  • Perfection at Villa del Sol...

"Perfect...surreal...unreal...total bliss! There are no words to describe how amazingly wonderful our week at Villa del Sol in Providenciales was. Opening the front door to a glorious, unobstructed view of the most turquoise water in the world was unforgettable. Within 24 hours of arriving, I saw a double rainbow, a porpoise, fish jumping, and a perfect huge conch shell tumbling up on shore. I rented the house with my sister, mother and niece and so 3 generations of admittedly fussy women were in paradise. As soon as we crossed the threshold into the villa, we knew we had picked the right place. We all slipped into a natural, laid back routine every day of waking up early, beach combing, swimming, making pina coladas for lunch (!), more swimming, going for a drive to explore the island, having dinner, reading or watching a movie, and then sleeping like babies and waking up and doing it all over again. Renting the "Lady K" boat for a half-day cruise to Shell Island and Parrot Cay with Rico and Captain Tom was a high point of the week, if not my life! Just a 3-minute drive to Grace Bay shops and restaurants, but far enough away from the resorts to enjoy total beach privacy (we had one lovely family in the house next door and generally saw a total of just 3-5 other people on the beach the whole week!). The house and beach and pool and views are exactly as advertised, even better. I can assure you that the blue colors in the photos are not "enhanced" - the reality is even more astonishing than the pictures. The house itself is gorgeous, very well designed with perfect "flow," generous spaces everywhere, and perfectly equipped. We bought nothing but fresh foodstuffs at the nearby IGA, and Basia and Gail were kind enough to pre-stock the refrigerator so that everything was well-stocked upon arrival and all we had to do was settle in to gin and tonics and a dinner of grilled surf and turf! We felt incredibly pampered the entire time. Nothing didn't work; nothing was "not as advertised." Everything exceeded expectations, which is really rare these days. Renting a car and driving from the airport to Villa del Sol was a breeze - about 10 minutes straight down the Leeward Highway, and even I could handle driving on the left side of the road!:-). It's been tough coming back to the snow and ice of the Northeast U.S. We cannot stop talking about it. The most memorable holiday I've ever had. Highly, highly recommended."

  • The VEEEERY BEEEEST

"We just got back from our wonderful stay here at Terre Basse. The location is amazing and you would never have to leave except to get groceries!!. Very private views amazing, especially sunset. Sharlene was good about checking on us during our stay. We rented car to check out island. Best restaurants are on French side. The home was very comfy and had everything you would need at your finger tips. The only way you could improve is if you included us on your trip. This place is GREAT!!!!!"

  • Ontario, Canada

"We spent a most enjoyable month of March at this condo with sister and brother-in-law. It suited us to a tee, as we prepared most of our meals there. It is well equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed a lot of time (early mornings and later afternoons and evenings) on the roomy balcony with its excellent view and breeze. Xiaoming was very pleasant and extremely good at responding to our questions and any needs we had. We pointed out several things that needed attention and they were dealt with promptly. As you see in a previous response he is totally committed to ensuring this is a first-class rental opportunity. We highly recommend this condo to anyone wanting a great place in Fajardo. We enjoyed its proximity to many attractions such as Seven Seas and Luquillo Beaches, the Nature Reserve, El Yunque, Old San Juan, Catamaran Tours, as well as restaurants and grocery shopping at Econo and Ralphs. There also is a great fish market just up the road where we bought fresh grouper, snapper and lobster. Thanks Xiaoming for having us at your great vacation condo and for everything you did to make our stay there so enjoyable."

Mexican Caribbean Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to Mexican Caribbean Vacation Rentals

The primary airport on the Mexican Caribbean coast is in Cancun. Over the years, Cancun has become a vibrant resort vacation destination that is popular with international travelers. Cancun International Airport has regular daily flights with most major cities in the United States. There are also regular commercial flights to major European cities such as London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid. Many national air carriers from South America also have scheduled flights from cities such as Sao Paolo, Lima, Caracus and Bogota. Because of its good flight connections, Cancun often serves as a travel hub for European travelers visiting Central America and the Caribbean. Cancun has a state-of-the-art cruise port where many international cruise liners dock for a few days as part of their cruises. Guests disembark to enjoy the stunning beaches and excellent shopping opportunities in the region.

Best Time of Year to Travel to Mexican Caribbean Villas

Mexico's Caribbean coastline enjoys a warm tropical climate. There is little seasonal difference in the temperatures. The main seasonal difference is in the amount of rainfall that occurs and the resulting higher levels of humidity. The coastline is susceptible to tropical storms that sometimes blow through in the late summer months of August and September. This is traditionally the low tourist season. For all other times of the year, there is a consistent influx of travelers to Mexico's Caribbean coast. The peak travel season is often in December when the weather is a little more temperate and there are lower levels of humidity. The peak season often extends to April and includes the Easter vacation period.

Activities and Attractions at Mexican Caribbean Resort Rentals

Some of the main attractions on the Mexico Caribbean coastline are the many superb resorts that are concentrated there. Many of these resorts offer vacations on an all-inclusive basis where guests can enjoy a wide range of facilities and sporting activities. Water sports centers have windsurfers, sea kayaks, paddle skis, Jet Skis and boats available so guests can enjoy the warm tropical waters. Volleyball and racquetball sets are also set up on the beachfront. Tournaments and various other activities and excursions are frequently arranged by the resorts. Most of the resorts are concentrated in Cancun and on the nearby island of Cozumel.

This stretch of Mexico's coast is home to one of the world's largest barrier reefs. It extends from the top of the Yucatan Peninsula down the length of the country and then still further south to Belize and Guatemala. This reef provides excellent diving and has sites suitable for both novice and advanced divers. For those who prefer to snorkel, there are many sections of shallow reefs off the coast of Cancun and Cozumel where you can go on a snorkeling excursion. The area is also home to some of the most significant Mayan temples and ruins. Guided tours provide insight into the ancient Aztec culture and traditions. Many of the ruins are set amongst dense tropical foliage and just getting there is an adventure in itself. For travelers looking for a quieter vacation destination along the Mexican Caribbean coast, there are many smaller resorts further south along the coast
