  • Wonderful people, as well as a great home for your enjoyment!

"Miss Veronica was a joy to deal with in making arrangements, since we went off season, she did make some adjustments to the cost, which frankly allowed us to be able to stay a couple more days. She is very responsive to all your emails. Do not change money at the airport...wait to go into Duncans or change only a small amount for a day while you settle in. We had the pleasure of meeting Johnny, who was our driver and guide while there. He was very punctual, not to mention kept his vehicle very clean. If you make arrangements for him to take you somewhere, be sure to agree on cost prior to your excursion. He was gracious in taking us to the store close to the airport when we arrived, that store had many "American" items however, I would recommend taking to Miss Iris to plan meals before buying too much stuff. This place is kept in immaculate condition. Ms. Veronica has a keen eye for picking the best staff! Our vacation would not have been as rich had it not been for Miss Iris, who made all of our meals (which were outstanding); shared local traditions; as well as suggested things to do. I left feeling like I had a new family member. If you get the chance to have Miss Sandra cook for you, her jerk chicken was much better then the restaurants. Lest I not forget to mention Mr. Curtis who took care of the grounds and always had a smile to share, as well as stories about Jamaica. I would recommend sending a shopping list in advance of your arrival, although Miss Iris did a great job of having somethings on hand. Make sure you buy PLENTY of bottled water, you will need it, Also try the High Mountain coffee, 1/2 the price of Blue Mountain coffee, yet the same flavor. Anything you need or want, talk to Miss Iris, she can let you know where to get the best of everything while saving you money. There are local beachcombers who sell handmade wood carvings which were greatly appreciated when I returned. The beach is beautiful and pristine. Make sure you hit Leroy's down the beach at night for some reggae/drinks-they are a family run business who welcomes people with open arms. Make sure you travel with a group at night...this is a third world country in a depressed economic condition. We were two women alone, so had to be very aware of our surroundings. Miss Iris; Johnny and Mr. Curtis all made sure we were safe and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend this villa for your stay, as I plan to be back sooner rather than later."

  • Lovely relaxing vacation

"We really enjoyed staying at Marian's place. It is clean and comfortable, and the staff, and Marian's recommendations for other people--especially Kristy's taxi service--were great. Cathy made us a great meal of curried chicken and rice and beans. We would have had her cooked more. We liked the location very much--we thought of renting a car but decided we didn't need one. Glenn's across the street was a good place for any meal. Not much of a beach at this place but you can easily walk to Bamboo (previously Reggae Beach) Beach. Take a route taxi to Moxon's just to the east, which has stunning views and good restaurant and snorkeling. Walk to the spa at Couples Tower Island resort nearby for a very luxurious massage (we got a day pass for there too which is pricey at $100 per person, but lots of free food, drinks and activities for the price). Best of all Toscanini is right down the road. We explored outside of the immediate area a little bit, but mostly stayed in the neighborhood nearby. We were happy with our choice to stay in this modest but very comfortable accommodation, and spend money going out."

  • Had an amazing time.

"We were two families sharing the villa. 4 adults and 5 children. The location is great and being that it's a villa u get the resort staff but privacy of a home with a huge private pool. Beach access is a snap even though you are crossing a major road. Drivers actually stopped several times to let us cross. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because it really should have an outdoor bbq grill. I am already trying to figure out how to get back to this villa. Negril is awesome and this villa is right near all the action. Loved all the spots on the beach. Very friendly staff"

  • Peace and tranquility

"If you are looking for tranquility, beauty and peace, you will find it at Idle Hours. The setting is spectacular, completely modern and functional, with good taste. You can waste away your days in a book on the private beach. The staff are welcoming, flexible and open to suggestions, whilst unobtrusive. A few days at Idle Hours will leave you refreshed and reenergized."
