  • Enjoyed the Palmyra

"The Palmyra is a high end resort that was apparently foreclosed on a few years ago. There are three 10+ story buildings of rooms, but one of the buildings is not finished. The resort appears to be operated by the bank and/or some people who purchased condominiums there. My family stayed in a first floor condo last week. The condo we stayed in (I think it was room 104) was very high end. The ceilings are about 14 feet high, tile floors, granite countertops, nice kitchen, very nice bathrooms, very nice deck overlooking the ocean and the pool. There are several floor to ceiling windows, the condo is fairly spacious and well decorated. The grounds are very well maintained. The beach is great and the pool is great. It was a little creepy at first because we were they only occupants we saw for the first few days, and the interior hallways are not well lit at night. (The resort is gated and guarded.) However, after a few days we settled in and could appreciate the resort better. There were also a few other families as the week went on. I definitely recommend staying in a condo at the Palmyra rather than one of the all inclusive resorts (Hilton, Hyatt, Holiday Inn) nearby. Of the families we met mid week had also stayed at the Hyatt and said that it was obviously not creepily vacant, but was so crowded that they could barely find a place to sit on the beach. At the Palmyra we had a beautiful beach mostly to ourselves the whole week. There are no restaurants at the Palmyra, and I don't think the nearby resorts allow (or at least the financially discourage) non guests from eating there. However, Montego Bay has a lot of very nice restaurants that are reasonably priced and I am much happier that we explored the costal towns rather than just stay at an all inclusive resort. The Palmyra manager we worked with (Judith) was accommodating and helpful. She also recommended a driver named Richard. (You should not plan on renting a car in Jamaica if you are from the US. The roads are much more narrow than we are used to and the drivers driver differently - not just on the other side of the road, but sort of crazy.) However, Richard was a great driver. He was knowledgeable as a tour guide, a safe driver, and very enjoyable to be with. He also consistently steered us to activities and restaurants that we liked. The only thing we did wrong was not bring our own snorkeling gear. We could not rent decent gear there and we would liked to have done more snorkeling."

  • Our stay in Rincon

"We very much enjoyed our stay in Rincon and the place we stayed was perfect for us. The location of the home was so close to Sandy Beach and places to eat. We could just walk if we didn't feel like driving. The accommodations were very clean and supplied all that we needed for our week stay and the pool was heaven after a day on the beaches surfing. The AC in one of the rooms went out the first night and it was replaced right away. Thank you to The Parsons and the property manager for a very enjoyable stay and we hope to be back next year."

  • Beautiful Home

"Sea Cruz is a beautiful home with a world class view of the Caribbean and St. Thomas. This trip was our second stay at Sea Cruz and we are already talking about booking our third. It’s obvious a lot of thought went into designing, decorating and landscaping Sea Cruz, it feels like home only with a view you could never tire of. My wife and I love to be on the huge porch when the sun is setting over St. Thomas. Very convenient location for the beaches, grocery store and restaurants."

  • Lovely views! Great location! Gorgeous condo!!

"My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Treetops. I wanted to stay in or near RedHook as it has a local feel. June and Steve were very personable and they made us feel right at home. They have lived on the island for many years and are very knowledgeable about places to go. The pictures do not do this condo justice and it is quite nice. It's breezy, airy and rather spacious with an open concept. We will definitely stay here when we return."

Grenada Travel Tips

Getting to Grenada Vacation Rentals

The Point Salines International Airport is located on the southwestern tip of Granada. Most flights in and out of the country are from neighboring Caribbean islands and South and Central America. A handful of international airlines operate direct flights to Grenada from the United States and Europe. If you cannot find a direct flight from your home destination, you may consider routing via Trinidad or Barbados. In season, there is typically a higher flight frequency and it is advisable to make your flight reservations well in advance as direct flights do get booked up very quickly. Once on the island, it is fairly easy to get around. Taxis operate in the main towns and provide airport transfers. Buses offer an affordable way to get around Grenada and operate daily. The local information office will be able to provide you with more information on routes and schedules. There are many car rental agencies on Grenada and this is possibly one of the best options if you want to explore the island sights independently. The roads are generally easy to navigate and maps can be obtained from the rental agencies or the local information office. There is also a ferry service that runs between the main towns on the island.

Activities Available at Grenada Resort Rentals

Grenada is a destination with a wealth of natural attractions. The beautiful beaches are one of the islands big draw cards. Spend your days relaxing on the soft sands and watching the passing crowds. There are many excellent restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy a meal or late afternoon cocktail. Grenada has immaculate coral reefs which are ideal for diving or snorkeling. Enjoy an afternoon cruise on a luxury yacht and stop for a snorkel along the way. Dive charter companies offer dive excursions for certified divers. The diving conditions are some of the best in the Caribbean. Great visibility, warm water temperatures and moderate ocean currents make for a relaxing and enjoyable diving environment. The reefs are spectacular. Colorful hard and soft corals are home to masses of reef fish. On deeper wall dives, you may see some pelagic, turtles, rays and wrasse. Yachting is a favorite pastime and there are many boat charter companies offering cruises as well.

On the island itself, you can keep yourself very busy exploring all the natural wonders. The Grand Etang Lake and Forest Reserve is a beautiful natural resource located high up in the island's mountainous interior. The lush forests are home to a wide variety of wildlife including birds, monkeys, frogs and lizards. The lake is one of the few high altitude lakes in the Caribbean and spectacularly beautiful. There are many different hiking trails that range from a short 30-minute loop to longer day hikes. There are several sporting facilities on Grenada. You can enjoy a game of tennis or round of golf at the Granada Golf and Country Club.
