Great getaway for family and friends
"While visiting Jamaica, our friends invited us to join them for the weekend at Idlehours! Since our arrival the staff made us feel so welcome and the warm weather, combined with a refreshing beverage really summed up the perfect Jamaican get away. Everyday we were spoiled with breakfast, lunch and dinner on the veranda, 10 meters from the clear, warm caribbean water. There is great snorkeling right in front of the villa and to end a perfect day we were just hanging in the water, watching the sun go down. On our last evening we were treated with a romantic bonfire on the beach.. A sincere word of thanks to the staff for making our visit so memorable. We hope to be back soon..."

"We have visited Rainbow Tree Villa every other year for the last decade. Our first trip was with a group of friends, but we brought our kids and parents for our second visit. Over the years, we have vacationed with couples and families, all with great success. Rainbow Tree has something for everyone.
From the time Aman picks you up at the MoBay airport, you know that this is no ordinary vacation. The route through the mountains is the real Jamaica, most of it still primitive and unspoiled. (Stop at Border Jerk for some jerk pork or chicken)! When you reach Rainbow Tree, you will be greeted by the world’s nicest people who will make you feel right at home. When you wander through the villa and walk out onto the back veranda, you will be stunned by the view of the ocean over the bluff and the natural beauty of the area. This is truly getting away from it all -- your biggest decision will be whether to swim in your private pool or take the steps down to the private beach cove. This is not a resort area, but rather a fishing village. There are trips available, all of which are great depending on your interests, but don’t miss a trip up the Black River and a stop at Floyd’s Pelican Bar.
To really enjoy your visit, take a walk through the village and visit the local convenience store, or down the beach to watch the fishermen bring in their catch - always an amazing sight - and you will quickly realize that the people of Treasure Beach are friendly and you are safe in this little corner of the world. Attend a service at the local church. Pull up a stool and enjoy the company of Miss Laura and Miss Jenny while they concoct something amazing in the kitchen or the smokehouse. Ask Calvin if the weather is right for a bonfire on the beach, or maybe for a game of dominoes. The people of Treasure Beach are the real “treasure”.
Over a decade of visits, our children have grown up and gotten to know the children in the village, and for them a visit to Rainbow Tree is a visit to see their family. They are often asked to join in a game of soccer or watch the local teams play. The adults know them by name and watch out for them. This is their favorite vacation by far -- they have turned down other trips over the years (including Disney World!) in order to visit their home away from home. When the weather turns cold and dreary, or one of us is having a bad day, we will often say “I wish we were at Rainbow Tree right now!” It is truly that special."

"Our stay at Blow Hole Villa was everything you could ever want in a vacation. We came in February 2015 with a group of 5 couples and we all plan to return!
The property is breathtaking along the cliff side with the natural pools forming below. Waking up to see the sunrise with a fresh cup of coffee (prepared every morning by staff) was the best, most relaxing way to start the day. All of the rooms are spacious with their own bathroom attached. I'm partial to the new guest house portion of the living space because that's where I stayed - most amazing outdoor shower!! There is ample seating and lounging space inside and around the two pools (two!!) and the smaller pool can be turned into a jacuzzi when requested.
What truly makes Blow Hole Villa unique is the staff. Each member is sweet and helpful and highly skilled at their job. Shirley's cooking is to die for- there's really no reason to venture to restaurants with the way she cooks. Fresh lobster, Johnny cakes, lamb curry, fresh fruits, callilou, coconut cakes, etc. Trust her recommendations and come hungry! Annette drove us to the store so we could pick up ingredients for Shirley's meals plus any other snacks, beer etc that we wanted. Easy and fun to make the trip into town with her! If fresh fish is what we wanted Danny (who we called the mayor of Oracabessa) would flag down the local fisherman in our backyard and come back with whatever we wanted. 20 lobsters? No problem. Or he would drive us to pick up fresh lamb just down the road. His son Neko helped out with meals set-up, firing up the hot tub, answering any questions we had -and of course- showing us how to cliff jump off Chicken Point! Marlene made sure our laundry was clean and rooms tidy. We really were spoiled!
There's not much reason to leave the property although we had a blast one day at Goldeneye resort. You can get a day pass and enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, relaxing at the serene beach and drinking rum at one of the coolest beach bars I've ever been to. Bond Beach was closed when we were there, but I heard it is fun (walking distance). Finally, highly do NOT RECOMMEND venturing to Reggae Beach which is basically a cruise ship beach stop and a total tourist trap (I.e. The complete opposite of Blow Hole Villa!).
Janine was helpful and easy to work with. In conclusion, stay here!!!"

"Our vacation at The Highland House was amazing. The staff was very attentive, made us feel like we were at home. The whole process from start to finish was flawless. I had a horrible experience trying to rent a house before, which I explained to Keressa, she reassured me that I didn't have to worry about a repeat. Thanks Keressa for an unforgettable vacation."
