  • The Perfect Beach House

"The Perfect Beach House Suzie’s Rock is the “Perfect” Beach House. There are so many windows and glass doors that the beautiful turquoise blue ocean is part of your sight line at all times. You are literally on the beach; just step off the deck into sand the colour and texture of powdered sugar. We were lulled to sleep each night by the sound of waves and rustling palm trees outside the window and woke to the rising sun, as the house faces south east. The house is bright, clean and tastefully decorated. Lots of screened windows and high ceilings with fans kept the house so comfortable that we almost never tuned on the air conditioning. The kitchen, though small, has high end appliances, great pots and pans and every conceivable gadget that I ever looked for was there. The bedrooms have very comfortable beds and nice linens. Bathrooms are super clean, great water pressure in the showers, inside and outside too, and more towels than you will need…also lots of beach towels. We did a lot of cooking at home as we were here for eight weeks and my husband loved the Weber gas BBQ on the deck; garbage pickup 2-3 times per week was nice as there is no recycling in the Bahamas. The pictures of the beach on the website do not do it justice…it is a great beach and perfect for swimming and just the right length to walk...about a mile each way with lots of lovely shells. The crescent Treasure Cay Beach [3.5 miles long] is just around the corner and a 5 minute walk away . The house & deck offer a lot of privacy and is in a quiet residential neighbourhood with lots of interesting side roads to bike or walk. We bought a package at the golf course and enjoyed the course; it is challenging. The owners and the property manager could not have been more helpful; Thank You. As you can probably tell by now, we LOVED our stay at Suzie’s Rock and have already booked a return trip for next year ."

  • Relaxation

"Happy Our is one of those places where you're reluctant to give a review because you don't want to give away information on your special place in paradise. In January, we stayed at Happy Our for our second visit with our two college aged children and two friends for a special holiday stay. We all had a great time, hiking, snorkeling, and sunning. The location of the villa is awesome with a view of the serene Hurricane Hole on the left and the big city of Coral Bay on the right separated by historic Fortsberg Hill. It is definitely one of our favorite places and we would highly recommend Happy Our for a vacation stay."

  • Marbella Club

"Our condo at the Marbella Club was pleasant, plenty of room, had everything you would need, a nice condo. The beach was small but enough room to walk on. Unfortunately the palm trees obstruct the view of the beach. Had an issue of a air conditioner leak but that was quickly repaired. The condo owners made everything easy, and all of the staff at Marbella were helpful and friendly(especially Blanca). The whole complex is huge but easy to navigate. Nice restaurants at the plaza, and a good number of activities on the grounds. I would have given a 5 star rating but the mattress in the second bedroom really need to be replaced. After the third night, we awoke with a sore lower backs which lasted the rest of the stay. Her's wasn't a serious as mine but it really limited the activities I wanted to participate in. After arriving back home, soreness went away within a week so no doubt it was the mattress. I'll give a holla to the owner."

  • Magnificent

"I stayed with my whole family and we had a great time right from the moment we arrived. The view is spectacular, you feel like you are on top of the world, you can almost touch the clouds. The house has all the accommodations and amenities you could ask for and more. It is so spacious. We definitely will come again. It was the vacation to remember and will treasure the memories forever."

Guadeloupe Travel Tips

Traveling to Guadeloupe Vacation Rentals

The main airport is located on the southwestern corner of Basse-Terre, two miles from Point á Pitre. The airport hosts a variety of European and North American airlines and has two international terminals. There are direct flights from Paris and New York City. If you are looking for alternative flight routing, you could look into traveling via San Juan on Puerto Rico. There are several ferries and private yacht charters that operate between Guadeloupe and neighboring islands in the Caribbean.

Best Time of Year to Visit Guadeloupe Villas

Guadeloupe is a group of French-governed islands located in the eastern part of the Caribbean. They are sometimes referred to as the butterfly islands because the two largest islands, when viewed together from the air, resemble the shape of a butterfly's wings. The islands have a typically tropical climate with little temperature variation between the seasons. The more differentiating factor is the humidity and rainfall. In the summer months, high levels of humidity and frequent rain showers make the temperatures feel hotter. Occasional tropical storms are also common, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The cyclone season is also typically the low tourist season and this occurs mostly in August and September. From December through April, the air is drier and temperatures therefore feel more moderate. This is most commonly the peak tourist season.

Visitors to Guadeloupe Resort Rentals

Because Guadeloupe is a French foreign territory, the primary local language is French. This therefore attracts many French Canadians and European travelers. It is a vacation destination that has an almost sophisticated air about it, even though it is a tropical island destination. The main cities have high-class shopping malls and the streets resemble those of mainland France. However, when you travel to more remote parts of the island, you can discover a wealth of natural treasures. It is certainly a destination for sun lovers and people who enjoy sandy white beaches and swaying palm trees. Guadeloupe is known for its vibrant nightlife. Local festivals are usually all-night street parties. It is a trendy vacation destination that attracts movie stars and celebrities, especially to the elite island of St. Barthelemy.

Attractions and Activities near Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe has a wealth of natural attractions. Beautiful beaches are what the destination is known for but its natural attractions extend far beyond that. The rainforests are thick and home to many plant and animal species. The island of Basse-Terre has rugged volcanic terrain and is home to the Caribbean's tallest waterfall. The adjacent island of Grand-Terre has a gentler, more undulating landscape. Some of the smaller uninhabited islands are still relatively wild and untamed. The Guadeloupe National Park has more than 180 miles of marked trails that visitors can explore. For birdwatching enthusiasts, you can take an excursion to the mangrove swamps on Grand-Terre and see many different bird species here.

If you are more adventurous, you can take a hike to the top of La Soufriere. This active volcano last made rumblings in 1976. The hike is strenuous and takes approximately 90 minutes to reach the top. Guadeloupe is surrounded by amazing coral reefs and it is ranked as one of the top 10 dive sites in the world. Diving conditions are calm, and the coral and marine life are abundant. Eating out in Guadeloupe is an experience. The cuisine is a blend of island and European flavors that will delight the palate. There are many beach bars and nightclubs where you can enjoy some tasty local rum cocktails.
