"My boyfriend and I found this place on a whim when we had to scramble to find a location after a trip to Belize fell through. We decided on this unit immediately after looking at the listing. We could not have asked for more. The pictures of the unit are very accurate, it is clean, modern, and comfortable. The location is on the far end of St. Thomas on the east end closest to St John. We did not rent a car, but getting around in taxis is easy and Red Hook is a 3 minute cab ride or a 10 minute walk. From Red Hook the Ferry to other islands is super easy and affordable. The condo complex (Sapphire Bay) is quite large but for the size is surprisingly quiet. This unit is on the ground floor and literally opens right to the bay and the water is right there. We were told by several other visitors that the complex was at one point in the late 80's quite the party destination. It has since quieted down which is exactly what we were looking for. It clearly has not been kept up well as a whole property - the restaurants and bars of the past are boarded up and closed. The large pool is still maintained for use, but it is nothing more than a pool with some random lounge chairs about. The beach for Sapphire guests is a pretty good size and the swimming is beautiful as is the snorkeling right in this bay. This unit was a perfect point for us to call home base and get around to other places and return for quiet and relaxation and almost a private beach experience every night. I recommend HIGHLY visiting St. John. It is by far a more tropical destination as most of the island is US National Park land. The Ferry ride is 10 minutes and 8.00 US per person in each direction. Red Hook restaurants are AWESOME (go to the Tap and Still for burgers and hand cut fries). The owner of this unit was was easy to reach and email with when we had a couple questions about getting on the WIFI and some random other items. For the price, this place is an absolute dream and we will likely return in the future. THANKS!"

"We loved this condo. The size was perfect for 2 couples and was incredibly well equipped and comfortable. The location was perfect. We enjoyed the restaurant right next door, rented stand up paddle boards on the beach, enjoyed watching the boats come into dock, and walked to nearby Rum Point and along neighboring beaches. We also took the Stingray tour and kayaked the bio bay from Rum Point. It was nice to be away from the roundabouts and business of Gergetown. The outdoor pool was lovely, and we spent many hours lounging on the beach right in front of the Condo. This was one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had. The owner was very easy to deal with, and the property manager in Cayman, Barbara, was fabulous."

"our stay at tamarind villa was absolutely wonderful. when we arrived, tiina was at the airport to greet us and take us by the store to get supplies. she then took us on to the house and gave us the tour. she was not intrusive at all which we greatly appreciated and she answered the phone immediately and gave great advice when we called her. we have traveled to many islands over the last 15 years and this is the only house that we have stayed in that truly was cooled by the trade winds! I am an A/C gal, and I never once turned it on at tamarind villa. those who know me, know that is saying a lot. my sister and I truly mourned the loss of the feel and sound of that glorious breeze blowing through our rooms at night! the house was also one of the most well stocked houses we have stayed in during our travels. the owners have taken great care to make sure you have what you need for beach time, pool time, and so on. the views of leverick bay from the house are just beautiful and we enjoyed watching the sail boats and yachts come in and out of the bay each morning and evening. it was also so fun that we could hear and enjoy the music and fun going on down at jumbies some nights. we went down to jumbies one evening and it happened that the travel channel was there filming a show about Michael beans the singing pirate. what unexpected fun for us!! we also loved watching the beautiful hummingbirds, bananaquits and the pearly-eyed thrashers that stayed around the house and pool. we were amazed when we put out sugar water as suggested by the owners. the bananaquits just flocked to it. so fun to watch and to video! this was our second visit to beautiful virgin gorda and I don't know if we will get back there again as we have so much more to see and explore, but if we were to go back...we would definitely stay at tamarind villa. thank you so much for the use of your wonderful home!
