  • Wonderful stay at Yellow Canary villa!

"We had never been to Duncans Bay before, although we have been to Jamaica many times. This was our first time renting a house vs. staying at a hotel or resort. We loved it. It was my husband, myself and our closest friends (another couple). We loved having a house with a back terrace and front terrace and other rooms to hang out in, instead of just a hotel room or other areas in a resort. It was very private and relaxing. Johnny picked us up at the airport and took us to two restaurants during our stay, and drove us back to the airport. He also took us to Silver Sands to snorkel and any where else we wanted to go. On the way in he took us to the grocery store so we could stock up on some essentials. Sandra and Iris were wonderful and it was so nice not to be the one cooking!! We enjoyed fresh fish and lobster and local Jamaican cuisine all done to perfection. We looked forward to Curtis' arrival each day...he was wonderful to talk to and takes his job as gardener very seriously. We met Veronica upon our arrival and she couldn't have been nicer. It was very easy to communicate with her via email, prior to arriving and no problem at all working out all the details. The street is small and wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The beach is mere steps away, and despite being a public beach it felt very private the whole time we were there. We will definitely go back!!"

  • Wow, wow, wow!!!

"We just returned from staying at Seagrapes for 1 week. Before we even left home, we felt well taken care of by the owners, Tony & Sheila. They contacted us via email and phone several times. They arranged our airport transfer to Seagrapes, a man named Norval, who they hand-picked for us. He was fantastic. We used him several more times throughout the week. Upon arrival to the house we were greeted in the driveway by the staff, who had genuine welcoming smiles on their faces. They immediately set the tone of "you're on vacation, let us do the work!" Robbie had drinks ready for us, Laura Lee showed us the house, and Blossom brought fresh towels out to the pool, all within 10 minutes of us arriving. Kurline made us a pasta dish for lunch, and as I pushed away from the table, I realized that it was the first time that I felt TRULY RELAXED while on a vacation. The staff at Seagrapes is PHENOMENAL. I cannot say enough about each individual. Kurline's meals were a treat. The food she made was simply delicious. My children, who usually eat burgers or chicken fingers and french fries while on vacation, gobbled up every meal. Kurline spoke with me on day 2 to find out our likes and dislikes. She made the best steak that I have ever had. It was a pleasure to interact with Robbie and Laura Lee, both of whom have a gentle and kind way about them. Laura Lee noticed that my son's face was sunburned. She went outside and cut fresh aloe and cooled it in the fridge so that we could apply it to his burn. Robbie taught my son how to fold napkins for the table. He took us on a walk to a beautiful cove where we collected shells and sand dollars. George the gardner, was discreet and always had kind words to say about my family. Blossom, discreet in her own way, made sure that our living quarters and laundry were perfect. Tony & Sheila checked in several times during our stay to make sure that we were happy. Tony even met us at the Good Hope Estate and gave us a tour of the amazing property. I am a self proclaimed homebody. Usually by day 3 of a vacation, I've seen it all and I'm ready to go home. NOT this time. I was so sad to leave and cannot wait to return. 1 week was not enough. There was so much for all of us (ages 66, 42, 41, 11, 9, 5) to do on the property... snorkeling on the reef, playing on the beach, kayaking, SUP, the pool, badminton, tennis, basketball, tree swing, hammock, delicious meal after meal, and exploring the property's flora and fauna. PURE BLISS."

  • Can't say enough about how awesome Great Escape is!

"If you want a vacation surrounded by beauty where you can visit a Jamaica that you will never find in a resort, with staff who are kind, genuine and, well, simply wonderful, then this is the place for you. This was our third time in Jamaica, but our first outside of a resort. Mark (the owner) was great. We actually had to change our dates due to medical issues, and he had no problem with that. We only went on a few excursions that Shane arranged for us. Highly recommend Captain Ted for a Black River tour with a stop at Sister Lou's and the Pelican Bar. Also did Lover's Leap with a late lunch at Jack Sprats. Rambo did the driving for us. We definitely plan to come again. Hopefully for our son's college graduation in 2017. Shane said he'd show him fishing Jamaican style. :)"

  • Fantastic!

"Our stay at Great River House was really terrific. The house is lovely. The setting is very pretty. The proximity to Round Hill made our trips to the beach and to see friends easy. Throughout our stay, we kept noting how remarkable your staff is. Carlington is without question the best cook we have had in the Caribbean (having been coming down for 30 years). He is imaginative yet 100% reliable. As a person, he exudes warmth and welcome. He was a pleasure to spend time with. Kirk is similarly kind and warm. We spent much time with Kirk discussing the island and various details of our trip. He is a very well-spoken, thoughtful and kind man. He was a joy to be around and he very much helped make our stay what it was. Kirk and Carlington are still being discussed in our apartment in New York as Charlotte, our 3 year old, is still obsessed with them both. Last night we visited Charlotte’s grandmother for dinner and when the desert was not to her liking she asked if she could have dinner tonight with Kirk and Carlington. The ladies of the house were all smiles and so nice to see each day. The house was immaculate and laundry etc was fully reliable and 100% spot on. The grounds are very well kept and we felt secure at night thanks to Dev (and the dogs). We only regret not getting to do a bonfire so we will need to return another time! I think being able to keep a staff such as this must be a true challenge and yet a real reflection upon you both - your commitment to the house and the individuals that make up the team. They seem to think very highly of you and are really an impressive group. They are the difference in our view between a mediocre and a fantastic experience. This was a fantastic trip. We thank you for everything and very much hope to return soon."
