  • Fabulous Villa, spectacular view

"My wife and I go to a different Caribbean island every winter since 2000. Among all our island trips, we have never stayed in a villa with such breathtaking views - bays, mountains, ocean - all just beyond the expansive patio and crystal clear pool. The villa is located in a very nice, well-groomed residential neighborhood with lovely gardens, and it is quiet and secluded. It is very spacious, clean and well appointed. If you want peace, quiet and beauty, Sunrise villa is the place. In general, you will need a car to get around. There are two restaurants just a few miles away - Le Phare Bleu, and another on a ship in the Phare Bleu marina - but basically all the rest are scattered around the southern end of the island a good 15-25 minute drive away. Same for groceries. The island has many good restaurants, so there are always new ones to try out. Special thanks to Yvonne and Theresa, our hosts, as they did anything and everything they could to make our stay terrific. They could not have been kinder or more helpful."

  • Great Place

"Beautiful house with all the amenities, great layout including outside living area with great views. The constant breeze keeps everything comfortable. Kitchen well-stocked, unlike some rentals. Two master suites makes it ideal for two couples (our situation), and the 3rd BR was very functional. The owner is very helpful and accomodating with infomation and help, as are the on-island staff. Having gotten lost at night looking for a rental at night on another island, the pick-up at the airport as part of the rental is a great idea and indicative of the care shown by the owner to renters. Grenada is a beautiful, interesting and varied island with lovely beaches and decent diving. Really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this house."

  • beautiful, safe and close to nature

"Me and my family of four stayed at Amaryllis House for two weeks over Christmas and New Years, and we had a wonderful time. The house is a special place, beautiful and well kept, perfect if you love nature and want to be in a thoughtfully designed place, and we spent many very enjoyable hours out on the porch enjoying the view. I really liked the location, its rural and in the less touristy part of the island, which i find more interesting but there are nice beaches close and the island is also not that big, so you can get anywhere you want. As I said the house is very well kept, and there is a great guy who lives a stonethrow away, who is the ground keeper and is able to help when there are any issues (such as needing to open the coconuts from the garden and lacking a machete :-), also adding to the place feeling very safe, even though its secluded. Deborah, the extremely helpful owner, arranged for a super nice and extremely helpful driver who picked us up at the airport, i recommend doing that. All around I really think we could not have chosen a better house on this fantastic island and if you consider going to Grenada for your vacation i highly recommend Amaryllis House."

  • So sad to leave ...

"We stayed at the Inside Out guest house for the month of April 2014 and were very sad to leave. Ellen and Stewart were awesome hosts - friendly, funny and helpful in so many ways that enabled us to get the most out of our trip to Grenada and experience the island culture. They were never intrusive, we had plenty of privacy and enjoyable chats with them. We enjoyed Ellen's curry night immensely as well as her selection of preserves some of which came home with us! Having a pay-as-you-go cell phone provided was a great plus for us. The accommodations were wonderful - the view is spectacular; sailboats, amazing sunsets and the twinkling lights of Grand Anse beach below. The pool was lovely and refreshing. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed cooking up breakfast and dinner with all the fresh local produce available in the grocery store and small fruit & veggie stands. There are two nice bathrooms with large tiled showers so we were able to have "his and her" bathrooms. As well there are two large wardrobes so we had plenty of room to store our belongings. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed seeing the lights of grand Anse beach through the window. Sleeping was no issue as it cooled off at night and the many windows allowed the breeze to blow through. Rose, the cleaning lady, did an excellent job of keeping the place spotless for us. Ellen has a separate washing machine for guests and it was heaven to hang our clothes on the line to dry. We wanted to get a lot of exercise while we were in Grenada so we did not rent a car - but that would be a good option. From the main road we often took the local bus/vans to explore and enjoyed it very much. Walking back up the hill is a workout and doing it later in the day is advisable. We took a taxi back up when we bought groceries at the fully equipped grocery store at spiceland mall - a short walk from the beach. Make sure you try the local cooking from the deli ! The walk down to the beach was very enjoyable - once you come to the main road if you turn right and walk a bit down the street past the post office there are steps leading down to the beautiful beach. We took the golf course hill route as it is less steep. Stewart and Ellen's dogs are very sweet and friendly. The property is fenced and gated and the stairs to the upper level are gated at the bottom so the dogs stay at the lower level. We loved our stay at Inside Out and the people of Grenada and were so sad to leave !"
