  • Wonderful Peaceful Holiday

"We stayed at Mark's villa for two weeks and it has been the best holiday we have had in quite a while. The villa itself is in a peaceful location just outside Treasure Beach. The club house on the beach has a bedroom and bathroom which is cute and the fact that they wasn't aircon was not a problem. The staff were more than willing to help with anything you needed. Special thanks to Rambo for all the driving we had loads of trips out to see all sorts of attractions, Rum Factories, waterfalls, spa baths etc and trips into Treasure beach when we fancied a night our from the villa, and to Shaun for the wonderful meals just say what you would like and off Shaun goes and comes back with the receipts and all the ingredients for some wonderful meals, the best by far was the barbecued pork and seeing him club a tree to snap off the dead wood was a sight in itself. The communication with Mark was very easy and fast and the whole process was smooth and trouble free. I would highly recommend Great Escape. Julia Thornton and family. (husband, two grown children and their partners)."

  • The most relaxing time for my family.. just fabulous!

"I am looking forward to returning; I cried when I had to leave. The staff is the most beautiful and kind people I have met and I have been to lots of different villas. The area is a safe and peaceful place; I have found one of my places that I can call home. The cook is excellent and the food fresh and delicious. I recommend it highly. Living inside and out at the same time has reminded me how important it is to my soul to connect with nature. My children; 3, 6 & 9 had so much fun from the pool to the beach. They also enjoyed playing with the local children and the 6 & 9 year old had lots of freedom to roam with the other kids there in the village. I find that having my kids spend time in places so different from the US has opened their interest in different cultures, especially the older ones."

  • Peace and quiet

"My husband and I rented a room in the villa for a week and ended up having the entire house to ourselves. This was perfect as I was recovering from a back injury and just wanted to sleep, swim, sun and walk on the beach. That's exactly what we did. We were greeted by the man that watches the house and cleans the pool. He saw us coming via the security cameras. He checked in on us but didn't interfere with our privacy at all. We never called or used the housekeeper/cook. The rooms are large and nicely decorated, although some bedspreads are about due to be replaced, more from being more outdated than being too worn. All of the bathrooms had brand new towel sets, however, and everything is nicely tiled, and painted. We ended up using the large room upstairs (Room 1) that had A/C, a huge balcony overlooking the front yard. While all rentals have some "quirks," I didn't find any of them with this house to be a deal breaker. Our bathroom was spacious, had a double sink, a tiled "regular" shower, AND one of those shower units with multiple shower heads and a steam option. While the steam option worked, the only shower head that worked was the handheld one but it was all very clean. One review I read mentioned this bathroom as being dark and dingy. I didn't see that at all. The pool was cool and sparkling clean the entire time. The back of the house, where the pool is, was a great place to sun and swim. I knew going in that it wasn't beachfront but was slightly disappointed to only be able to see the beach from the kitchen window because trees block the view, you get what you pay for and it was still great! The beaches on this part of the island have sandy shorelines but have huge rocks out in the water. There is a small cove for swimming a few minutes walk from the house. For those of you who can't "disconnect" from the outside world, the wifi worked pretty well. The TV's get a few channels. The kitchens had decent dishes and cookware. We ate at home during the day and walked down to Jakes or someplace else for dinner. This is a VERY safe area, so don't be afraid to get out and around. I can't wait to rent the entire house and take my entire family down. Get brave and rent a car for your stay. The cost to be picked up at the airport is more than a rental for the week. Jamaican's are awesome at helping you find your way. Then you can explore the island, too! Treasure Beach is natural, casual, quiet and nearly undiscovered. Enjoy!"

  • Unforgettable, absolutely stunning

"Out Of The Blue Villa is a slice of heaven on earth: everything was beyond my expectations from the exceptional beachfront setting to the beauty of the villa's design to the dizzying array of fresh fruit and delightful traditional Jamaican dishes prepared and served by the incredible staff. The layout of the villa allows for both lounging quietly by yourself and congregating with your fellow guests in spacious common areas, in the sun or shade. The pool sparkles in the sunshine all day long and conveniently offers an umbrella and two chairs for a wonderful way to cool down after beach-combing or hiking the surrounding bluffs while enjoying unobstructed water views. Though my boyfriend and I stayed at Out Of The Blue with six other friends and certainly enjoyed our group time, we also found it incredibly romantic, easily finding adventures to embark on together off the property or simply listening to the waves crash upon the shore while swinging lazily in the totally cool canoe-turned-loveseat on the veranda. Thoughtful highlights include a sound system with speakers wired outside to enjoy your tunes, well-stocked and perfectly situated outdoor bar with ice machine (a true necessity!), funky outdoor driftwood rinsing station to avoid bringing the beach into the villa with you, and of course, the incredible staff who went above and beyond for each of us every day: not having to rinse a plate, make a bed, or do laundry certainly heightened my sense of being in paradise! At the owner's recommendation, we checked out the Appleton Rum Estate tour, YS Falls, and rented a boat from Treasure Beach to take us out to the Pelican Bar - all of which I highly recommend. The only meal we had outside of the villa was at Jake's on Treasure Beach, also recommended by the owner and an absolute must in my books. My Villa experience was exceptional and has left a lasting impression; without a doubt, I would return to Out Of The Blue in a heartbeat!"
