  • Amazing!

"Golden Sun Villa is summed up in one word: AMAZING! We went to Jamaica on our honeymoon hoping for a romantic getaway. Before our trip started the owner emailed us a full list of activities to do and things to know when there. All of the recommendations were great and saved us a lot of time looking into things to do. He answered all of our specific questions and was a pleasure to deal with in all regards. Once we got to Jamaica we rented a car and had a beautiful one hour drive to the villa. We were greeted by the very friendly staff and Franz the grounds keeper showed us around the gorgeous grounds. Larna the cook was exceptionally helpful and very kind. We had her purchase all of our food before getting there, so we arrived to a fully stocked fridge, with delicious fruits, and enough food for her to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for us for the week stay. Chelsea the housekeeper/maid was a delight as well. She cleaned up after us so we never had to lift a finger. She even made a floral arrangement on our bed every morning, very tropical! The house is very spacious with a cozy master bedroom. The lounge area has a TV with couches around to hang out after a long day out. The absolute best part of the villa is the backyard. It has an unbelievably scenic background with the ocean crashing against the shore and palm trees blowing in the wind. Our favorite part of the backyard is the stunning pool. We would stay outside for hours at night swimming under thousands of sparkling stars. It is truly a spectacular sight we won’t soon forget. Other notable parts of the grounds was the all you can eat sea grapes that grow next to the house, the almond tree on the grounds which we got to eat from, and the total privacy we had. We had the time of our lives there and hope others can enjoy it as well. If you are planning a trip to Jamaica I would definitely recommend staying here."

  • Splendid vacation

"My family and a friend, a total of six had a splendid vacation at the Villa Afimi. The property is as beautiful and impeccable as shown in the pictures. The staff which comprises of Colroy the butler, Nicoy the chef, Fiona the housekeeper and Robert the gardener and pool man. Colroy was always there to take care of all our needs. He was professional and very pleasant. Nicoy cooked all the delicious foods according to our requests. All of us wanted different things for breakfast. He whipped them all up quickly and everyone was very happy with him. Fiona kept the villa impeccable. Robert was always working industriously in the yard and on the beach. We were very sad when we had to leave Heaven On Earth. We are returning to Afimi to have another blissful week in Paradise."

  • Peace and quiet

"My husband and I rented a room in the villa for a week and ended up having the entire house to ourselves. This was perfect as I was recovering from a back injury and just wanted to sleep, swim, sun and walk on the beach. That's exactly what we did. We were greeted by the man that watches the house and cleans the pool. He saw us coming via the security cameras. He checked in on us but didn't interfere with our privacy at all. We never called or used the housekeeper/cook. The rooms are large and nicely decorated, although some bedspreads are about due to be replaced, more from being more outdated than being too worn. All of the bathrooms had brand new towel sets, however, and everything is nicely tiled, and painted. We ended up using the large room upstairs (Room 1) that had A/C, a huge balcony overlooking the front yard. While all rentals have some "quirks," I didn't find any of them with this house to be a deal breaker. Our bathroom was spacious, had a double sink, a tiled "regular" shower, AND one of those shower units with multiple shower heads and a steam option. While the steam option worked, the only shower head that worked was the handheld one but it was all very clean. One review I read mentioned this bathroom as being dark and dingy. I didn't see that at all. The pool was cool and sparkling clean the entire time. The back of the house, where the pool is, was a great place to sun and swim. I knew going in that it wasn't beachfront but was slightly disappointed to only be able to see the beach from the kitchen window because trees block the view, you get what you pay for and it was still great! The beaches on this part of the island have sandy shorelines but have huge rocks out in the water. There is a small cove for swimming a few minutes walk from the house. For those of you who can't "disconnect" from the outside world, the wifi worked pretty well. The TV's get a few channels. The kitchens had decent dishes and cookware. We ate at home during the day and walked down to Jakes or someplace else for dinner. This is a VERY safe area, so don't be afraid to get out and around. I can't wait to rent the entire house and take my entire family down. Get brave and rent a car for your stay. The cost to be picked up at the airport is more than a rental for the week. Jamaican's are awesome at helping you find your way. Then you can explore the island, too! Treasure Beach is natural, casual, quiet and nearly undiscovered. Enjoy!"

  • Wonderful Place!

"This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Right on the ocean. Gorgeous views from the house. The house is in great condition and the staff was wonderful. Helpful. Attentive. The food was great. A mix of local flavors and old favorites. We never had to worry about a thing. We had a large group staying on the property but the house did not feel crowded. Having the bus made it easy to take day trips to the many different activities in and around Ocho Rios. There are a wide range of activities available to guests everything from the more touristy spots in Ocho Rios to the remote waterfalls of Bluehole. Stay at the Villa Paradiso and you will never want to leave!"
