  • Best Villa Vacation Ever!

"This was a last minute booking but the owners went above and beyond to insure our trip was stress free. Unexpected to us, Leslie the butler met us at the airport with the driver, and made it his mission to take care for the rest of the week. The owners who live in Florida appear to be very involved in the management of the property and it shows. We arrived to chilled towels and met the rest of the 7 person staff who greeted us with “welcome home”. They endeavored to satisfy us in every way possible for balance of our stay. Never intrusive, always friendly, and available day and night, they quietly went about their daily routines in keeping the Villa and grounds in top shape. As they say, the best Chef’s on the island are found in the better villas and Bambu's Peaches is the best we have experienced in multiple villa stays over 20 years of visits to Jamaica. Leslie joked our first night that the meals would progressively get better each day, but we found every dinner to be equally exceptional. We opted to enjoy all of our meals in the open air dining pavilion which afforded excellent views over to Montego Bay both day and night. Other options included a formal dining room as well as a beautiful terrace area on the ocean facing corner of the property. Peaches’ multi course creations were always served by Leslie, each meal served on a different and unique place setting. All meals were restaurant quality! The villa itself is unique for the area…a blend of Caribbean Architecture (roof lines) with some old world Italian inspired features (arches; iron work) including the statues around the swimming pool which may remind some of a roman spa, or at least the Garden of the Gods at Caesars Palace (Vegas Edition). The show stopper is the grounds. Multiple levels of well-manicured lawns, fruit trees, palms, dotted with fountains and quiet spaces. Well placed Royal Palms towering over the roof tops give the property a true paradise feel. Not a bad view anywhere. In addition to the usual “free range” island foul, the owner’s love of animals is present on their island estate. The “Arc” as I called it included roaming bunnies, a few peacocks, a friendly Great Dane Pup, goats, and even a parrot who added to the menagerie. The pictures do not do the place justice. We were two and more than comfortable, but Bambu easily works for multiple couples or a larger family because of the many “hiding places” affording on demand quiet time. 5 Star Experience"

  • Enjoyed the Palmyra

"The Palmyra is a high end resort that was apparently foreclosed on a few years ago. There are three 10+ story buildings of rooms, but one of the buildings is not finished. The resort appears to be operated by the bank and/or some people who purchased condominiums there. My family stayed in a first floor condo last week. The condo we stayed in (I think it was room 104) was very high end. The ceilings are about 14 feet high, tile floors, granite countertops, nice kitchen, very nice bathrooms, very nice deck overlooking the ocean and the pool. There are several floor to ceiling windows, the condo is fairly spacious and well decorated. The grounds are very well maintained. The beach is great and the pool is great. It was a little creepy at first because we were they only occupants we saw for the first few days, and the interior hallways are not well lit at night. (The resort is gated and guarded.) However, after a few days we settled in and could appreciate the resort better. There were also a few other families as the week went on. I definitely recommend staying in a condo at the Palmyra rather than one of the all inclusive resorts (Hilton, Hyatt, Holiday Inn) nearby. Of the families we met mid week had also stayed at the Hyatt and said that it was obviously not creepily vacant, but was so crowded that they could barely find a place to sit on the beach. At the Palmyra we had a beautiful beach mostly to ourselves the whole week. There are no restaurants at the Palmyra, and I don't think the nearby resorts allow (or at least the financially discourage) non guests from eating there. However, Montego Bay has a lot of very nice restaurants that are reasonably priced and I am much happier that we explored the costal towns rather than just stay at an all inclusive resort. The Palmyra manager we worked with (Judith) was accommodating and helpful. She also recommended a driver named Richard. (You should not plan on renting a car in Jamaica if you are from the US. The roads are much more narrow than we are used to and the drivers driver differently - not just on the other side of the road, but sort of crazy.) However, Richard was a great driver. He was knowledgeable as a tour guide, a safe driver, and very enjoyable to be with. He also consistently steered us to activities and restaurants that we liked. The only thing we did wrong was not bring our own snorkeling gear. We could not rent decent gear there and we would liked to have done more snorkeling."

  • Lasting postive impression! Will definitely be returning.

"I recently had the great opportunity to stay with a group of girlfriends at Tropical Breeze Villa, in Negril. Everything was just as we had hoped for. We had done the resort type trip and was looking for something that would leave us with a true feeling that we had visited another country, rather than an Americanized version of a Caribbean vacation. To our delight, this was EXACTLY what we received! :) Upon our arrival we were greeted with friendly resident staff, whom always made sure we were comfortable and content, for the complete duration of our stay. Our first impression was a home away from home, with a cultural feel and relaxing vibe. The rooms were all very clean, including kitchen and all four bathrooms. The housekeeper, Sophie, is a wonderful person, and very polite. She kept the villa clean and tidy, while respectfully maintaining our privacy. We appreciated that! Meals were made by the on-site master chef, and was a definite highlight for our group of 'foodie' ladies, and the BEST I've personally had in the Caribbean! Any inquiries we had about entertainment were fully answered, with varying options to please our dynamic group of women. Whether lounging poolside (on-site), or at the nearby beautiful white sand beach, this villa is located in the heart of Negril and we were always just minutes away from thrilling entertainment; Including: Rick's Café (a MUST), MargaritaVille, riverboat rafting, 7 mile beach, nature hikes, bird watching and more! We were even offered rides for a reasonable price, to any of these excursions by their friendly driver, Jazzbo. He was able to point out all the best attractions! All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay, and our recommending it to our friends! - C.K"

  • Very Solid Choice for Jamaica Exploration Base

"Villa Rendezvous was the perfect location for our party of 10 (5 Adults and 5 Kids) to use as a base for our exploration of the North Coast of Jamaica. The owner, Doug, was a very good source of information prior to our arrival, easy to communicate with, made sure that our arrival transportation was seamless, and that we arrived to a fully stocked, spotless villa. The Villa itself is in a good location, up the hill a ways from the beach, which affords for really good views of probably 10 miles of coastline. The villa's 5 bedrooms, public areas, verandas, pool, grounds, etc. are all top notch, very clean, in very good condition and maintained to a very high standard, you would be hard pressed to find anything that is less than 'excellent' throughout. You are within 30-45 minutes of every attraction you would want to do over the course of the week, and the local beach is great for those days or afternoons that you want to stay local. Good spots for lunch (eat in or take out) are within a 10 minute drive. The Villa staff each perform their tasks in a friendly, unobtrusive manner, and are really a pleasure to have around. Ms. Tiny and Ms. Betsy prepare a really good variety of meals for breakfast and dinner, so good that we only went out twice for dinner. The service they provide during mealtime is excellent, you are truly a guest and made to feel as such. Lawford maintains the grounds, cleans the pool each day, and does a fine job on the grill. Between the three of them, they keep the place absolutely spotless. Hiring Andrew for Transportation for the week is a no brainer, he will prove to be your tour guide for the week, and will take you to a good mix of on and off the beaten path spots. Our entire group of people from age 8 to 76 could not have been happier with our time spent at Rendezvous Villa!"
