On any given day, you can see the colorful sails and kites spread out across the bay. El Encuento Beach is a popular surf spot nearby.

A nine-hole golf course is minutes outside of Cabarete and further east is the 18-hole Cabrera Playa Grande Golf course which was designed by Robert Trent Jones. Located on the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean, Cabarete enjoys a warm tropical climate. Summers are hot and winters hardly even exist. The only downside of the weather at Cabarete is that the island is in the hurricane belt and tropical storms occur frequently in the later summer months.
