  • This place is perfect!

"I can't imagine staying anywhere that would be more perfect! This suite is great. It has everything two people could want....close to the beach, pool, shopping, dining, IGA; has Sirius radio, telephones, tv, laptop, comfy bed, washer/dryer, well-stocked kitchen, bikes, gas grills, and very clean & comfy. Keith was fabulous to do business with. Everything described on this site is accurate. We felt the price was really good considering all the suite has to offer and it's location. Ocean Club West is a beautifully maintained property whose employees work hard daily to keep the gardens and common areas in pristine condition. We can't wait to make a return visit. We loved Providenciales. Thanks Keith for a great vacation!"

  • Engraved in my memories forever

"Armed with my fancy Nikon and two friends I came to celebrate my 40th birthday. What I didn't know is I would spend my evenings starring...awed by the sunset that my 64gb memory came back home barely used. My friends and I had never vacationed together. Seagrape delivered the ultimate comfort that we all were at ease. Well mannered and efficient staff. Clean accomodation. Well manicured gardens privacy from other villas. The private cliff access to the sea made you feel like you were in a millionaire beach mansion in Malindi. We were graced by Dolphins about 100 feet from our cliff. There were maps and directions to remove any rum induced fog. Walking distance to the Rick's cafe and short drive to the 7mile beach...if you find it in you to leave the residence. There were a few rainy days.....all 15 mins of it were welcome to calm down the heat for the evening. Juicy was timely with his meals as requested and cook he can. Thank you for the fresh flower arrangements in each room.....something about the bougainvallea. Only regret is that we did not stay longer. A definate must do again vacation and am bringing my family along this time."

Guadeloupe Travel Tips

Traveling to Guadeloupe Vacation Rentals

The main airport is located on the southwestern corner of Basse-Terre, two miles from Point á Pitre. The airport hosts a variety of European and North American airlines and has two international terminals. There are direct flights from Paris and New York City. If you are looking for alternative flight routing, you could look into traveling via San Juan on Puerto Rico. There are several ferries and private yacht charters that operate between Guadeloupe and neighboring islands in the Caribbean.

Best Time of Year to Visit Guadeloupe Villas

Guadeloupe is a group of French-governed islands located in the eastern part of the Caribbean. They are sometimes referred to as the butterfly islands because the two largest islands, when viewed together from the air, resemble the shape of a butterfly's wings. The islands have a typically tropical climate with little temperature variation between the seasons. The more differentiating factor is the humidity and rainfall. In the summer months, high levels of humidity and frequent rain showers make the temperatures feel hotter. Occasional tropical storms are also common, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The cyclone season is also typically the low tourist season and this occurs mostly in August and September. From December through April, the air is drier and temperatures therefore feel more moderate. This is most commonly the peak tourist season.

Visitors to Guadeloupe Resort Rentals

Because Guadeloupe is a French foreign territory, the primary local language is French. This therefore attracts many French Canadians and European travelers. It is a vacation destination that has an almost sophisticated air about it, even though it is a tropical island destination. The main cities have high-class shopping malls and the streets resemble those of mainland France. However, when you travel to more remote parts of the island, you can discover a wealth of natural treasures. It is certainly a destination for sun lovers and people who enjoy sandy white beaches and swaying palm trees. Guadeloupe is known for its vibrant nightlife. Local festivals are usually all-night street parties. It is a trendy vacation destination that attracts movie stars and celebrities, especially to the elite island of St. Barthelemy.

Attractions and Activities near Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe has a wealth of natural attractions. Beautiful beaches are what the destination is known for but its natural attractions extend far beyond that. The rainforests are thick and home to many plant and animal species. The island of Basse-Terre has rugged volcanic terrain and is home to the Caribbean's tallest waterfall. The adjacent island of Grand-Terre has a gentler, more undulating landscape. Some of the smaller uninhabited islands are still relatively wild and untamed. The Guadeloupe National Park has more than 180 miles of marked trails that visitors can explore. For birdwatching enthusiasts, you can take an excursion to the mangrove swamps on Grand-Terre and see many different bird species here.

If you are more adventurous, you can take a hike to the top of La Soufriere. This active volcano last made rumblings in 1976. The hike is strenuous and takes approximately 90 minutes to reach the top. Guadeloupe is surrounded by amazing coral reefs and it is ranked as one of the top 10 dive sites in the world. Diving conditions are calm, and the coral and marine life are abundant. Eating out in Guadeloupe is an experience. The cuisine is a blend of island and European flavors that will delight the palate. There are many beach bars and nightclubs where you can enjoy some tasty local rum cocktails.
