  • Private beach, beautiful pool, well kept property, excellent location; and NOT an all-inclusive:-)!!

"We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice of lodging during our stay in Punta Cana, and believe me; I walked 4 miles and back in each direction so I saw some of the other options. The beach is one crowded all-inclusive after another! Stanza Mare's private, beautifully maintained, virtually empty beach always had several thatched umbrella covered lounge chairs available. The beach is guarded, so you can leave towels and other items behind if you get up for a walk (although common sense would suggest not leaving valuables). Don't leave your sandles though.... Those stay at the end of the sidewalk ;-). Our unit was exactly as promised and was truly our home away from home during our stay. In fact as soon as we opened the door for a look inside we said in unison "I could live here" :-)! Sure it wasn't perfect. Several of the doors didn't work properly for one reason or another, nor did the lights above the stove, but who in their right mind would expect a rental property to be perfect! The location was ideal. Food and shopping are a walk away; the mall and grocery store are a 30 peso bus ride away. We're the type of travelers who like to explore rather than just sit around, so we didn't need Yves (the local prop mgr) for much, but we knew if we did he'd be there. We know because the first night I locked our valuables in the safe and couldn't get it back open! Yves came by the very next morning to save the day. That was enough for me to forgive him for not picking us up at the airport as promised...:(. We're not clear on why he couldn't get there at the scheduled time, but started our trip in a mini panic when no one was at the airport to greet us. After waiting over an hour we utilized another transport service to get to Stanza Mare. Although we loved the property and its location, we were disappointed in the area in general. With the vast number of all-inclusives there are hardly any dining and drinking options along the beach. We needed something other than a (gorgeous!) beach and a (gorgeous!) pool to occupy our time. We explored some by local bus, and rented a car for 2 days for a drive to La Romana to see a baseball game. We golfed at Iberostar and got a very decent rate by stating we were staying at Stanza Mare. We also did a "Punta Cana Mike" tour which was an excellent way to get outside the property walls and experience DR culture and its people up close and personal. I would highly recommend this property to anyone!"

  • Wonderful, relaxing stay in spacious condo

"Our extended family of 5 spent a very special relaxing time in February in this spacious condo. The location is perfect with a peak of the ocean from the comfortable front patio. The condos are very quiet with only an occasional music from the adjacent all inclusive. A short few steps to a lovely beach in front which is not crowded at all. Our grand daughter loved the sand, waves and the friendly other quests and staff. Pool is right in front, very convenient and not noisy. Across the street we visited the bakery every morning, then bought fresh fruit from the well stocked little store near the bakery. You can walk to Capitan Cook.s via the beach for a terrific seafood meal or enjoy local cuisine like chivo quisado or a variety of Italian dishes at Citrus a short. It's a well appointed condo and a workable kitchen for families that like to cook. We found everything we needed. Monica is super friendly and helpful. I recommend this place highly. No car needed."

  • choose this condo

"We had thought about staying in an all-inclusive resort but chose this condo instead and we are glad we did. The condo is cute and comfortable. The bed was top quality. The shower lovely and the kitchen and laundry were functional. It is all clean and well-maintained. The condo is right on Bavaro beach which is a lovely white sand beach that goes many miles and is great for jogging or taking long walks - day or night. The condo is in the middle of this long beach so we got to explore in both directions. There were great places to eat and shop right on the beach. We ate multiple times at the nearby Thai restaurant - Belicana - because the food was so good and it was just a short walk up the beach. We also took a short walk into the nearby town to get coffee and pastries at the French bakery and to buy fruit off the fruit truck. It was all fresh and delicious. We got internet connection there or at the bar/restaurant next to the condo. The area felt very safe and the complex is patrolled for added protection. There was really no need for a car once Lana picked us up and took us shopping for our food supplies and acclimated us to the area. The condo was a peaceful and beautiful alternative to a resort. We found our own food and fun with no problems."

  • Great people, great place. bad wifi

"Such a good beach apartment. Its a little dated inside compared to some we viewed, but was very well stocked with everything one would possibly need. The bed was comfy, the beach nice- but the real selling point were the people. Such loverly, friendly people in the complex. The only real downside was the wifi. My husband needed to work while there but the connection was so flaky that this never happened. We even had two to choose from. Still- not good enough for work. So if you have work to do, you may want to consider looking elsewhere or planning accordingly"
