  • great for a family of 8 plus a baby

"We had a great time at costa verde 3. The owner was very helpful and professional and the staff was fantastic. I would recommend eating at the house or the hotel restaurants in the off season as some other places are pretty slow in the summer. Bayahibe definitely worth a trip. kids loved riding ponies and rolling around on the golf course at night as the sun set."

  • Wonderful Peaceful Holiday

"We stayed at Mark's villa for two weeks and it has been the best holiday we have had in quite a while. The villa itself is in a peaceful location just outside Treasure Beach. The club house on the beach has a bedroom and bathroom which is cute and the fact that they wasn't aircon was not a problem. The staff were more than willing to help with anything you needed. Special thanks to Rambo for all the driving we had loads of trips out to see all sorts of attractions, Rum Factories, waterfalls, spa baths etc and trips into Treasure beach when we fancied a night our from the villa, and to Shaun for the wonderful meals just say what you would like and off Shaun goes and comes back with the receipts and all the ingredients for some wonderful meals, the best by far was the barbecued pork and seeing him club a tree to snap off the dead wood was a sight in itself. The communication with Mark was very easy and fast and the whole process was smooth and trouble free. I would highly recommend Great Escape. Julia Thornton and family. (husband, two grown children and their partners)."

  • Our home away home

"David, the owner was very accommodating and was very prompt in answering my texts and emails. He met us at the airport with keys and adventure suggestions. The condo in Marina Lanias was perfect for us during our vacation to PR. The condo was clean and pleasant. We love the ocean view from the 6th floor. It has everything you need for a great vacation including a kitchenette, working ac, comfy beds, and much more. We also really appreciate the security provided in the basement parking lot. We would recommend this place for anybody who is looking a great deal and an adventure!"

  • Beautiful Home - But…..

"Wonderful and spacious property, an oasis in itself. Stunning sunrise each day and the beach and tennis courts were lots of fun. However... We were a family of 11 - 4 grandparents, 3 kids, 2 college age, 1 couple. While we could see the bedrooms in the pictures, the actual layout is not really conducive for a party that needs multiple rooms for children. We found it hard to give each adult their own room (queen beds) and space the young children out since two of the bedrooms have entrances off the main house and require a walk via the driveway. This separation is great for adults/privacy but for kids its far less secure. Pay close attention - the twin beds are in the guest house. Unfortunately, grandmother had bugs in her room on 2 separate days. We have been to the islands many times and know to keep food, etc. out of the rooms. This was not the issue. Staff was attentive and responded quickly, but we had to move her out of her room and into the guest house after 2 days w a suitcase filled with ants, washing all her clothes twice, etc. The road into the home is not paved and made for rough driving in and out of the property. Add on 5-10 minutes for your trip to the supermarket and do not rent a nice car because it truly is like driving on the moon at some points, swallowing our 9 person van traveling at close to walking speed. Home is close to the marina for water craft rentals, and Provo Ponies for a great horseback riding adventure. Overall well appointed and situated but we have stayed in other homes on the island that offer the same where we have had better experiences."

Mexican Caribbean Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to Mexican Caribbean Vacation Rentals

The primary airport on the Mexican Caribbean coast is in Cancun. Over the years, Cancun has become a vibrant resort vacation destination that is popular with international travelers. Cancun International Airport has regular daily flights with most major cities in the United States. There are also regular commercial flights to major European cities such as London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid. Many national air carriers from South America also have scheduled flights from cities such as Sao Paolo, Lima, Caracus and Bogota. Because of its good flight connections, Cancun often serves as a travel hub for European travelers visiting Central America and the Caribbean. Cancun has a state-of-the-art cruise port where many international cruise liners dock for a few days as part of their cruises. Guests disembark to enjoy the stunning beaches and excellent shopping opportunities in the region.

Best Time of Year to Travel to Mexican Caribbean Villas

Mexico's Caribbean coastline enjoys a warm tropical climate. There is little seasonal difference in the temperatures. The main seasonal difference is in the amount of rainfall that occurs and the resulting higher levels of humidity. The coastline is susceptible to tropical storms that sometimes blow through in the late summer months of August and September. This is traditionally the low tourist season. For all other times of the year, there is a consistent influx of travelers to Mexico's Caribbean coast. The peak travel season is often in December when the weather is a little more temperate and there are lower levels of humidity. The peak season often extends to April and includes the Easter vacation period.

Activities and Attractions at Mexican Caribbean Resort Rentals

Some of the main attractions on the Mexico Caribbean coastline are the many superb resorts that are concentrated there. Many of these resorts offer vacations on an all-inclusive basis where guests can enjoy a wide range of facilities and sporting activities. Water sports centers have windsurfers, sea kayaks, paddle skis, Jet Skis and boats available so guests can enjoy the warm tropical waters. Volleyball and racquetball sets are also set up on the beachfront. Tournaments and various other activities and excursions are frequently arranged by the resorts. Most of the resorts are concentrated in Cancun and on the nearby island of Cozumel.

This stretch of Mexico's coast is home to one of the world's largest barrier reefs. It extends from the top of the Yucatan Peninsula down the length of the country and then still further south to Belize and Guatemala. This reef provides excellent diving and has sites suitable for both novice and advanced divers. For those who prefer to snorkel, there are many sections of shallow reefs off the coast of Cancun and Cozumel where you can go on a snorkeling excursion. The area is also home to some of the most significant Mayan temples and ruins. Guided tours provide insight into the ancient Aztec culture and traditions. Many of the ruins are set amongst dense tropical foliage and just getting there is an adventure in itself. For travelers looking for a quieter vacation destination along the Mexican Caribbean coast, there are many smaller resorts further south along the coast
