  • Perfet for Family- 4 days to escape the Jan freeze!

"We were thrilled with the accommodations- it was perfect for 2 kids (ages 5, 7) and our niece who was 18! We loved the condo- very clean, tastefully decorated and spacious! All towels were provided as well as soap, dish soap, laundry detergent & coffee filters and TP (however, if you use up what is provided & need more, plan to get a 4 pack at wal-mart. Many of the public restrooms near public beaches do not have TP.) Check-in was a breeze and Adrianna was very helpful! We appreciated the GPS with some of the hot spots and favorites saved! Made getting around easy for us! Loiza is a great little area and please do not fear the "barrio" feeling- it is authentic and the folks are very nice! We did a lot of exploring and walked to Parrilla's for dinner twice! It was nice to share new cultures with our children- and they made friends with some children from Loiza! I encourage you to visit the local haunts in this town and experience the African culture! The security of Aquatika is second to none! They are friendly, do a superior job and always have a presence. I do have to say, the Management of the grounds did a great job- except the upkeep of the hot tubs. It is sad to think that the owners undoubtedly pay a hefty annual fee and for high use (and high demand items such as hot tubs and the water cannons) do not function. The gentleman that roamed the pool areas to make sure everyone was "legit" offered nothing but excuses or behaved as though he had no idea the hot tubs did not function. I do not hold the owner accountable for this. What I would LOVE TO SEE is the owners putting more pressure on the folks that run Aquatika to fund monies toward repairs and preventative maintenance of high use items! All in all- we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Adrianna's rental and would be happy to rent again! It is a great place to be- away from the San Juan congestion, but close enough to make a day trip to do a walking tour of Old San Juan or a quick drive to the El Yunque Rain Forest!"

  • Local immersion

"Throughly enjoyed our 8 days in sea glass cottage, you are completely immersed in a community that has existed for well over 200 years. You can walk the town in 20 to 30 minutes. The residents are very friendly and hard working, they and there families have carved out a living in a beautiful place for generations. The long dock is a great place to relax and on low tide conch shells can be picked up(and put back). The best beach is not far away, winding bay, marked with a tiny sign in the road that says " beach". Grocery store is a 3 minute walk. The cottage it self retains the original old world original charm, yet is beautiful and expertly decorated on the interior, never turned on the ac, really hard to describe how truly relaxing, fun, historical Cherokee Sound is. Locals night at Pete pub is a must...friendly characters from all over the world. Definitely rent a car from the airport for the week, only 350.00 to visit all the spots. The cab rides to and from the airport are 80 dollars plus tip, car is well advised. Ms Winnie Sawyer next door is an excellent cook and a life long resident. The water is shallow and kids would have no danger there. You will hate to leave!"

  • Clean & Convenient

"We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was conveniently located close to stores, restaurants, bars and the beach. It was a short $14 cab ride from the airport. The building itself was secure and in good repair. The apartment inside was clean and had everything we required for our stay including dishes, linens, towels, beach chairs and a cooler. Bill was very easy to deal with via email and telephone and did his best to answer any questions we had leading up to our stay. We would definitely stay here again and reccomend this apartment to others."

Mexican Caribbean Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to Mexican Caribbean Vacation Rentals

The primary airport on the Mexican Caribbean coast is in Cancun. Over the years, Cancun has become a vibrant resort vacation destination that is popular with international travelers. Cancun International Airport has regular daily flights with most major cities in the United States. There are also regular commercial flights to major European cities such as London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid. Many national air carriers from South America also have scheduled flights from cities such as Sao Paolo, Lima, Caracus and Bogota. Because of its good flight connections, Cancun often serves as a travel hub for European travelers visiting Central America and the Caribbean. Cancun has a state-of-the-art cruise port where many international cruise liners dock for a few days as part of their cruises. Guests disembark to enjoy the stunning beaches and excellent shopping opportunities in the region.

Best Time of Year to Travel to Mexican Caribbean Villas

Mexico's Caribbean coastline enjoys a warm tropical climate. There is little seasonal difference in the temperatures. The main seasonal difference is in the amount of rainfall that occurs and the resulting higher levels of humidity. The coastline is susceptible to tropical storms that sometimes blow through in the late summer months of August and September. This is traditionally the low tourist season. For all other times of the year, there is a consistent influx of travelers to Mexico's Caribbean coast. The peak travel season is often in December when the weather is a little more temperate and there are lower levels of humidity. The peak season often extends to April and includes the Easter vacation period.

Activities and Attractions at Mexican Caribbean Resort Rentals

Some of the main attractions on the Mexico Caribbean coastline are the many superb resorts that are concentrated there. Many of these resorts offer vacations on an all-inclusive basis where guests can enjoy a wide range of facilities and sporting activities. Water sports centers have windsurfers, sea kayaks, paddle skis, Jet Skis and boats available so guests can enjoy the warm tropical waters. Volleyball and racquetball sets are also set up on the beachfront. Tournaments and various other activities and excursions are frequently arranged by the resorts. Most of the resorts are concentrated in Cancun and on the nearby island of Cozumel.

This stretch of Mexico's coast is home to one of the world's largest barrier reefs. It extends from the top of the Yucatan Peninsula down the length of the country and then still further south to Belize and Guatemala. This reef provides excellent diving and has sites suitable for both novice and advanced divers. For those who prefer to snorkel, there are many sections of shallow reefs off the coast of Cancun and Cozumel where you can go on a snorkeling excursion. The area is also home to some of the most significant Mayan temples and ruins. Guided tours provide insight into the ancient Aztec culture and traditions. Many of the ruins are set amongst dense tropical foliage and just getting there is an adventure in itself. For travelers looking for a quieter vacation destination along the Mexican Caribbean coast, there are many smaller resorts further south along the coast
