"We had such a great time staying there (2 weeks)! The place is very clean (Danni the caretaker cleans the place twice a week), very spacious, a good air flow, and very safe. The kitchen is well equipped, linens and beach towels. Beautiful garden, small swimming pool and gazebo at the back.
The apartment is attached to the main house yet very private.
Costambar is a very quiet gated community, very few traffic, so the area is pleasant to walk around without pollution or traffic noise. Beach is walking distance,10 min, so are the restaurants, 5 min, not a whole lot of choices but "Sole mio" was our favorite!
Getting outside Costambar you can take a motoconcho to the main road C5 or walk, and from there take a guagua (local bus) for a few pesos. 45 min to Sosua , 1 hour to Cabarete, it is worth it and gives you a real local experience!
But more importantly Yash and Hemu are the nicest hosts you can have, extremely helpful and friendly, any questions you can have, feel free to ask. They truly made our stay very special, we enjoyed sharing conversations with them. They are around minding their own life, yet available if you need need anything without being intrusive.
They do care that you are having a good time and that you are not missing anything. We had a few rainy days, actually torrential rains and Yash came to check if we needed anything or needed to go anywhere. On several occasions Yash drove us to the main supermarket in Puerto Plata and the currency exchange for best rate.
This is a place for a peaceful and relaxing stay, and we highly recommend this apartment.
We were sad leaving and of course cannot wait to be back!"

"I recently returned from a week-long paradise at Allen’s ocean-front home. It was beautiful. It is a very spacious house with all of the comforts of home including but not limited to: large bedrooms (2 that look out to the ocean), satellite TV, complimentary WIFI, telephone, roomy kitchen, and air conditioning. Every day started as you’d expect in a tropical paradise: morning coffee on the back patio while enjoying ocean breezes and taking in the view. THAT VIEW!!
Isidro will stop by daily to assure you're enjoying your stay at the house; he couldn’t be nicer. As a further indulgence, Maria-Elena will come by twice (per 1 week visit) to thoroughly clean the house. These services come at no extra cost, but tipping is appreciated (Allen was happy to offer us guidance as to how much we should give). There are plenty of clean linens and towels, the latter which come in handy after enjoying a hot shower in one of the 4 full bathrooms.
With an abundance of restaurants nearby, there is no need to leave the local area. It was lovely to spend days on end walking around the neighborhood and enjoying the local hospitality, not to mention the beaches which are only a minute’s walk from your front door. Having a rental car did come in handy, however, as there is plenty to explore outside of Costambar. The house has a driveway that can easily accommodate two vehicles.
Regardless of the time of day, I always felt safe and found the local residents to be pleasant and likeable. Knowing some Spanish proved helpful though is not required.
This was my first trip to the Dominican Republic and I wouldn't hesitate recommending this home to family and friends. Thanks to my wonderful experience, I'm already looking forward to returning!!"

"Our first trip to the Dominican Republic was one I will never forget. Villa Celeste was amazing!! The location was perfect as we spent many hours down at the beach. Only a short walk to surf school, which had a fun little tiki bar. You have Cabarete, which is an area of bars and restaurants on the beach. That was so unique and fun for all of us. We went to 27 falls, which was a blast and also went on a kayak tour. There is so much do to in Puerta Plata, yet you cherish the times you have at the home with the pool and ocean. Mary will cook the most amazing dominican meals."

"Beautiful condo, nicely furnished and perfect location. The views were incredible.
We had a great time.
Tips for future renters: rent a car, its the best way to get around. Also, there aren't many options to eat inside the complex. Only one restaurant open for the week we were there. The beach restaurant only operated on the weekend basically. The mini market is not a good option, must go to the actual grocery store by the airport (only 10 mins away, but you need a car).
It is the perfect location IF you are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation. We had the place to ourselves, very few people and activity going on, both at the beach and pool. Good to read books and relax all day. I am glad we opted for ocean front. Not only we had the beautiful views, but the access to pool and beach were literally steps away, easy to go back and forth all day.
Jill, owner, was very accommodating!
Overall a great experience that we hope to repeat!"
