  • THE ONLY WAY TO VISIT JAMAICA!!!

"I simply can't say enough about Rendezvous Villa. We just completed our 4th stay at Rendezvous, and have already booked our 5th. The villa is perfect for families, and anyone who wants to truly experience Jamaica. We laugh at people who go to the 'all inclusive' resorts and think they have seen Jamaica. Rendezvous is a much better and cheaper way to experience the island. The resorts would love people to believe that staying with them is the best way to visit Jamaica. THEY ARE WRONG! The staff at Rendezvous are truly wonderful people. If you go, I encourage you to get to know them, talk to them, learn about them. Tiny's food is equally fantastic and authentic. Betsy makes sure that the living space is comfortable. Lawford keeps the grounds beautiful (plus he makes some great bbq ribs, bbq chicken, and some killer rum punch). These people are a big part of the reason we keep coming back, and we look forward to seeing our 'Jamaican family' every year. I also encourage anyone who goes to Rendezvous to hire Andrew as their driver. It's well worth having someone to take you around, share information about local attractions, history, towns, etc. Also, for families with children, hire Paula as a babysitter. It will seem weird at first (as it did our first year), but you'll see how amazing she is with the kids, and it will be worth it ($250 for the week! No better deal for babysitting). The kids love her, and she even calls them on their birthdays now. The villa itself is absolutely beautiful. The owner (Doug) just completed some renovations, and the place is truly deluxe. It is very family friendly. Toys/games/movies for kids. Plus, the pool area is fantastic, and separated by a staircase and a locked door, so young children can't accidentally make their way to the pool area without adult supervision. This year, we arrived a day early, and we reluctantly had to get a different villa in Montego Bay for a night before heading to Rendezvous. It was then that we realized just how special Rendezvous is. While the MB villa was very nice, it didn't even compare to Rendezvous. We agreed that had our MB villa been our first villa experience in Jamaica, we likely wouldn't be coming back every year, even thought it was a nice place. Finally, Doug (the owner) is very responsive and easy to work with. He gave us a lot of ideas and thoughts before our first trip there 4 years ago. I encourage anyone traveling to Jamaica to stay at Rendezvous Villa."

  • Wild Grape Villa and Staff were amazing!

"My husband and I travelled to Negril in January 2015. We stayed at the Wild Grape Villa, one of the three properties at Sea Grape Villas. I have nothing but excellent comments about this location. (1) prior to our trip, Marc (the owner of the property) was excellent in responding to all of my(many) questions. Ask him anything! (2) Our flight from Toronto to Montego Bay was significantly delayed. It was easy to contact Marc to let him know, so that he could advise the driver who picked us up at the airport. Donovan, the driver, was there waiting for us when we finally arrived. He was an excellent host and gave us useful information about the island during our ride. I left my passport in his vehicle, but didn't notice it was missing until our 2nd day. The staff at Sea Grape called Donovan to confirm that he was holding onto it for me until he drove us back to the airport at the end of our stay. I felt confident that it was in good hands. (2) Juicy (the cook) - Juicy is a sweet and wonderful man. He brought us delicious Jamaican coffee and toast with Jam each morning. Juicy also cooked two dinners for us. You MUST try the fish in ginger sauce. YUMMMM. Juicy also provided us with snorkelling gear so we could explore the ocean in our backyard! you MUST do this. (3) Christine (housekeeping) is a beautiful person inside and out. She made the place feel fresh each day. We talked about my braids and had a laugh. (4) Bentley (grounds-keeper) is very sweet. He would set up our lounge chairs each morning near the ocean, and bring them in at night. He always said hello and made you feel safe, knowing that he was watching the grounds. (5) The grounds of Sea Grape Villas is very lush, and private. The moment you enter the sea grapes gate, you are set apart from the busy streets of Negril. (6) There are mosquitos (at night), so be sure to bring OFF with a strong deet percentage. (7) My husband and I were looking for a private and romantic vacation - Wild Grape Villa was perfect. We even went skinny dipping in the ocean during our last two days. Very private. I think the staff could sense our need for privacy as well, as they were in and out quickly, respecting our alone time. (8) My husband, who was not an island vacationer (he prefers big cities) was very impressed with our villa. I think he's converted to the island way of life. :) we will definitely be back. Thank you Marc!"

  • A Real Jamaican Experience

"Wow! Where do I begin, right from the airport we were greeted by the driver Johnny, energetic, warm welcome after a very long day of travelling that was appreciated. Thanks Johnny. Upon our arrival at the villa we were greeted with another very warm welcome Miss Iris. Really this lady is amazing!! Just let her do the cooking.(but you can also do your own grilling if you want) We so enjoyed our morning coffees and conversations with Miss Iris, we learned so much about Jamaica we never would have heard of staying at a hotel. I highly recommend going to the market at least once, a wonderful cultural experience, and with Miss Iris guiding the way it was awesome. Curtis the gardener can name every plant in his garden that impressed me, he always had a smile on his face, and conversation. This quiet little street is filled with friendly people, by day 2 we knew our neighbours (the ones who work there) on both sides of the street. Once you get past the hawkers on the beach the people here really want you to have a good time and enjoy the island. We left with very fond memories and new found friendships. We toured some, not near enough so we will have to come back and pick up where we left off. We toured the Rose Hall that was great, if you want dinner out there's a great little restaurant in Whitter Village Centre, can get good food and a beer it's called the Coffee Crème Café, it's small but the Jamaican owners are friendly had a good time there . The Martha Brae River ride is a must do, the scenery is breathtaking!! Don't forget your camera. The Jamaican bobsled in Ocho Rios is totally fun.The only thing I would recommend PLEASE get some new cushions for all of the outdoor furniture. The seating in the TV area could be a more comfortable sofa, and a back scratcher would be really handy. The beds are really comfy!! My tip for people pack insect repellent with a higher deet content, and some relief medication for bites. Not that I had a problem with insect bites, but my husband did."

  • FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!

"Our stay at Oclam Lodge was unforgettable start to finish! The location was jaw-dropping, backing onto the the 18th green of the famous run away bay golf course & just a stones throw away from the paradise beach that is run away bay. The staff were incredible, everything was catered for, We took our 18th month year old & ms Sharon was an outstanding hostess & we felt more than comfortable. We've already booked our second vacation for February & we really couldn't recommend any higher 'FIVE STARS'... a real must Steve & Katie (UK)"
