  • Amazing Week at Half Moon!

"Our family had a fabulous week vacation at Half Moon in November. When we arrived at Half Moon, we were immediately taken back by the beauty of the home and its surroundings. The home has a really great layout that allowed everyone in our family to have a good amount of space, but it also felt cozy and warm at the same time. One of the best features of the house is the amazing ocean view. Our family definitely took advantage of relaxing outside on the porch with the soothing sounds of the ocean in the background. We also enjoyed exploring the island and experiencing Hope Town. The Locals in Hope Town are truly welcoming and made us feel at home for the week. We are definitely excited for our next family vacation at Half Moon!"

  • The Bailey family

"We come here every to year & twice when we can. We always stay at condos on Sapphire Beach Resort. This is the 1st time I have stayed in this unit & it is beautiful. You can't get any closer to the beach than this unit. The sound of the ocean every morning when you wake up is priceless. I highly recommend it! It's only minutes from Red Hook where all the restaurants, store's & ferry to St. John's are."

  • Unique and wonderful

"A certain adventuresome traveler will love this place. The view is fantastic. Wonderful. Great. The location is very rural, up the side of a small mountain, almost inaccessible, down a severely pot-holed road, and quite a far distance from the beach. Having said that, this place is great. It did take some getting used to that one entire side of the house is open to the elements--bats, lizards, and bugs come and go. (Bugs were not bad, though.) Mary and Pius, the caretaker and driver, were great. They know everyone in the area and they are your single greatest assurance that no one will mess with your stuff while you are away. Yes, I was a bit leery of leaving expensive electronics out on the counter with realistically no way to lock them away, but we had no problems. In this rural part of the island, you will see lots of birds. Roosters in the area will announce themselves early in the morning. Dogs will bark. If, in other words, you tend to like resorts, maybe this is not for you. On the other hand, if you like to submerge yourself in the local culture and slow down the pace of your life, this is for you. The actual house was very well maintained, and Mary kept everything spic and span. Pius was always available to drive us, which, given the condition of roads on the island, I strongly recommend."

  • the house at the corner of paradise and bliss

"My family and i stayed at the Royall Lyme for Thanksgiving 2014. We had never been to Harbor Island but my family has a tradition of going away for turkey day AND i was turning 40. So we decided that going to the island off the island off the island of Nassau was appropriate. Everything about the house and the island charmed our pants off. We were 6 total people including 2 young kids. The house and grounds were spectacular: lots of room; felt like our own little compound (cause it was), we had the pool heated and was a great post-beach option; not super-luxurious accommodations but felt very hutchinson island (which is all about understated luxury). There are wild roosters running around the island and the property which adds to the other worldliness of the place. All in all it felt like a fantastic fantasy island, where all the locals literally know all the other locals. 98% of people are super friendly. You will run into the stuck-up shop owner here and there (Blue Rooster) but that is quickly replaced with the charm you encounter everywhere else. And i have to say, I've never evert felt better, softer sand in my life. I stumbled upon this place online cause it was called the Nantucket of the Caribbean. And i heart Nantucket. They are both roll up your pant legs, get your feet sandy/dirty/wet. If you like the soul of nantucket vs the look at my yacht it's bigger than yours side of nantucket -then this is the island for you. It's a playground for people who live well but don't need to show off. Practical things to note: - the house is a stone's throw from where the water taxi drops you off. No need to take a cab when you get in. - Rock House takes itself way too seriously. Everywhere else was a better and more island-appropriate meal. - Sip Sip was fun and worth every penny. - Lunch at Coral Sands and Pink Sands was fun and fantastic - The island is $10 a gallon of organic milk and $30 lunch entree expensive - Low tide at the beach is God's gift to young kids. Perfect water. Perfect little bitty waves - Faye the housekeeper has a restaurant on friday-saturday that you should try - You can buy fish right off the dock when the guy comes back just before sunrise - Buy beer across the street from Queen Conch when sitting there to eat ($8 for 3 beers and 2 waters, best deal on the island)in the liquor store - From here you can walk to everything you'd want to walk to in town - no problem - you will want a cart though to get to the beach"

Mexican Caribbean Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to Mexican Caribbean Vacation Rentals

The primary airport on the Mexican Caribbean coast is in Cancun. Over the years, Cancun has become a vibrant resort vacation destination that is popular with international travelers. Cancun International Airport has regular daily flights with most major cities in the United States. There are also regular commercial flights to major European cities such as London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid. Many national air carriers from South America also have scheduled flights from cities such as Sao Paolo, Lima, Caracus and Bogota. Because of its good flight connections, Cancun often serves as a travel hub for European travelers visiting Central America and the Caribbean. Cancun has a state-of-the-art cruise port where many international cruise liners dock for a few days as part of their cruises. Guests disembark to enjoy the stunning beaches and excellent shopping opportunities in the region.

Best Time of Year to Travel to Mexican Caribbean Villas

Mexico's Caribbean coastline enjoys a warm tropical climate. There is little seasonal difference in the temperatures. The main seasonal difference is in the amount of rainfall that occurs and the resulting higher levels of humidity. The coastline is susceptible to tropical storms that sometimes blow through in the late summer months of August and September. This is traditionally the low tourist season. For all other times of the year, there is a consistent influx of travelers to Mexico's Caribbean coast. The peak travel season is often in December when the weather is a little more temperate and there are lower levels of humidity. The peak season often extends to April and includes the Easter vacation period.

Activities and Attractions at Mexican Caribbean Resort Rentals

Some of the main attractions on the Mexico Caribbean coastline are the many superb resorts that are concentrated there. Many of these resorts offer vacations on an all-inclusive basis where guests can enjoy a wide range of facilities and sporting activities. Water sports centers have windsurfers, sea kayaks, paddle skis, Jet Skis and boats available so guests can enjoy the warm tropical waters. Volleyball and racquetball sets are also set up on the beachfront. Tournaments and various other activities and excursions are frequently arranged by the resorts. Most of the resorts are concentrated in Cancun and on the nearby island of Cozumel.

This stretch of Mexico's coast is home to one of the world's largest barrier reefs. It extends from the top of the Yucatan Peninsula down the length of the country and then still further south to Belize and Guatemala. This reef provides excellent diving and has sites suitable for both novice and advanced divers. For those who prefer to snorkel, there are many sections of shallow reefs off the coast of Cancun and Cozumel where you can go on a snorkeling excursion. The area is also home to some of the most significant Mayan temples and ruins. Guided tours provide insight into the ancient Aztec culture and traditions. Many of the ruins are set amongst dense tropical foliage and just getting there is an adventure in itself. For travelers looking for a quieter vacation destination along the Mexican Caribbean coast, there are many smaller resorts further south along the coast
