  • Casa Ballena for relaxation, fun, views, and quality time

"Casa Ballena in Guánica is an ideal vacation rental for all the reasons previous visitors have stated and much more. Our family of 8, sometimes 10, arriving from the bitter cold up North, was always comfortable and relaxed. The tropical atmosphere of the quite well-maintained house, the ceiling fans, the air-conditioned bedrooms (especially important in the summer months), the magnificent view of Guilligan Island and the proximity to that paradise, the pool, the lovely gardens with a hardy guayacán tree, the comfortable kitchens with all its tools and gadgets (we took the house upstairs and the full apartment downstairs), the BBQ, the three terraces with dinner tables and chairs and one of them with a sectional sofa too, and the quiet (even on New Year’s Eve), everything made the visit easy and enjoyable. Jeffrey, the administrator, and his family couldn’t have been more helpful. All our questions and requests were promptly answered. There are also nearby must-dos and must-sees: the lovely beaches in Guánica, Cabo Rojo, Salinas; the city of Ponce; the Cabo Rojo lighthouse; and so much more. If you want a relaxing vacation, Casa Ballena is the place to go."

  • Perfect Getaway!

"A group of us stayed at Rabbit Hill over the holiday break this year and had such a fantastic time! The property was everything we could have imagined, and just as described--actually, even better! We stayed for a week and Agnes (property manager) and Winston (grounds keeper) were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. They brought us fresh fruit from the property upon our arrival and Winston cracked coconuts for us each morning he was there so we could have fresh coconut water. Amazing! Most days we went out exploring the island to see all it has to offer, which is a lot! But we were very happy to come home to the serene east coast and Rabbit Hill every evening. Most evenings we made big meals and spent time out on the porch conversing about our adventures that day. Upon the owner's recommendation we had a local woman, by the name of Angela, come and cook us an authentic Bajan meal one night.. and it was absolutely delicious and completely worth it! We all found Barbados to be a spectacular island. For anyone who tends to get a bit nervous traveling internationally and to new cultures (like myself!), Barbados is a great place to visit because the island is filled with really friendly people who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Our whole group was in agreement that if we hadn't stayed at Rabbit Hill, we probably wouldn't have experienced even half of what we experienced on the island. It was our entire group's first time to Barbados and everyone had such an amazing time that on the last day we were all in very solemn moods because we had to leave and go back to our regular lives. We will DEFINITELY be going back to Rabbit Hill again soon.. hopefully for 2 weeks next time!!"

  • Very Solid Choice for Jamaica Exploration Base

"Villa Rendezvous was the perfect location for our party of 10 (5 Adults and 5 Kids) to use as a base for our exploration of the North Coast of Jamaica. The owner, Doug, was a very good source of information prior to our arrival, easy to communicate with, made sure that our arrival transportation was seamless, and that we arrived to a fully stocked, spotless villa. The Villa itself is in a good location, up the hill a ways from the beach, which affords for really good views of probably 10 miles of coastline. The villa's 5 bedrooms, public areas, verandas, pool, grounds, etc. are all top notch, very clean, in very good condition and maintained to a very high standard, you would be hard pressed to find anything that is less than 'excellent' throughout. You are within 30-45 minutes of every attraction you would want to do over the course of the week, and the local beach is great for those days or afternoons that you want to stay local. Good spots for lunch (eat in or take out) are within a 10 minute drive. The Villa staff each perform their tasks in a friendly, unobtrusive manner, and are really a pleasure to have around. Ms. Tiny and Ms. Betsy prepare a really good variety of meals for breakfast and dinner, so good that we only went out twice for dinner. The service they provide during mealtime is excellent, you are truly a guest and made to feel as such. Lawford maintains the grounds, cleans the pool each day, and does a fine job on the grill. Between the three of them, they keep the place absolutely spotless. Hiring Andrew for Transportation for the week is a no brainer, he will prove to be your tour guide for the week, and will take you to a good mix of on and off the beaten path spots. Our entire group of people from age 8 to 76 could not have been happier with our time spent at Rendezvous Villa!"

  • Afraid to write this

"Just 48 hours ago I was sitting on the balcony of Bellevue (ViNiBu) and I can still here the ocean breaking on the beach. I'm hesitant to write this because it will be a rave review and I'm afraid I will create competition for when we want to go back! If you read through all of these reviews you will immediately know that this building and this particular unit, are special and unique. I won't re-hash all the good things previously stated only to say: believe them, they are all true. The unit is clean, comfortable, pleasantly decorated, and fully functional - even a great blender for afternoon frozen beverages! The location is magnificent and boasts one of the few sandy beaches in the area. During the day and evening, with the balcony door and back door open (screens), the breeze flows through and keeps everything very comfortable. We only ran AC to sleep at night. The house reef was as pretty as any dive or snorkel that we did. The location on the Island is ideal. Belmar Dive shop, a few doors down and affiliated with Buddy Dive, is awesome and will help with everything. If this is your first visit to Bonaire I suggest buying the guide book that they sell "Shore Diving Bonaire Made Easy". Written by a local author, this book is perfect whether you are diving or snorkeling. We have visited many places in the caribbean but none are quite like this. In short, ViNiBu is a great condo, in a great location on a great island. Now, just don't try to book it when I want it!!!!"
