  • Perfectly describes this housw.

"This home was exactly as described in the listing. We spent 11 wonderful days here with 6 adults and 2 little kids - age 7 and 9 months. The pool was wonderful to have so when the baby was napping we could be in the yard enjoying the pool and the cactus field behind the house. Convenient location to amenities. Owners were wonderful to deal with. The 7 year old had no problem walking through the field behind the house to the beach. We did rent a car and checked out various beaches."

  • Fabulous place to stay and enjoy Grand Cayman!

"Castaway Lodge is an exceptional value in one of the most beautiful settings possible. You enjoy your own private stretch of beach. Try to do that on Seven Mile Beach! The lodge is new and beautifully appointed. The owners have left no detail unattended to, from kitchen gear to beach towels to a phone where you can make local calls. The grounds of Turtle Nest are immaculate and peaceful. My wife and I have been to Grand Cayman many times. The Lodge is the best place we have stayed hands down. We give it a solid six stars for value, and we can't wait to return again. You will not be disappointed!"

  • fabulous house for an incredible vacation!

"This house could not have look truer to the pictures! It was super clean, spacious, comfortable, relaxing, quiet, and luxurious! When we travel (my partner and our friends) we love to have a space to cook and a pool we don't have to share with anyone! Score and score! This home is very modern with every amenity that is needed for a comfy stay including WiFi! The phone and car were icing on the cake they were perfect in helping us get around so we could really enjoy Belize! The house is in ladyville the largest village outside of Belize city. Its literally 10 minutes from the airport which was important to me (but not hardly any plane noise at all!). Its residential so if you are looking for a place "in the action" this isn't the destination for you. But if you are seeking quiet relaxation with an option to drive into the action this place is perfect. Please note the car/van is a standard so if you only drive automatics make sure there is someone in your party who can drive stick! The grocery stores are very close so its easy to get food and water.....sky market is the closest but Brodie's in Belize city is much more like our grocery stores in the states. Both were good. Laura the owner has lots of helpful info in a binder at the house including directions and restaurant and tour reccomendations. We also just left our Fodor's guide book behind for future guests :). The bedrooms were super comfy with AC that we used to sleep at night.....and I must rave about the shower in the master bedroom that was so huge and lovely that now I'm ruined for life on my own tiny shower ;). If anyone is a first time visitor to Belize this is a great location to be close to the jungle and just a ferry ride from the Cayes. Lastly I must mention Darwin the house manager who was so kind and helpful - ONE LOVE DARWIN!! Again I highly recommend this beautiful home!"

Grenada Travel Tips

Getting to Grenada Vacation Rentals

The Point Salines International Airport is located on the southwestern tip of Granada. Most flights in and out of the country are from neighboring Caribbean islands and South and Central America. A handful of international airlines operate direct flights to Grenada from the United States and Europe. If you cannot find a direct flight from your home destination, you may consider routing via Trinidad or Barbados. In season, there is typically a higher flight frequency and it is advisable to make your flight reservations well in advance as direct flights do get booked up very quickly. Once on the island, it is fairly easy to get around. Taxis operate in the main towns and provide airport transfers. Buses offer an affordable way to get around Grenada and operate daily. The local information office will be able to provide you with more information on routes and schedules. There are many car rental agencies on Grenada and this is possibly one of the best options if you want to explore the island sights independently. The roads are generally easy to navigate and maps can be obtained from the rental agencies or the local information office. There is also a ferry service that runs between the main towns on the island.

Best Time of Year to Visit Grenada Villas

Grenada enjoys a year-round tropical climate. Summer months can get very hot; toward the end of the season, tropical storms can blow through. The peak travel season is December through April when the temperatures are milder and the weather is drier.

Activities Available at Grenada Resort Rentals

Grenada is a destination with a wealth of natural attractions. The beautiful beaches are one of the islands big draw cards. Spend your days relaxing on the soft sands and watching the passing crowds. There are many excellent restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy a meal or late afternoon cocktail. Grenada has immaculate coral reefs which are ideal for diving or snorkeling. Enjoy an afternoon cruise on a luxury yacht and stop for a snorkel along the way. Dive charter companies offer dive excursions for certified divers. The diving conditions are some of the best in the Caribbean. Great visibility, warm water temperatures and moderate ocean currents make for a relaxing and enjoyable diving environment. The reefs are spectacular. Colorful hard and soft corals are home to masses of reef fish. On deeper wall dives, you may see some pelagic, turtles, rays and wrasse. Yachting is a favorite pastime and there are many boat charter companies offering cruises as well.

On the island itself, you can keep yourself very busy exploring all the natural wonders. The Grand Etang Lake and Forest Reserve is a beautiful natural resource located high up in the island's mountainous interior. The lush forests are home to a wide variety of wildlife including birds, monkeys, frogs and lizards. The lake is one of the few high altitude lakes in the Caribbean and spectacularly beautiful. There are many different hiking trails that range from a short 30-minute loop to longer day hikes. There are several sporting facilities on Grenada. You can enjoy a game of tennis or round of golf at the Granada Golf and Country Club.
