  • Great condo rental

"Rented Sapphire Delmar for my parent's 55 wedding anniversary trip. The condo was beautiful, well equipped, clean and has the best beach right out the back door. All of the staff and security were very friendly and helpful. My parents had a wonderful trip and a great stay at Sapphire del mar and I would recommend this condo unit to anyone. The beach is big and snorkeling right outside your back door you will find turtles and tons of tropical fish. Its close to Red Hook which has everything you need, restaurants, bars and shopping. See you next year."

  • Great Stay

"Location and privacy were amazing. Lovely cottage. Use of kayaks was great (could have had wheels/dolly to transport easier to water.) Enjoyed running around in golf cart. Would love to go back again. Beaches quiet and natural. Groceries limited, and expensive (take what you can with you!) No need to dress fancy, very casual on the island. Weather a bit rough and cool for first few days, then perfect for remainder of stay."

  • Paradise

"My husband and I recently stayed at Sun's Kiss for a week. We definitely agree with the other reviews about spectacular views, spacious apartment, great location, etc. In addition the landscape has beautiful tropical plants and flowers along with a water feature on the stone steps from the deck down to where you can park your car. One of my favorite things to do was to walk down to the water feature in the early morning. That is when many birds are coming there for much needed drinks of water. Antillean crested hummingbirds will dart by and sometimes hover close to you. You can get a great close up view and see the brilliant colors in their crests if the lighting is just right. Along with the hummingbirds there are banana-quits and Lesser Antillean bull finches. We were also lucky to have a mating pair of kestrels (sparrow hawks) that would hang out in a nearby tree. I especially loved the empty coconut shell hanging by our door that would miraculously be filled with flowers every morning. Gary is such a thoughtful host and I also enjoyed spending time with his mother, Charlette. We look forward to staying there whenever we return to St. John."

Mexican Caribbean Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to Mexican Caribbean Vacation Rentals

The primary airport on the Mexican Caribbean coast is in Cancun. Over the years, Cancun has become a vibrant resort vacation destination that is popular with international travelers. Cancun International Airport has regular daily flights with most major cities in the United States. There are also regular commercial flights to major European cities such as London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid. Many national air carriers from South America also have scheduled flights from cities such as Sao Paolo, Lima, Caracus and Bogota. Because of its good flight connections, Cancun often serves as a travel hub for European travelers visiting Central America and the Caribbean. Cancun has a state-of-the-art cruise port where many international cruise liners dock for a few days as part of their cruises. Guests disembark to enjoy the stunning beaches and excellent shopping opportunities in the region.

Best Time of Year to Travel to Mexican Caribbean Villas

Mexico's Caribbean coastline enjoys a warm tropical climate. There is little seasonal difference in the temperatures. The main seasonal difference is in the amount of rainfall that occurs and the resulting higher levels of humidity. The coastline is susceptible to tropical storms that sometimes blow through in the late summer months of August and September. This is traditionally the low tourist season. For all other times of the year, there is a consistent influx of travelers to Mexico's Caribbean coast. The peak travel season is often in December when the weather is a little more temperate and there are lower levels of humidity. The peak season often extends to April and includes the Easter vacation period.

Activities and Attractions at Mexican Caribbean Resort Rentals

Some of the main attractions on the Mexico Caribbean coastline are the many superb resorts that are concentrated there. Many of these resorts offer vacations on an all-inclusive basis where guests can enjoy a wide range of facilities and sporting activities. Water sports centers have windsurfers, sea kayaks, paddle skis, Jet Skis and boats available so guests can enjoy the warm tropical waters. Volleyball and racquetball sets are also set up on the beachfront. Tournaments and various other activities and excursions are frequently arranged by the resorts. Most of the resorts are concentrated in Cancun and on the nearby island of Cozumel.

This stretch of Mexico's coast is home to one of the world's largest barrier reefs. It extends from the top of the Yucatan Peninsula down the length of the country and then still further south to Belize and Guatemala. This reef provides excellent diving and has sites suitable for both novice and advanced divers. For those who prefer to snorkel, there are many sections of shallow reefs off the coast of Cancun and Cozumel where you can go on a snorkeling excursion. The area is also home to some of the most significant Mayan temples and ruins. Guided tours provide insight into the ancient Aztec culture and traditions. Many of the ruins are set amongst dense tropical foliage and just getting there is an adventure in itself. For travelers looking for a quieter vacation destination along the Mexican Caribbean coast, there are many smaller resorts further south along the coast
