  • Get Away in Paradise

"My wife and I finally took a vacation on our own…no kids, just the two of us. We had done some research on Belize and liked what we saw. After further research and reading reviews we chose Sarkiki Reef Resort, and glad that we did! Sarkiki Reef was exactly how we imagined it to be from the pictures we saw on line…gorgeous! The rooms are large, clean and well maintained. The views from our patio and deck were incredible. There seemed to be a nice gentle breeze every day. The staff were very nice and always smiling, there when you need them but never in the way. The pool area is great, very clean and quiet with great views of the ocean and beach just steps away. The beach was clean, no sand fleas, the rooms and grounds also all bug free. It was great. We recommend using the local fishing guides (Patrick was our guide) if you want to actually catch fish! A great day on the water with Patrick (recommended by Linda from Sarkiki) snorkeling, swimming and fishing. Amazing waters, the underwater plant life and tropical fish were incredible! Other guests at the resort were very friendly and always ready to hear about the days adventures. It was a great “get away” and we would go back in a heartbeat."

  • Amazing Stay

"The villa was amazing lots of room the two bathrooms were a plus we got a kick out of the bidet that's something u don't see very often especially in Puerto Rico lol the 3 bedrooms were spacious the air conditioners made it even more comfortable we went with our grandchildren & other family members we had a great time the beds were awesome the place was packed with everything we needed in the kitchen including a washer & dryer! lots of pillows & blankets to go around we loved the upstairs patio the view was wonderful nice and breezy it was nice to be able to park your car right in front of the villa a short distance from the outside door leading into it, it was a good location for us because we have family that lives nearby so it made so much easier to visit with them we went to the nearby beaches and restaurants unfortunately our stay was short (work and school prevented us from staying longer) so we didn't get to do as much as we wanted to do but we still had lots of fun there's so much more we want to say that it'll probably turn into a book lol we definitely hope to stay here again for a longer time of course:) Thank you Lourdes for accommodating us with such a beautiful place:-) talk to you soon"

  • Amazing Ocean Views - great breezes - PERFECT !

"This condo exceeded all expectations. The accommodations were perfect - clean, well appointed and convenient. We loved the golf cart which was furnished. We were able to explore all the wonderful beaches the owner told us about. The kitchen was fabulous. The owners did not skimp on furnishing the kitchen. Thank you! The views from the balconies with the wonderful ocean breezes were therapeutic. We leave tomorrow. I don't want to go. I would highly recommend this condo."

  • A Beach Walkers Dream.

"Las Dunas Condos are approx 45 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes to the town of Bavaro (super market and restaurants) so a car is needed for extended stays. The condo complex has 30 units (5 buildings of 6 units) that surround a beautiful pool area. Lots of open space and beach space. You are never crowded The area is a beach walkers dream as you can walk for miles either direction, passing All Inclusive Resorts, 2 restaurants and locals selling their wares. Most of the beach is undeveloped, natural and beautiful. The condo was very spacious with a wonderful balcony overlooking the beach and ocean. Bed was very comfortable. The pictures accurately depict the condo and grounds. The property manager Rafael and his assistant Marcia were very helpful with all our needs and can set up excursions and diner reservations. The condo owners in residence are very helpful with local knowledge. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay a Las Dunas and would recommend it to anyone vising the Dominican Republic."

Guadeloupe Travel Tips

Traveling to Guadeloupe Vacation Rentals

The main airport is located on the southwestern corner of Basse-Terre, two miles from Point á Pitre. The airport hosts a variety of European and North American airlines and has two international terminals. There are direct flights from Paris and New York City. If you are looking for alternative flight routing, you could look into traveling via San Juan on Puerto Rico. There are several ferries and private yacht charters that operate between Guadeloupe and neighboring islands in the Caribbean.

Best Time of Year to Visit Guadeloupe Villas

Guadeloupe is a group of French-governed islands located in the eastern part of the Caribbean. They are sometimes referred to as the butterfly islands because the two largest islands, when viewed together from the air, resemble the shape of a butterfly's wings. The islands have a typically tropical climate with little temperature variation between the seasons. The more differentiating factor is the humidity and rainfall. In the summer months, high levels of humidity and frequent rain showers make the temperatures feel hotter. Occasional tropical storms are also common, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The cyclone season is also typically the low tourist season and this occurs mostly in August and September. From December through April, the air is drier and temperatures therefore feel more moderate. This is most commonly the peak tourist season.

Visitors to Guadeloupe Resort Rentals

Because Guadeloupe is a French foreign territory, the primary local language is French. This therefore attracts many French Canadians and European travelers. It is a vacation destination that has an almost sophisticated air about it, even though it is a tropical island destination. The main cities have high-class shopping malls and the streets resemble those of mainland France. However, when you travel to more remote parts of the island, you can discover a wealth of natural treasures. It is certainly a destination for sun lovers and people who enjoy sandy white beaches and swaying palm trees. Guadeloupe is known for its vibrant nightlife. Local festivals are usually all-night street parties. It is a trendy vacation destination that attracts movie stars and celebrities, especially to the elite island of St. Barthelemy.

Attractions and Activities near Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe has a wealth of natural attractions. Beautiful beaches are what the destination is known for but its natural attractions extend far beyond that. The rainforests are thick and home to many plant and animal species. The island of Basse-Terre has rugged volcanic terrain and is home to the Caribbean's tallest waterfall. The adjacent island of Grand-Terre has a gentler, more undulating landscape. Some of the smaller uninhabited islands are still relatively wild and untamed. The Guadeloupe National Park has more than 180 miles of marked trails that visitors can explore. For birdwatching enthusiasts, you can take an excursion to the mangrove swamps on Grand-Terre and see many different bird species here.

If you are more adventurous, you can take a hike to the top of La Soufriere. This active volcano last made rumblings in 1976. The hike is strenuous and takes approximately 90 minutes to reach the top. Guadeloupe is surrounded by amazing coral reefs and it is ranked as one of the top 10 dive sites in the world. Diving conditions are calm, and the coral and marine life are abundant. Eating out in Guadeloupe is an experience. The cuisine is a blend of island and European flavors that will delight the palate. There are many beach bars and nightclubs where you can enjoy some tasty local rum cocktails.
