of hours before it petered out again. Also, upon arrival the manager wasn't prepared for us. There are always hiccups along the way but overall it was very enjoyable for us."

  • Perfect!

"This was our second stay at this beautiful home. The first time we took our children, who had an amazing vacation and were very upset that we went this year without them! We loved the house and location so much we asked our friends to come share the experience with us this year. The driver Joseph is great and greeted us at the airport. We stopped and picked up groceries on the way to the house. He is also available to take you on tours and such should you want during your trip. A car is not needed while staying here. The house is located in a small gated community, and the manager Mark was there to greet us and always accessible should you need anything. The house is beautifully maintained and updated with nice décor. Ana the maid and the landscaper -sorry, forgot his name- do an exceptional job. The grounds are well kept with lush greenery. The yard is enclosed with a charming stone wall for privacy. The patio is covered and overlooks the pool, with a table and the most comfortable rocking chairs. Truly enjoyed the outdoor living and the feel of the ocean breeze. Beautiful views of the beach and kite surfers could be seen from the upper decks. The pool is simply perfect, sparkling clean and just the right temperature to enjoy day and night. We enjoyed preparing meals at the home, including the grill and the blender to make delightful frozen cocktails. And a short, pleasant walk along the beach to town has many restaurants/bars where you can enjoy a delicious meal with your toes in the sand. The beach is less than a minute walk from the house and is clean, no seaweed, and soft sand perfect for a relaxing stroll. The waves are great to body surf or boogie board. Everything about our trip was perfect and I cannot wait until we can visit again. Thank you to the owners, Chuck and Ronda, for allowing us to share your beautiful home!"

Cabarete Travel Tips

Enjoy the Laid-Back Ambiance at Cabarete Vacation Rentals

Cabarete is a small laid-back Caribbean village located on the northern shore of the Dominican Republic. It’s one of those idyllic retreats that you see in movies but seldom get to experience. Your booking confirmation should come with a warning that you may be tempted to never leave. In fact, many visitors have made this piece of paradise their home. Staying in a vacation home in Cabarete can allow you to experience this life, even if it is just for a short while. The nightlife is vibrant with beach bars, restaurants, discos and casinos staying open late. Mingle with the locals and enjoy some Latin beats on the dance floor. Many visitors to Cabarete are young people looking for a fun-filled vacation and as promised, the island delivers.

Cabarete Travel Tips

The Puerto Plata International Airport is just a 25-minute drive from Cabarete. Taxis provide transport from the airport into town or alternatively, you can hire a car. The airport services a number of North American and European carriers. As an alternative, you can also fly into Santo Domingo, Punta Cana or Santiago. However, getting to Cabarete from these other airports can be time consuming and expensive and therefore not worthwhile. It’s a good idea to get a map of the Dominican Republic before traveling so that you can familiarize yourself with the different areas and travel distances between the cities and towns. When departing from the island, make sure you reconfirm your flight departure time well in advance. Sometimes weather dictates schedule changes so it’s important to check this information before traveling to the airport.

Activities near Cabarete Villas

Cabarete is one of those places that you can enjoy by simply lazing about on the idyllic white beaches or by partaking in a wide variety of activities. Cabarete was put on the map by the kite boarding and windsurfing fraternity. The area was discovered to have the perfect combination of wind and wave conditions to allow excellent windsurfing and kite boarding virtually year-round. On any given day, you can see the colorful sails and kites spread out across the bay. El Encuento Beach is a popular surf spot nearby.

If you’re up for some inland adventure, join a canyoning excursion. Experience nature mixed with some adrenalin thrills that you won’t soon forget. Beautiful natural surroundings, magnificent waterfalls and crystal clear rock pools make for an exciting day out.

Guided mountain biking tours are offered for riders of all levels. If you’re a novice, you can enjoy the island's sights as you cycle around on wide roads and paths. More experienced riders can follow the trails that cut through forests and ascend the rugged terrain that makes up this beautiful island.

A nine-hole golf course is minutes outside of Cabarete and further east is the 18-hole Cabrera Playa Grande Golf course which was designed by Robert Trent Jones. Said to have some of the most beautiful fairways in all of the Caribbean, it’s be one of the most enjoyable rounds you’re likely to play.

The Cabarete Caves are part of the nearby El Choco National Park. The caves contain relics from the Taino natives who inhabited the island prior to the Columbian era. Guided tours will provide you with interesting facts about these early inhabitants.

Cabarete Is a Destination for All Seasons

Located on the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean, Cabarete enjoys a warm tropical climate. Summers are hot and winters hardly even exist. The only difference being that the cooler months have lower levels of humidity. Isolated rain occurs throughout summer but these clear up quickly. The only downside of the weather at Cabarete is that the island is in the hurricane belt and tropical storms occur frequently in the later summer months.
