  • Absolutely Incredible!

"I can truly say that this property, from the initial contact with Frank down the check-out is one of kind. Frank, the owner displays this property accurately and there were no hidden surprises. His responses are timely and even checks on you throughout the stay to ensure that you are enjoying yourselves. The staff; security, maintenance, and maid service are readily available and as friendly as it gets. The WiFi worked great and the property was very clean. The six of us, all in the service industry, travel frequently and would recommend Villa Flamingo and Cabarete to anyone. I read a lot of reviews (not on Villa Flamingo) about Cabarete and surrounding areas being unsafe. We rented a car and traveled to a couple random beaches in San Juan as well as Sosua and not once did we feel unsafe. These little cities/towns are beautiful destinations with a culture one should experience. In terms of tours, we did the waterfalls and atvs. You can do a tour of 7, 12, or 27 waterfalls. We decided to go with 12 and paid an additional $40US to have a tour guide video our experience (well worth the money with a USB provided after). The tour took about three hours with lunch after and a bottle a rum was provided on our trip there. We did a private tour and it cost us about $70US/person. You can negotiate the price, but if you don't then I would suggest using Frank's recommended guide Jose. The ATV tour is located about 100 yards down the street from Villa Flamingo. Again, we weren't the best negotiators and paid about $60/person for a four hour tour. The tour goes on the main street, through a few small towns, up into the farms, and ended on the beach. First time on an atv, don't be alarmed, the guides are helpful and this tour is definitely well worth it. In terms of Cabarete, this town has about twenty little bars and restaurants located on the beach. Spend some time enjoying happy hour and dinner. Lazydog has some of the best fish tacos and Gaia Disco gets pretty busy late at night. They do try and sell you things during happy hour but just kindly say, "no thank you." Be respectful, enjoy the culture, and relax at Villa Flamingo and I can assure you that you won't regret it. Thanks again Frank and staff, From the now snowed in New England crew!"

  • Great home...I would definitely recommend!

"I was traveling solo, so rather than pay double the price at a hotel, I was able to rent this lovely home. It was awesome. The house is beautiful. It is older, but it is big, clean and well worth the money. The pool is beautiful and well kept. Luis is always working his behind off. He was great. The beach is nice, but I would use caution. There is a strong current...didn't bother me as I am use to this and I am a strong swimmer. If you use anddy for tours, I would caution you not to pay up front. Make sure the tour shows up before paying. Also, make sure you nail down times if you are supposed to meet with him. Really enjoyed my vacation and I hope to come back again with some friends."

  • Luxurious comfort, Beauty, Relaxation

"Where to begin about our experience renting Ron and Bette’s luxurious home in Cabarete. I was delighted and relaxed from the very first correspondence I received from Ron when I initially inquired about their property. His witty humor, timely responses, and wonderfully detailed explanations have continued over a period of months as we were planning for this very special trip and had many questions. They went to such great lengths to take care of us that we feel as if we are family. We followed every bit of their advice; from what to pack, where to eat, contacting Carlos for transportation and car rental, contacting Wilson to arrange for a river tour, traveling to the waterfalls, visiting Playa Caleton, making reservations at Natura Cabana, and even where to shop and exchange our money. It was an amazing experience from beginning to end and a vacation we will never forget. My favorite memory is sipping our morning coffee on the balcony and watching people horseback riding along the beach. Playa Caleton has the most turquoise and calm water; a real treasure but the waves we saw crashing along the shoreline from our balcony every day during our stay were spectacular! The view from the moment you open the front door and step inside this home will take your breath away! Not only will you be standing in a very grand, open entryway but you are greeted with panoramic ocean views that entice you to drop your bags at the door, step out onto the balcony and take it all in. The home itself is beautifully decorated and very spacious with three large bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, beautiful tile, and custom painted murals and artwork throughout. The kitchen cupboards are fully stocked; the bathrooms have an abundance of towels, wash cloths, and a hair dryer; the bedrooms are beautifully furnished with plenty of storage for your belongings and comfortable beds piled high with pillows; and there is even a washer and dryer! As if the pool and hot tub located outside aren’t enough, there is a beautiful whirlpool bathtub with a separate walk-in shower in the master suite! And to top it all off, there is a wonderful Dominican woman, Milagros, who will come in to clean and fluff every day (except Sunday)! Seeing her gentle smile and hearing “Hola!” each morning added another level of perfection and personalization to our vacation which Ron and Bette are masters of providing to their guests. Ron and Bette, thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

  • Absolutely perfect vacation spot

"My mother, husband and I stayed for two weeks in December and could not have asked for a better vacation spot. The unit is immaculate, with everything one could need for a relaxing beach vacation. (The only thing that we wanted, that wasn't there, was a toaster and within 24 hours of asking about one, Rainier showed up with a toaster for us.) The beds and pillows were comfy, the towels for the bathroom and the pool of good quality, and the kitchen was stocked with more utensils than we ever would have needed. The staff on site is wonderful, friendly and accommodating. We always felt safe. The location is perfect. It's extremely quiet (at night for sleeping, during the day for relaxing) but less than a 15 minute walk to the center of town. We hope to return next year."
