  • One Rhythm

"OMG!! This place was way more than I could have expected! I looked all over numerous properties, we were totally pleased. First of all, being a chef I must commend Ms. Annette on her culinary skills. After our beautiful morning walk on the beach we'd return to fresh fruit platters picked from the property. The villa is kept well and very clean. There are hammocks perfectly located so the sea breeze flows just right. In late morning the fisherman would stop by with lobsters they had just caught, they learned I love Conch, so the next day fresh conch is delivered! Johnny knew everything about the area, great guy to ride around with and get the history! We ate, slept, lived like a queen! We will return and we highly recommend One Rhythm to all!"

  • Wonderful people, as well as a great home for your enjoyment!

"Miss Veronica was a joy to deal with in making arrangements, since we went off season, she did make some adjustments to the cost, which frankly allowed us to be able to stay a couple more days. She is very responsive to all your emails. Do not change money at the airport...wait to go into Duncans or change only a small amount for a day while you settle in. We had the pleasure of meeting Johnny, who was our driver and guide while there. He was very punctual, not to mention kept his vehicle very clean. If you make arrangements for him to take you somewhere, be sure to agree on cost prior to your excursion. He was gracious in taking us to the store close to the airport when we arrived, that store had many "American" items however, I would recommend taking to Miss Iris to plan meals before buying too much stuff. This place is kept in immaculate condition. Ms. Veronica has a keen eye for picking the best staff! Our vacation would not have been as rich had it not been for Miss Iris, who made all of our meals (which were outstanding); shared local traditions; as well as suggested things to do. I left feeling like I had a new family member. If you get the chance to have Miss Sandra cook for you, her jerk chicken was much better then the restaurants. Lest I not forget to mention Mr. Curtis who took care of the grounds and always had a smile to share, as well as stories about Jamaica. I would recommend sending a shopping list in advance of your arrival, although Miss Iris did a great job of having somethings on hand. Make sure you buy PLENTY of bottled water, you will need it, Also try the High Mountain coffee, 1/2 the price of Blue Mountain coffee, yet the same flavor. Anything you need or want, talk to Miss Iris, she can let you know where to get the best of everything while saving you money. There are local beachcombers who sell handmade wood carvings which were greatly appreciated when I returned. The beach is beautiful and pristine. Make sure you hit Leroy's down the beach at night for some reggae/drinks-they are a family run business who welcomes people with open arms. Make sure you travel with a group at night...this is a third world country in a depressed economic condition. We were two women alone, so had to be very aware of our surroundings. Miss Iris; Johnny and Mr. Curtis all made sure we were safe and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend this villa for your stay, as I plan to be back sooner rather than later."

  • As close to perfect as humanly possible!

"YES Ebb Tide is TRULY accessible for everyone!!! If you want the definition of a true vacation Ebb Tide/Silver Sands with Charm and Hyacinth is your destination! If you want to feel at home in paradise, pampered and entirely care for you could not find better people than Charm and Hyacinth. My father stayed at Ebb Tide 20 years ago and fell in love with the house and the people. Who knew we would return 20 years later to find some familiar faces and make new friends too! In those 20 years we have added more kids to our family including my little brother who is a multi-handicapped 17 year old wonder. Complete with his "chariot" (wheelchair) the entire Ebb Tide crew lead by Charm and Hyacinth built two small ramps for Caleb (before we arrived) to be able to go literally wherever he wanted too! What an amazing luxury that does not happen every day! The food is out of this world and exactly what we asked for during every meal, snack, left over. Fresh Red Snapper, Lobster, local mangos, ans SO much more! The access to our own beach is priceless and the close proximity to the public beach, bar and grill, crab races, entertainment is perfect. We are a very close family who does not easily trust people to care for Caleb because he does need 24/7 care, however Charm and Hyacinth cared for him just as we do and we were more than comfortable having the ladies tend to his every need while we played in the warm ocean or napped or read or whatever we desired to relax. The transportation was phenomenal! With a bus complete with wheelchair lift just for Caleb. Ebb Tide the house was so lovely with four bedrooms and four baths everyone could enjoy their own space. The living areas are awesome for watching TV, putting together puzzles, dancing, playing cards, etc. The dining room is situated between the front and back sliding doors so for every meal your get to hear the surf and feel the ocean breeze. I can not convey how blessed we felt and still feel. It is usually so difficult to vacation with a wheelchair we were in heaven with the simplicity and efforts continually made to make us feel like kings and queens. "Thank you" is not even close to expressing how we feel about his experience but is simply with our DEEPEST thanks that we give to Charm and Hyacinth for making our vacation dreams come true! We will be back next year and have already put our dates on the calendar!!! Jamaica here we come- no problem!!!! :)"

  • Just Do It!

"Our family of five just returned from our stay at Palm Villa in the quaint parish of Duncans. This was our first visit to Jamaica and we LOVED IT! The parish of Duncans is smaller and less touristy than other places in Jamaica. You will have a more authentic and relaxed Jamaican experience in this area. The parish has a nice grocery store, bakery and meat shop. You'll also have access to fresh fish directly from the local fisherman. Within walking distance of the villa, you'll find a bar/eatery called Leroys and another small bar/eatery. You'll also find shops where the locals sell souvenirs, wood carvings, paintings and etc. When we arrived at Palm Villa, we were greeted by our host, Jennifer. She immediately took us under her wing and made us feel right at home. We found Palm Villa to be well appointed, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We especially liked having comfortable beds and bathrooms in each of the bedrooms. Other features that we appreciated were the ceiling fans (there is air conditioning, but we didn't use it), WIFI, and lovely yard with shady areas to relax in. Jennifer is a wonderful person who will do everything that she can to make your stay enjoyable. She will cook amazing meals for you and so much more. Jennifer is well known and respected in the area and we were so happy to have her there to help us understand how to use Jamaican currency, recommend things to do in the area, arrange for locals to take us snorkeling and to visit a cave, negotiate prices on our souvenirs, and arrange for transportation when we wanted to go to Ocho Rios and etc. She uses a driver named Mr. Mason who is excellent. He is a safe driver who knows many things about the area and he will point things out as he drives. Palm Villa is a treasure in the Duncan's area. While we visited, there were many people who came by the villa and commented on how they wished that they had been able to stay there as opposed to their current location. Palm Villa is more private than other cottages, it has a beautiful yard filled with flowering plants and trees and it is a two minute walk to the beach. The beach is magnificent. It is private and very expansive. We were often at the beach with other locals but it was never crowded. We swam, snorkeled, and walked the beach on a daily basis. If you are looking for a tranquil, relaxing, safe, and wonderful place to visit, choose Duncans and Palm Villa. You won't be sorry, just do it!"
