  • Best Villa Vacation Ever!

"This was a last minute booking but the owners went above and beyond to insure our trip was stress free. Unexpected to us, Leslie the butler met us at the airport with the driver, and made it his mission to take care for the rest of the week. The owners who live in Florida appear to be very involved in the management of the property and it shows. We arrived to chilled towels and met the rest of the 7 person staff who greeted us with “welcome home”. They endeavored to satisfy us in every way possible for balance of our stay. Never intrusive, always friendly, and available day and night, they quietly went about their daily routines in keeping the Villa and grounds in top shape. As they say, the best Chef’s on the island are found in the better villas and Bambu's Peaches is the best we have experienced in multiple villa stays over 20 years of visits to Jamaica. Leslie joked our first night that the meals would progressively get better each day, but we found every dinner to be equally exceptional. We opted to enjoy all of our meals in the open air dining pavilion which afforded excellent views over to Montego Bay both day and night. Other options included a formal dining room as well as a beautiful terrace area on the ocean facing corner of the property. Peaches’ multi course creations were always served by Leslie, each meal served on a different and unique place setting. All meals were restaurant quality! The villa itself is unique for the area…a blend of Caribbean Architecture (roof lines) with some old world Italian inspired features (arches; iron work) including the statues around the swimming pool which may remind some of a roman spa, or at least the Garden of the Gods at Caesars Palace (Vegas Edition). The show stopper is the grounds. Multiple levels of well-manicured lawns, fruit trees, palms, dotted with fountains and quiet spaces. Well placed Royal Palms towering over the roof tops give the property a true paradise feel. Not a bad view anywhere. In addition to the usual “free range” island foul, the owner’s love of animals is present on their island estate. The “Arc” as I called it included roaming bunnies, a few peacocks, a friendly Great Dane Pup, goats, and even a parrot who added to the menagerie. The pictures do not do the place justice. We were two and more than comfortable, but Bambu easily works for multiple couples or a larger family because of the many “hiding places” affording on demand quiet time. 5 Star Experience"

  • Had an amazing time.

"We were two families sharing the villa. 4 adults and 5 children. The location is great and being that it's a villa u get the resort staff but privacy of a home with a huge private pool. Beach access is a snap even though you are crossing a major road. Drivers actually stopped several times to let us cross. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because it really should have an outdoor bbq grill. I am already trying to figure out how to get back to this villa. Negril is awesome and this villa is right near all the action. Loved all the spots on the beach. Very friendly staff"

  • Lovely relaxing vacation

"We really enjoyed staying at Marian's place. It is clean and comfortable, and the staff, and Marian's recommendations for other people--especially Kristy's taxi service--were great. Cathy made us a great meal of curried chicken and rice and beans. We would have had her cooked more. We liked the location very much--we thought of renting a car but decided we didn't need one. Glenn's across the street was a good place for any meal. Not much of a beach at this place but you can easily walk to Bamboo (previously Reggae Beach) Beach. Take a route taxi to Moxon's just to the east, which has stunning views and good restaurant and snorkeling. Walk to the spa at Couples Tower Island resort nearby for a very luxurious massage (we got a day pass for there too which is pricey at $100 per person, but lots of free food, drinks and activities for the price). Best of all Toscanini is right down the road. We explored outside of the immediate area a little bit, but mostly stayed in the neighborhood nearby. We were happy with our choice to stay in this modest but very comfortable accommodation, and spend money going out."

  • An Idyllic Vacation

"Calypso Shores provided the perfect location for a relaxing family getaway. The beautifully appointed home sits on a spectacular lot with panoramic views of ocean and mountains. Pictures cannot do the view justice. The amenities are perfect for a family with young children including the sandy beach, pool, kayaks and a catamaran, and spacious outdoor living area. The smallest details, such as properly fitting life jackets, cribs, and a safety gate for the pool, had been considered and were available for our use. The VIP customs service at the airport also proved to be invaluable. The amazing staff took wonderful care of us. Arlene is a fantastic cook who is happy to share her recipes. She and Odie also went above and beyond in helping us find the right resources to deal with sudden bouts of illness - including taxi rides to a local clinic and medicinal shots of rum! The community in which the home is located is a lovely spot with a community park and pool. Evening strolls to admire the Christmas lights were enjoyed by all. Furthermore, the proximity of Calypso Shores to downtown Montego Bay make it a great base for exploring. Our family enjoyed a visit to Doctors Cave Beach and the local craft market. All in all, Calypso shores is a perfect option for anyone looking to be pampered in a fun and luxurious location!"
