  • Lasting postive impression! Will definitely be returning.

"I recently had the great opportunity to stay with a group of girlfriends at Tropical Breeze Villa, in Negril. Everything was just as we had hoped for. We had done the resort type trip and was looking for something that would leave us with a true feeling that we had visited another country, rather than an Americanized version of a Caribbean vacation. To our delight, this was EXACTLY what we received! :) Upon our arrival we were greeted with friendly resident staff, whom always made sure we were comfortable and content, for the complete duration of our stay. Our first impression was a home away from home, with a cultural feel and relaxing vibe. The rooms were all very clean, including kitchen and all four bathrooms. The housekeeper, Sophie, is a wonderful person, and very polite. She kept the villa clean and tidy, while respectfully maintaining our privacy. We appreciated that! Meals were made by the on-site master chef, and was a definite highlight for our group of 'foodie' ladies, and the BEST I've personally had in the Caribbean! Any inquiries we had about entertainment were fully answered, with varying options to please our dynamic group of women. Whether lounging poolside (on-site), or at the nearby beautiful white sand beach, this villa is located in the heart of Negril and we were always just minutes away from thrilling entertainment; Including: Rick's Café (a MUST), MargaritaVille, riverboat rafting, 7 mile beach, nature hikes, bird watching and more! We were even offered rides for a reasonable price, to any of these excursions by their friendly driver, Jazzbo. He was able to point out all the best attractions! All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay, and our recommending it to our friends! - C.K"

  • Enjoyed the Palmyra

"The Palmyra is a high end resort that was apparently foreclosed on a few years ago. There are three 10+ story buildings of rooms, but one of the buildings is not finished. The resort appears to be operated by the bank and/or some people who purchased condominiums there. My family stayed in a first floor condo last week. The condo we stayed in (I think it was room 104) was very high end. The ceilings are about 14 feet high, tile floors, granite countertops, nice kitchen, very nice bathrooms, very nice deck overlooking the ocean and the pool. There are several floor to ceiling windows, the condo is fairly spacious and well decorated. The grounds are very well maintained. The beach is great and the pool is great. It was a little creepy at first because we were they only occupants we saw for the first few days, and the interior hallways are not well lit at night. (The resort is gated and guarded.) However, after a few days we settled in and could appreciate the resort better. There were also a few other families as the week went on. I definitely recommend staying in a condo at the Palmyra rather than one of the all inclusive resorts (Hilton, Hyatt, Holiday Inn) nearby. Of the families we met mid week had also stayed at the Hyatt and said that it was obviously not creepily vacant, but was so crowded that they could barely find a place to sit on the beach. At the Palmyra we had a beautiful beach mostly to ourselves the whole week. There are no restaurants at the Palmyra, and I don't think the nearby resorts allow (or at least the financially discourage) non guests from eating there. However, Montego Bay has a lot of very nice restaurants that are reasonably priced and I am much happier that we explored the costal towns rather than just stay at an all inclusive resort. The Palmyra manager we worked with (Judith) was accommodating and helpful. She also recommended a driver named Richard. (You should not plan on renting a car in Jamaica if you are from the US. The roads are much more narrow than we are used to and the drivers driver differently - not just on the other side of the road, but sort of crazy.) However, Richard was a great driver. He was knowledgeable as a tour guide, a safe driver, and very enjoyable to be with. He also consistently steered us to activities and restaurants that we liked. The only thing we did wrong was not bring our own snorkeling gear. We could not rent decent gear there and we would liked to have done more snorkeling."

  • Wonderful stay at Yellow Canary villa!

"We had never been to Duncans Bay before, although we have been to Jamaica many times. This was our first time renting a house vs. staying at a hotel or resort. We loved it. It was my husband, myself and our closest friends (another couple). We loved having a house with a back terrace and front terrace and other rooms to hang out in, instead of just a hotel room or other areas in a resort. It was very private and relaxing. Johnny picked us up at the airport and took us to two restaurants during our stay, and drove us back to the airport. He also took us to Silver Sands to snorkel and any where else we wanted to go. On the way in he took us to the grocery store so we could stock up on some essentials. Sandra and Iris were wonderful and it was so nice not to be the one cooking!! We enjoyed fresh fish and lobster and local Jamaican cuisine all done to perfection. We looked forward to Curtis' arrival each day...he was wonderful to talk to and takes his job as gardener very seriously. We met Veronica upon our arrival and she couldn't have been nicer. It was very easy to communicate with her via email, prior to arriving and no problem at all working out all the details. The street is small and wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The beach is mere steps away, and despite being a public beach it felt very private the whole time we were there. We will definitely go back!!"

  • A perfect winter get-away

"This was our first trip to Jamaica and it was wonderful. We have two small children and wanted help with the cooking and cleaning but we aren't the all-inclusive resort types. This was perfect for us. The staff were wonderful. Kind and genuine people who taught us about Jamaican foods, plants and customs. It was amazing to have such wonderful meals without lifting a finger. Miss Jen and Miss Medittta are excellent cooks. Raniel, Danville and Aman were generous guides and took great care of us on the crazy roads and shared local stories and politics with us. We had delightful trips up the Black River, to the Pelican Bar and to YS falls. The pool is just outside and it is a short walk down to the beach. The views from the villa are panoramic. You have a view of the sea anywhere you sit. I just moved from lounge chair to lounge chair. This was he most relaxing vacation I have ever had. Treasure Beach is a bit of a trek from the airport but well worth it. If you are looking for a vacation off the beaten path this is the place."
