  • Great clean lodging

"I make a habit and highly recommend staying in furnished apartments/condos/houses over hotels unless you want the all inclusive with meals, pool etc. I have stayed in furnished apartments/condos and houses in Santiago and Puerto Plata. This was the first in Santo Domingo. Highly recommended. Patricia picked me up from the airport for $40, better than a taxi and with AC, she speaks good English. The apartment is in a nice neighborhood, and the supermarket is a short safe walk away. The internet was high speed and very dependable. I did not have a cell phone for business but was able to function nicely with computer. If I did need to make a call or get a taxi the Haitian security downstairs were very friendly and helpful. Give them a tip 100p and they will arrange anything or call anyone you need. AC is cold, and is in the two bedrooms but not living room. Living room had cross flow ventilation, and for the most part was fine. Nicely furnished. The tv was in the MBR and had good clear cable with American main broadcast stations and NYC local news. No FOX channel. Barceló casino nearby. Beautiful shopping malls not too far. Security deposit was refunded promptly. I would come here again, felt safe and it is a good location."

  • Beautiful Villa

"The resort is more beautiful than the pictures show. We had a group of 24 (12 kids) and we all fit very comfortably. They were responsive to any needs we had and made our parents 50th anniversary amazing. At first we were a bit short staffed to our group size, and then they adjusted when I asked. There are 2 dogs there that were wonderful watch dogs - although they had fleas when we mentioned it they took care of it the next day. Oh, Chef did a great job with the food! With our large group all meals were buffet and we had good variety for all. We did not leave the resort. Bartenders were great and our end bar bill was very reasonable."

  • 8 days in paradise

"This property is exactly as it is pictured and described. You literally are a short walk from everything. we felt secure and at home. Everything you need is right in the condo. The security was friendly and helpful. The view from the balcony was so relaxing we were hard pressed to leave it. The neighbors were very nice also. We had a little difficulty with the TV but the property manager was there the next day and fixed it.I had a gazillion questions prior to our arrival but Massiel and the management answered everyone of them in a very timely manner. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing home away from home, Los Balcones offers that and more. Seriously considering another February trip!"

  • Relaxing Vacation at a Wonderful Villa

"My partner and two teenagers stayed at this great two bedroom villa for our recent spring break vacation. The place provides everything you need to make your stay relaxing and seamless. I advise that you use the airport pick-up/return service they provide for a nominal charge. It makes it easy upon arrival to have transportation along with stopping at the grocery store on the way to the villa to buy food supplies. So when you arrived you are set for your stay and it makes a rental car not a necessity. The beach at the place is excellent with loungers, grass umbrellas and beach towels(from the villa)at your disposal. It is basically a two minute walk to the beach and to most restaurants(grocery and bakery etc) So come ready to relax and enjoy the wonderful place. One FYI - Do bring soap and shampoo as they are not provided. Otherwise you are set!"
