"I can't recommend this place enough. Rooftop deck and balcony were awesome, actually even better than Craig's write up. There are two water views, an interesting feature. Location was great for all restaurants and beaches. The pool was beautiful, not large, but classy. Well kept, well furnished, well landscaped, well managed. Security over the top. Big enough for six easy, and ten if you squeezed, without renting basement apartment, so price is right for 2-3 couples."Guest: Steven F. "Beautiful well-maintained property with welcoming and accommodating staff. Spacious and roomy with washer/dryer and well-equipped kitchen. Walk right on to beach from large balcony! We loved having a glass of wine on the balcony while watching the sunset. Also loved the hammocks to lounge on while star gazing at night. Convenient location near Marriott which has Red Sail Sports for booking tours and water sports, if interested. Walking distance to grocery store, wine store and restaurants. Loved the ceviche at Agua. Also enjoyed dining alfresco with live music at Deckers nearby with a very local crowd at the bar. It was easy to book a taxi to go into town or elsewhere, or you can simply catch a bus on the main road. We did not have kids with us, but this beach is certainly kid friendly with calm clear clean water. There is decent snorkeling just outside the condo. Took catamaran tour to stingray city and then to coral reef for snorkeling which was fantastic. We recommend the early tours to avoid the strong afternoon sun. We highly recommend this condo and location, and hope to go back for a longer stay sometime!"Guest: Cherie T. Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 20, 2014View listing
"My wife and I recently stayed here for our honeymoon and couldn't have been happier with this particular unit! The listing and photos were accurate in reflecting the beauty and cleanliness of the rooms. There were plently of great restaurants and shopping nearby, and we loved being able to take a quick walk to Mango Reef for a drink, or to enjoy some amazing food. Elen was also very accomodating and is quick to reply if you have any questions during your stay. We will most definitely be back to visit the most amazing beaches you will ever see, and would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a great deal at a great location!"Guest: Nick Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 15, 2014View listing
"We stayed at Hummingbird Villa in 2012 and had a wonderful experience. Our 2013 vacation schedule didn't match up with the availability of the villa. We're pleased that this year we were able to enjoy a second visit. The relaxing atmosphere and view of Oyster Pond make this location ideal. Quiet, clean and comfortable describe what you'll find here. Christine and Skip are wonderful hosts, and their knowledge of the island is very helpful in narrowing down the many choices of activities and places to eat. We're already looking forward to next year!"Guest: Lane and Bridget Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: March 6, 2014View listing
Mexican Caribbean Travel Tips
Finding Your Way to Mexican Caribbean Vacation Rentals
The primary airport on the Mexican Caribbean coast is in Cancun. Over the years, Cancun has become a vibrant resort vacation destination that is popular with international travelers. Cancun International Airport has regular daily flights with most major cities in the United States. There are also regular commercial flights to major European cities such as London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid. Many national air carriers from South America also have scheduled flights from cities such as Sao Paolo, Lima, Caracus and Bogota. Because of its good flight connections, Cancun often serves as a travel hub for European travelers visiting Central America and the Caribbean. Cancun has a state-of-the-art cruise port where many international cruise liners dock for a few days as part of their cruises. Guests disembark to enjoy the stunning beaches and excellent shopping opportunities in the region.
Best Time of Year to Travel to Mexican Caribbean Villas
Mexico's Caribbean coastline enjoys a warm tropical climate. There is little seasonal difference in the temperatures. The main seasonal difference is in the amount of rainfall that occurs and the resulting higher levels of humidity. The coastline is susceptible to tropical storms that sometimes blow through in the late summer months of August and September. This is traditionally the low tourist season. For all other times of the year, there is a consistent influx of travelers to Mexico's Caribbean coast. The peak travel season is often in December when the weather is a little more temperate and there are lower levels of humidity. The peak season often extends to April and includes the Easter vacation period.
Activities and Attractions at Mexican Caribbean Resort Rentals
Some of the main attractions on the Mexico Caribbean coastline are the many superb resorts that are concentrated there. Many of these resorts offer vacations on an all-inclusive basis where guests can enjoy a wide range of facilities and sporting activities. Water sports centers have windsurfers, sea kayaks, paddle skis, Jet Skis and boats available so guests can enjoy the warm tropical waters. Volleyball and racquetball sets are also set up on the beachfront. Tournaments and various other activities and excursions are frequently arranged by the resorts. Most of the resorts are concentrated in Cancun and on the nearby island of Cozumel.
This stretch of Mexico's coast is home to one of the world's largest barrier reefs. It extends from the top of the Yucatan Peninsula down the length of the country and then still further south to Belize and Guatemala. This reef provides excellent diving and has sites suitable for both novice and advanced divers. For those who prefer to snorkel, there are many sections of shallow reefs off the coast of Cancun and Cozumel where you can go on a snorkeling excursion. The area is also home to some of the most significant Mayan temples and ruins. Guided tours provide insight into the ancient Aztec culture and traditions. Many of the ruins are set amongst dense tropical foliage and just getting there is an adventure in itself. For travelers looking for a quieter vacation destination along the Mexican Caribbean coast, there are many smaller resorts further south along the coast
