  • Nine days in Paradise!

"Linga Awile is an amazingly peaceful place. Discovery Bay has, thankfully, not yet been discovered by the mega resorts that are cloning themselves elsewhere in Jamaica. It is a place of sun, sand, warmth and welcome! Jenni was so gracious to let us arrive a day early due to the massive storm that closed down the SE US, and Casita, Cheryl and Deano gave up their day off to welcome us. It only got better from there. The kids spent hours each day in the pool and the adults Linga'd on the Veranda and Gazebo. We all swam in the warm ocean, kayaked and melted in sunshine and 85F. Around the area we enjoyed the caves, horseback riding - into the ocean no less - rafting, and a magical visit to Glistening Waters. We went to local markets and tourist markets, shopped in the local grocery store, and came home each night to a comfortable home, and amazing meals. Don't miss Casita's fried chicken, or coconut moaa, or the talapia! Cheryl kept us in dry towels and dry floors and keeps a spotless house. Deano served us coconut fresh from the tree, every meal, took care of the yard and allowed us the priviledge of getting to know him better in the evening. Moma Casita, Auntie Cheryl and Brother Deano, we have already booked the same time for next year!"

  • A taste of Heaven

"To say that this villa was the most BEAUTIFUL place on Earth would be an understatement!! From the moment we drove up, I literally fell in love with Fanta Sea!! Pictures don't do the villa justice, and the beauty and ambiance of the place in the evenings was the epitome of PEACE AND TRANQUILITY. By day, you can take a golf cart to the beach (make sure you know how to drive one), or pick you favorite spot by the pool or on the veranda and take in the ocean breeze. Or, you and your significant other can pick one of the gazebos in the lovely expansive gardens to spend a little quality time. The housekeeper is very sweet. There was a cook available, however we loved the housekeeper so much, we chose to pay her extra to stay for a full day and cook dinner. There is so much I can say about this villa. Due to my tendency to ramble, I will break it down in categories to make it simple. Accommodations: Clean, spacious, comfortable, and PRIVATE. We were there in early June. For me, the daytimes were bearable because most of the time, there was a great breeze filtering through the villa and if it got too hot, the lovely heart shaped pool was at your disposal. As heat does indeed rise to the top, and the building is made of cement, the upstairs bedroom does get rather warm even with a breeze. A/C is available in the evenings, but on a limited basis. Make sure you negotiate the availability at booking. Safety: One of the owners lives on site. A very gracious host, I always felt safe with him around. The villa sits back away from the road so you won't run into anyone who has no business on the property. Not to mention, there is a watch dog on the property who doesn't hesitate to make his presence known. He does not bite, however. Children: Spacious villa and grounds, combined with a pool and nearby beach make this villa perfect for families with children! Don't forget the armband inflatable floaties! Transportation: That was the one thing that became problematic for us. Having traveled from Kingston, I was appalled by the taxi rates in Runaway Bay. Food is NOT easily accessible, so bring plenty of groceries. The housekeeper will pick up groceries for you before coming, and Josh (one of the owners) is always available as a car hire. Ocho Rios is 30 minutes away. I would DEFINITELY hire Josh to take you into Ochi!! Lovely day. Also, have Josh take you to Scotchies for some jerk chicken, pork and sausage! The view is to die for!! Nightlife: Not much in the way of"

  • genuine Jamaican relaxation

"Our group of 4 had a very nice stay at this snug villa. Well maintained, simply furnished and meticulously clean. Plenty of space inside plus great front porch and upper balcony for enjoying the breezes. It's a short drive from pretty much all the north coast sights. You may want a rental car for maximum flexibility although they're happy to arrange for a courteous driver. This is not the place for you if you crave bustling shopping areas or partying clubs. What you get is a taste of real Jamaican coastal life, slow paced and sun drenched. Best part is perhaps the chance to know the lovely staff, who somehow make you feel as if you've come home. Be sure to ask Adessa to cook some ackee with salt fish!"

"First i must say what you see in photos is what you really get plus more. When we arrived on the property we were really in awww,i remember saying to my mom this is really the place for my dream wedding.Everything to perfection waking up to the morning sun on the deck looking over the ocean, seeing the sun set at nights, getting breakfast in the mornings on the deck and hearing the water splash on the rocks. Not to mention how well kept the property was each day we were there, and all the helpful questions we ask were answered no matter how often we ask them. I would give my recommendation to everyone if you need a place for your dream wedding,to celebrate your birthday with friends or to relax with the family and kids."
