  • "Memories for Days"

"When your looking for the perfect vacation for family and friends the first thing you do is read reviews and even when your writing one of your own. After reading some I don't think it's necessary for me to bore folks with a list of pro's and con's but rather try to relay to whomever is reading and looking...don't try to hard because you've found it here at Vida de Mar. We stayed here with one other couple after spending "Magical" week on a Yacht in the BVI's which in itself is a dream come true vacation. We were fortunate enough to spend another week in this beautiful beach front Villa and it will stay in my thoughts the rest of my days. Vida is quiet and private yet close to town and is everything you'd expect from a first class vacation stay. Our room was "Parrot Suite" It was beautifully decorated and a "cool retreat" with an amazing outdoor shower and a perfect place for a good nap...a sound sleep...or just some personal time after a day of exploring the Island or relaxing on a killer beach or dancing the night away at funky beach bars and restaurants. We really had everything we desired with all the comforts of home and if there was a con I really can't remember what it was. personally I spent many hours floating in the pool or relaxing in the "Zen Spa" with a cocktail listening to Island music or the waves below and cooking up something freshly caught from town on the Barbie... What a life!! I believe no matter how many folks you choose to come here with, you will enjoy the sanctuary of your room...the modern and tastefully decorated "great room" for your meals...party time and gatherings and the overall layout of this Villa. Booking was easy...the price was right..and these folks want you to have your dream vacation. Overall..as you can tell my wife and I had the vacation of a lifetime with great friends and "Memories for Days" We have not stopped talking about it since we returned home to Carmel, CA and now we just need to figure out how to return as soon as we can with more friends. I would not hesitate to choose Vida again...it has the Island flavor you are dreaming about."

  • So sad to leave ...

"We stayed at the Inside Out guest house for the month of April 2014 and were very sad to leave. Ellen and Stewart were awesome hosts - friendly, funny and helpful in so many ways that enabled us to get the most out of our trip to Grenada and experience the island culture. They were never intrusive, we had plenty of privacy and enjoyable chats with them. We enjoyed Ellen's curry night immensely as well as her selection of preserves some of which came home with us! Having a pay-as-you-go cell phone provided was a great plus for us. The accommodations were wonderful - the view is spectacular; sailboats, amazing sunsets and the twinkling lights of Grand Anse beach below. The pool was lovely and refreshing. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed cooking up breakfast and dinner with all the fresh local produce available in the grocery store and small fruit & veggie stands. There are two nice bathrooms with large tiled showers so we were able to have "his and her" bathrooms. As well there are two large wardrobes so we had plenty of room to store our belongings. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed seeing the lights of grand Anse beach through the window. Sleeping was no issue as it cooled off at night and the many windows allowed the breeze to blow through. Rose, the cleaning lady, did an excellent job of keeping the place spotless for us. Ellen has a separate washing machine for guests and it was heaven to hang our clothes on the line to dry. We wanted to get a lot of exercise while we were in Grenada so we did not rent a car - but that would be a good option. From the main road we often took the local bus/vans to explore and enjoyed it very much. Walking back up the hill is a workout and doing it later in the day is advisable. We took a taxi back up when we bought groceries at the fully equipped grocery store at spiceland mall - a short walk from the beach. Make sure you try the local cooking from the deli ! The walk down to the beach was very enjoyable - once you come to the main road if you turn right and walk a bit down the street past the post office there are steps leading down to the beautiful beach. We took the golf course hill route as it is less steep. Stewart and Ellen's dogs are very sweet and friendly. The property is fenced and gated and the stairs to the upper level are gated at the bottom so the dogs stay at the lower level. We loved our stay at Inside Out and the people of Grenada and were so sad to leave !"

  • Fabulous!

"My husband, mother & I spent 4 nights here and I wish it were a couple of weeks! The place is very nice and so relaxing. We snorkeled right out back and saw two lion fish, a baby manatee and lots of other fish! We would not hesitate to rent again from Teresa. Very good experience. Thank you so much Teresa!"

Mexican Caribbean Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to Mexican Caribbean Vacation Rentals

The primary airport on the Mexican Caribbean coast is in Cancun. Over the years, Cancun has become a vibrant resort vacation destination that is popular with international travelers. Cancun International Airport has regular daily flights with most major cities in the United States. There are also regular commercial flights to major European cities such as London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid. Many national air carriers from South America also have scheduled flights from cities such as Sao Paolo, Lima, Caracus and Bogota. Because of its good flight connections, Cancun often serves as a travel hub for European travelers visiting Central America and the Caribbean. Cancun has a state-of-the-art cruise port where many international cruise liners dock for a few days as part of their cruises. Guests disembark to enjoy the stunning beaches and excellent shopping opportunities in the region.

Best Time of Year to Travel to Mexican Caribbean Villas

Mexico's Caribbean coastline enjoys a warm tropical climate. There is little seasonal difference in the temperatures. The main seasonal difference is in the amount of rainfall that occurs and the resulting higher levels of humidity. The coastline is susceptible to tropical storms that sometimes blow through in the late summer months of August and September. This is traditionally the low tourist season. For all other times of the year, there is a consistent influx of travelers to Mexico's Caribbean coast. The peak travel season is often in December when the weather is a little more temperate and there are lower levels of humidity. The peak season often extends to April and includes the Easter vacation period.

Activities and Attractions at Mexican Caribbean Resort Rentals

Some of the main attractions on the Mexico Caribbean coastline are the many superb resorts that are concentrated there. Many of these resorts offer vacations on an all-inclusive basis where guests can enjoy a wide range of facilities and sporting activities. Water sports centers have windsurfers, sea kayaks, paddle skis, Jet Skis and boats available so guests can enjoy the warm tropical waters. Volleyball and racquetball sets are also set up on the beachfront. Tournaments and various other activities and excursions are frequently arranged by the resorts. Most of the resorts are concentrated in Cancun and on the nearby island of Cozumel.

This stretch of Mexico's coast is home to one of the world's largest barrier reefs. It extends from the top of the Yucatan Peninsula down the length of the country and then still further south to Belize and Guatemala. This reef provides excellent diving and has sites suitable for both novice and advanced divers. For those who prefer to snorkel, there are many sections of shallow reefs off the coast of Cancun and Cozumel where you can go on a snorkeling excursion. The area is also home to some of the most significant Mayan temples and ruins. Guided tours provide insight into the ancient Aztec culture and traditions. Many of the ruins are set amongst dense tropical foliage and just getting there is an adventure in itself. For travelers looking for a quieter vacation destination along the Mexican Caribbean coast, there are many smaller resorts further south along the coast
