  • Private Paradise

"My wife, son (8) and daughter (5) enjoyed this location, villa, and staff for a week. Our every need was taken care of proactively - including sewing and minor repair to damaged luggage, and attention to my daughter's allergies (dairy, fish, nuts, eggs) with absolutely no issues. The food was fresh and fantastic (kids loved the breakfasts, adults loved it all). Recommend the local trips (Pelican Bar, Black River, Appleton Rum, etc.) and exploring and interacting with the locals. Even with young kids we felt safe the whole time as the staff and even owners of this property are part of the local fabric and have been for decades. We recommend this paradise to our friends and would love to come back."

  • Great Spot to Unwind

"Seagrape is an ideal location to relax. The sound of the ocean, the sea breeze and the frogs provide for great nighttime entertainment. There is a ladder to the ocean, with a great snorkel area. We saw a number of fish, including one lionfish, near Seagrape's ladder entrance to the ocean. There is a (mostly) private tanning area right outside the front door. The coffee service to your veranda is a great way to start the day. Juicy, Bentley and Christine are very helpful and made the stay that much better. We rented a car but there always seemed to be a number of taxis driving in the area. There is a market across the street and another up the road from which we purchased essentials. We also purchased from a fruit stall close by. We found it beneficial to rent a car to explore as well as go to the larger markets. I am writing this from Seagrape, listening to the ocean and frogs, wishing I did not have to leave."

  • Wonderful people, as well as a great home for your enjoyment!

"Miss Veronica was a joy to deal with in making arrangements, since we went off season, she did make some adjustments to the cost, which frankly allowed us to be able to stay a couple more days. She is very responsive to all your emails. Do not change money at the airport...wait to go into Duncans or change only a small amount for a day while you settle in. We had the pleasure of meeting Johnny, who was our driver and guide while there. He was very punctual, not to mention kept his vehicle very clean. If you make arrangements for him to take you somewhere, be sure to agree on cost prior to your excursion. He was gracious in taking us to the store close to the airport when we arrived, that store had many "American" items however, I would recommend taking to Miss Iris to plan meals before buying too much stuff. This place is kept in immaculate condition. Ms. Veronica has a keen eye for picking the best staff! Our vacation would not have been as rich had it not been for Miss Iris, who made all of our meals (which were outstanding); shared local traditions; as well as suggested things to do. I left feeling like I had a new family member. If you get the chance to have Miss Sandra cook for you, her jerk chicken was much better then the restaurants. Lest I not forget to mention Mr. Curtis who took care of the grounds and always had a smile to share, as well as stories about Jamaica. I would recommend sending a shopping list in advance of your arrival, although Miss Iris did a great job of having somethings on hand. Make sure you buy PLENTY of bottled water, you will need it, Also try the High Mountain coffee, 1/2 the price of Blue Mountain coffee, yet the same flavor. Anything you need or want, talk to Miss Iris, she can let you know where to get the best of everything while saving you money. There are local beachcombers who sell handmade wood carvings which were greatly appreciated when I returned. The beach is beautiful and pristine. Make sure you hit Leroy's down the beach at night for some reggae/drinks-they are a family run business who welcomes people with open arms. Make sure you travel with a group at night...this is a third world country in a depressed economic condition. We were two women alone, so had to be very aware of our surroundings. Miss Iris; Johnny and Mr. Curtis all made sure we were safe and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend this villa for your stay, as I plan to be back sooner rather than later."

  • WONDERFUL TRIP

"If you are considering staying here on your trip to Jamaica, have no reservations! Island Breeze Villa is more than I expected especially going based on pictures and other reviews alone. I went with family and friends for a girls trip and we all had the most amazing time. Our ages ranged from 30-65 and we all had a wonderful time. We never felt crowded, the home has plenty of space for you to have some privacy if need be. The house is beautiful and the pool is clean, but what made our trip so special was Marie and Glen. They were so accommodating to our needs on this trip. We loved Marie's cooking so much we only really ate lunch out. Glen is also a joy. They both felt like family. I don't think staying here would have been as good without them. We didn't really have to try to figure things out on our own. The only reason I gave this review 4 stars instead of 5 is because you have to take a taxi to get to Doctors cave beach, which is about 10 minutes away. I'm not sure where you can stay in such a beautiful home, with your own cook and houseman for this price. We will definitely be back!"
