  • Christmas Week at VOG was AMAZING!

"Our first time away for Christmas, and we had an absolute awesome vacation. This condo is clean, spacious, and has a perfect view of the beach, where we spent each morning having coffee and breakfast. The beds were so comfortable, the bathrooms spotless, the kitchen well equipped, and the internet even reached the beach! ( the teenagers loved that ) Ralph and Lisa ( front desk ) were easy to work with. The Ritz to the left, and the Westin to the right, were VERY VERY crowded. Our VOG beach was never crowded and we could always find chairs, sun or shade no matter the time of day.We would recommend VOG to anyone and everyone, though we want to keep it a secret too."

  • Marvelous!!!

"My family and I absolutely fell in love with Bella Mare and St. Maarten. The condo is wonderful and very safe. It is also convienent. There are many restaurants and shops close by and the view is amazing. One of my favorite parts of the trip was to wake up and go outside on the lanai and have breakfast while listening to the waves. The sunset at night is so relaxing. The condo is well-equipped and very roomy. My husband is disabled and appreciated the single story accommodations. Would highly recommend this villa!!! We can't wait to come back!"

  • Even Exceeded Expectations

"We loved staying at the gorgeous villa and in this area....convenient to restaurants, beaches, etc. It was every bit as beautiful as the pictures. Our two daughters (ages 17 and 23) were with us and appreciated the speedy internet. After all day on the beach, it was lovely to dip in our quiet, private pool before leaving for fantastic dinners in the area. I highly recommend and even hope to stay again this spring!"

  • We loved Chateau Relaxo!

"We had a great stay at your condo in St. Thomas. The condo was very nicely appointed, clean, and just perfect for my husband and I. It was so nice having all the comforts of home with a full kitchen and other things needed for a vacation like beach chairs, cooler, etc. We also loved the wrap around deck and incredible view. We spent a lot of time out there gazing at the sights. And what a perfect perch on the island! East end is the way to go. We enjoyed Red Hook and the many restaurants. Pesce and XO Bustro were among our favorites. Island Time Pub was also great. Beaches there are incredible. I've never seen such crystal clear water. Lindquist was a great close beach along with Coki. We also loved Magen's Bay. We took the car barge to St. John one day and toured the island. We went to Cinnamon Bay Beach and a few other hot spots. That's a gorgeous island and we needed more time there! We also did a day tour to a few BVIs. Jost Van Dyke was our favorite. We truly enjoyed our stay and it was hard to leave. I'm sure we'll be back!"

Guadeloupe Travel Tips

Traveling to Guadeloupe Vacation Rentals

The main airport is located on the southwestern corner of Basse-Terre, two miles from Point á Pitre. The airport hosts a variety of European and North American airlines and has two international terminals. There are direct flights from Paris and New York City. If you are looking for alternative flight routing, you could look into traveling via San Juan on Puerto Rico. There are several ferries and private yacht charters that operate between Guadeloupe and neighboring islands in the Caribbean.

Best Time of Year to Visit Guadeloupe Villas

Guadeloupe is a group of French-governed islands located in the eastern part of the Caribbean. They are sometimes referred to as the butterfly islands because the two largest islands, when viewed together from the air, resemble the shape of a butterfly's wings. The islands have a typically tropical climate with little temperature variation between the seasons. The more differentiating factor is the humidity and rainfall. In the summer months, high levels of humidity and frequent rain showers make the temperatures feel hotter. Occasional tropical storms are also common, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The cyclone season is also typically the low tourist season and this occurs mostly in August and September. From December through April, the air is drier and temperatures therefore feel more moderate. This is most commonly the peak tourist season.

Visitors to Guadeloupe Resort Rentals

Because Guadeloupe is a French foreign territory, the primary local language is French. This therefore attracts many French Canadians and European travelers. It is a vacation destination that has an almost sophisticated air about it, even though it is a tropical island destination. The main cities have high-class shopping malls and the streets resemble those of mainland France. However, when you travel to more remote parts of the island, you can discover a wealth of natural treasures. It is certainly a destination for sun lovers and people who enjoy sandy white beaches and swaying palm trees. Guadeloupe is known for its vibrant nightlife. Local festivals are usually all-night street parties. It is a trendy vacation destination that attracts movie stars and celebrities, especially to the elite island of St. Barthelemy.

Attractions and Activities near Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe has a wealth of natural attractions. Beautiful beaches are what the destination is known for but its natural attractions extend far beyond that. The rainforests are thick and home to many plant and animal species. The island of Basse-Terre has rugged volcanic terrain and is home to the Caribbean's tallest waterfall. The adjacent island of Grand-Terre has a gentler, more undulating landscape. Some of the smaller uninhabited islands are still relatively wild and untamed. The Guadeloupe National Park has more than 180 miles of marked trails that visitors can explore. For birdwatching enthusiasts, you can take an excursion to the mangrove swamps on Grand-Terre and see many different bird species here.

If you are more adventurous, you can take a hike to the top of La Soufriere. This active volcano last made rumblings in 1976. The hike is strenuous and takes approximately 90 minutes to reach the top. Guadeloupe is surrounded by amazing coral reefs and it is ranked as one of the top 10 dive sites in the world. Diving conditions are calm, and the coral and marine life are abundant. Eating out in Guadeloupe is an experience. The cuisine is a blend of island and European flavors that will delight the palate. There are many beach bars and nightclubs where you can enjoy some tasty local rum cocktails.
