  • What a great villa

"Just returned from a wonderful beach side villa for three weeks. Antonio was an excellent host. He met me at the villa showed me around and made me feel very comfortable. I had asked him for his recommendations on beaches and within 24 hours he had sent me a text with everything that I needed. Antonio was ready to answer any questions that I had. The fact that I was able to use the beach and chairs at the Embassy Suites made this an extremely accommodating place. The neighbors were extremely welcoming and made me feel right at home. To wake up every morning to have my morning coffee with a magnificent view of the ocean was spectacular. The villa was extremely clean upon my arrival. You are approximately 35 minutes from San Juan but honestly there is so much to see and do east of Dorado. The town is only a couple of minutes drive from the villa with good restaurants, grocery stores, and drug stores. I am already looking forward to going back next year."

  • Excellent location, spacious accommodations and a personal concierge!

"My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights. The villa is beautifully decorated and has everything a couple could need. Location is perfect too! A short walking distance from Rodney Bay with a few morning gems. The felly belly smoothie bar and both coffee shops are excellent. There are also a ton of restaurants and 3 grocery shops. Use trip advisor for restaurant selections. Stay in top 10. Spice of India was fantastic. Flavors in gros islet too! Beware: island time is a real thing. Average waiting time 30-45min for food. Sometimes 10-15 to get a drink. But just relax and enjoy the slow pace. As far as things to do, the bay gardens hotel has a shuttle which brings you to bay gardens resort. They have a beach, pool, bar, water sports, music and food options. Make sure to get towels at the hotel beforehand. They also have a concierge that can book day trips and tours. Book early. Reid, the owner was also GREAT. He arranged a private local chef to cook us a special 8 course dinner in the villa, a couples massage at a local spa, the local yoga center schedule and even a helicopter ride back to the airport. **If you can, arrange a helicopter ride to and from airport. Taxi ride is definitely scary and about 1.5-2 hours. I thought it would be nice to see the city and it was; however, there is one lane in and one out. The roads are excessivly curvy up and down the mountains and most everyone we spoke too had the same experience. Drivers are super friendly but the helicopter ride is 10 minutes and worth every penny!! $165per person US. Everyone speaks English and US currency is taken everywhere although it helps to convert to EC."

  • Paradise Found!

"My now husband and I went to Aruba for the first time 4 years ago. We returned two years ago and my then boyfriend proposed in the place that we both love so much. When it came time to start planning our wedding, a destination wedding has always been a dream. Aruba, we both knew, was the place we wanted to be married. Instead of going to the hotels, we wanted a place where our close family and friends could stay with us and just enjoy and celebrate in this special time. I began looking on VRBO and found Marie’s house. Just by looking at the pictures I was in love. I contacted Marie immediately as we were looking to stay near the hotels and by the description I knew this would be the right place. I did send other inquiries out as well but did not receive the genuine and quick response like I did from Marie. She helped me plan EVERY detail of not only my trip, but guided me with all the wedding details as well. She put me in contact with a wedding planner who helped with the ceremony piece of our wedding. Marie then helped me with the reception. She called various restaurants to get menu and pricing details, then spoke with me on the phone for many hours to review the information. When we came to a decision, Marie called the restaurant to make our reservations and set up all the necessary details that we had discussed. She helped relieve so much of the stress of planning a destination wedding! Marie also generously helped with making our hair appointments for the day of as well as finding us a wonderful photographer. I don’t think our wedding would have been such a success if it wasn’t for her guidance and help. Marie also helped get my family and friends homes to stay in around her house. When we arrived in Aruba, Marie had the buses waiting for us to bring us to the homes where we were staying. We arrived at Marie’s house and we were ecstatic. The house was spotless and had everything that was listed as amenities. We had plenty of room for the 6 of us staying at the house. The grounds and pool are just fantastic. We had a dream wedding weekend. All of our plans were set out for us, including dinners and activities before we arrived! I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a spectacular Aruba experience. The location, home itself and owner go above and beyond your wildest dreams!"

Guadeloupe Travel Tips

Traveling to Guadeloupe Vacation Rentals

The main airport is located on the southwestern corner of Basse-Terre, two miles from Point á Pitre. The airport hosts a variety of European and North American airlines and has two international terminals. There are direct flights from Paris and New York City. If you are looking for alternative flight routing, you could look into traveling via San Juan on Puerto Rico. There are several ferries and private yacht charters that operate between Guadeloupe and neighboring islands in the Caribbean.

Best Time of Year to Visit Guadeloupe Villas

Guadeloupe is a group of French-governed islands located in the eastern part of the Caribbean. They are sometimes referred to as the butterfly islands because the two largest islands, when viewed together from the air, resemble the shape of a butterfly's wings. The islands have a typically tropical climate with little temperature variation between the seasons. The more differentiating factor is the humidity and rainfall. In the summer months, high levels of humidity and frequent rain showers make the temperatures feel hotter. Occasional tropical storms are also common, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The cyclone season is also typically the low tourist season and this occurs mostly in August and September. From December through April, the air is drier and temperatures therefore feel more moderate. This is most commonly the peak tourist season.

Visitors to Guadeloupe Resort Rentals

Because Guadeloupe is a French foreign territory, the primary local language is French. This therefore attracts many French Canadians and European travelers. It is a vacation destination that has an almost sophisticated air about it, even though it is a tropical island destination. The main cities have high-class shopping malls and the streets resemble those of mainland France. However, when you travel to more remote parts of the island, you can discover a wealth of natural treasures. It is certainly a destination for sun lovers and people who enjoy sandy white beaches and swaying palm trees. Guadeloupe is known for its vibrant nightlife. Local festivals are usually all-night street parties. It is a trendy vacation destination that attracts movie stars and celebrities, especially to the elite island of St. Barthelemy.

Attractions and Activities near Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe has a wealth of natural attractions. Beautiful beaches are what the destination is known for but its natural attractions extend far beyond that. The rainforests are thick and home to many plant and animal species. The island of Basse-Terre has rugged volcanic terrain and is home to the Caribbean's tallest waterfall. The adjacent island of Grand-Terre has a gentler, more undulating landscape. Some of the smaller uninhabited islands are still relatively wild and untamed. The Guadeloupe National Park has more than 180 miles of marked trails that visitors can explore. For birdwatching enthusiasts, you can take an excursion to the mangrove swamps on Grand-Terre and see many different bird species here.

If you are more adventurous, you can take a hike to the top of La Soufriere. This active volcano last made rumblings in 1976. The hike is strenuous and takes approximately 90 minutes to reach the top. Guadeloupe is surrounded by amazing coral reefs and it is ranked as one of the top 10 dive sites in the world. Diving conditions are calm, and the coral and marine life are abundant. Eating out in Guadeloupe is an experience. The cuisine is a blend of island and European flavors that will delight the palate. There are many beach bars and nightclubs where you can enjoy some tasty local rum cocktails.
