  • Great place to stay for the best price

"7:21am Theresa Crain My family and I just returned from our vacation on Spanish Wells, Bahamas. This year we stayed in a rental called Western View and it was perfect! From the moment arrived, we were greeted by friendly locals at N. Eleuthra airport - Guerney and Calvin Pinder. They also took us by boat to Spanish Wells where we were greeted by our hostess, April Newbold! She was as friendly in person as she was during our conversations on face book! Since our cottage wasn't ready, April offered to store our belongings at her house and gave us her personal golf cart to use so we could enjoy the beach sooner than later! We were so happy to be back on the island and out kids were thrilled too! After a swim and sand castles, our rental was ready mid afternoon and upon our arrival, our luggage was waiting for us, and a lobster dinner was on the table (cooked by April)! Yummy! Although our rental was not located right on the beach, it was a five minute walk or a 2 minute golf cart ride. This 3 bedroom, fully equipped rental is the only one on the island that comes with a golf cart (approx. $250 per week) and a home made lobster dinner upon arrival :0) Although Spanish Wells is a quiet island, it is the perfect location for swimming, shelling, daily walks along the beach, sand castles, fishing, reading, relaxing and golf carting around town. Kathy's bakery has the best home made bread, the new restaurant, The ShipYard offers scrumptious meals and alcoholic beverages, Harbourside has wonderful gifts to buy and enjoy along with Boston whaler boat rentals (we rented a boat for a day and it was magical being out on the water and finding private cays and enjoying snorkeling), the Snack bar also offers delicious food and yummy ice cream, the new Smoothie bar offers a blend of refreshing drinks on hot days and Norma's Seaside Restaurant has good lunch items too! All in all, I would definitely recommend a vacation on Spanish Wells as well as the rental, Western View! It is everything you see and read about online and more! . ... Theresa Crain"

  • Beautiful property, directly on beach, perfect!

"You want to stay here. Hands down the most perfect location in NBBC. Directly on the only perfect stretch of this beach which is between two huge rock walls and really, it's your own, you will be likely the only people on it as we were. Walk right out of your huge open wall of doors into the sea, gorgeous clean sand, no rocks, no seaweed, crystal clear water. Let the waves lull you to sleep in your comfortable bed! For a rental, this place was incredible, every item you need, tons of towels, the furniture clean and comfortable. Plenty big for our family of 4. The entire back and side open up to let in the gorgeous sunshine, sea air and view. Oh did I mention the view? Anguilla to one side and Marigot and the mountains of the St. Martin the other. You have never seen a more beautiful sunrise. NBBC itself is quiet and close to everything, parking plentiful, people were friendly and the grounds well taken care of and lovely, the pools looked nice but we didn't use them due to our perfect beach. NBBC is gated with a guard and you can't get onto the beach without coming through the gates. We felt very safe here. Lots of local Europeans living in NBBC who keep their own apartments beautiful with flowers, etc. It's really magical. There is a little french cafe for bakery and espresso a few steps from NBBC, a grocery store and a some really nice restaurants also within walking distance. For all else you will need a car. We will always go back here. Sylvie (the owner) is beautiful as well. Friendly, helpful, checked on us to be sure everything was ok and became a dear friend. A perfect compliment to the villas and apartments she owns. She is truly concerned with having lovely rentals and keeping them nice and taking care of her renters. The microwave broke while we were there, we told her and went to dinner. When we returned, there was a new one. She owns other properties here which are also just as gorgeous, you absolutely cannot go wrong with any of them. Worth every penny and more, just let Sylvie help you choose the proper one for the size of your family/party. She knows what she is doing and wants you to be happy! This is a long review but I can't say enough about this place. I expected so much less and was blown away by what we got. I've stayed at a lot of rentals by owner and this is by far the best, especially for the price. If you want more info on this place from me ask Sylvie. I'm happy to share our experience and she can put you in touch with me."

  • Awesome property and great management !!

"I spent five days and this property and everything was beyond what I expected. This was my first time renting a home in the Caribbean. From the initial contact, working the property manager was very good experience. She was extraordinary in helping me through the process and was reachable during the entire stay. Transfers to and from the airport were arranged and were prompt and reliable. The house itself was very comfortable everything was as the pictures show. The house sits on a beautiful golf course but yet it is still peaceful enough to enjoy quiet time by the pool. The property is conveniently located walking distance from a nearby mall that has a grocery store, some boutique shops, and a well know chain restaurant. The golf club house also has a restaurant. The beaches are not far but I would suggest renting a vehicle to make accessing them more convenient. This rental is perfect for anyone that wants to stay away from the crowds at the resorts, but it centrally located were everything can be reached in a short drive. The only drawbacks I can mention are that there is a lot of new construction in the immediate area, which can at times get a bit noisy."

  • Seascape is Superb! Relaxing, Restorative, Fun, Beautiful.

"We live on Cape Cod, and after a grueling New England winter we wanted nothing more than to park ourselves somewhere warm with a sunset view and recharge our spent batteries. I was lucky to find Seascape on VRBO and after an inquiry got a quick response from Bill and Janis, who turned out to be our amazing, thoughtful hosts. From the moment we arrived in Cruz Bay our greeter/caretaker Dave put us at ease and led our way to Seascape. He carefully showed us around the villa and clued us in to all of the little nuance items that go along with any home you've never been in before (TV, wifi, hot tub tutorial, etc). If we had ever really needed anything I know Dave or Robin would have been there 100%, but the place was so wonderfully equipped and appointed that we never lacked for a thing. The villa itself superseded our expectations in every way. Magical setting with great privacy and garden, spectacular panoramic views, the pool and hot tub area are a "10", and an expansive tropical hardwood deck that wrapped around the entire property. The house is charming and spotless, comfy beds, tons of towels, great master bath. The guest cottage is also adorable and our parents made great use of it. We pretty much lived on the deck and alternated between grilling at night (fully equipped kitchen and the grill is great) and going into Cruz Bay for fine meals. We swam with sea turtles, explored ruins and generally had a fantastic time, but the highlight of each day was coming home to Seascape and sitting with "our" hummingbirds watching the sunsets. We've been fortunate to visit a lot of beautiful places but Seascape sits right at the top of the list for a tropical home-away-from-home. We can't wait to return and give it our highest rating. Thanks Bill, Janis, Dave and Robin! Jeff and Jeff"

Mexican Caribbean Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to Mexican Caribbean Vacation Rentals

The primary airport on the Mexican Caribbean coast is in Cancun. Over the years, Cancun has become a vibrant resort vacation destination that is popular with international travelers. Cancun International Airport has regular daily flights with most major cities in the United States. There are also regular commercial flights to major European cities such as London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid. Many national air carriers from South America also have scheduled flights from cities such as Sao Paolo, Lima, Caracus and Bogota. Because of its good flight connections, Cancun often serves as a travel hub for European travelers visiting Central America and the Caribbean. Cancun has a state-of-the-art cruise port where many international cruise liners dock for a few days as part of their cruises. Guests disembark to enjoy the stunning beaches and excellent shopping opportunities in the region.

Best Time of Year to Travel to Mexican Caribbean Villas

Mexico's Caribbean coastline enjoys a warm tropical climate. There is little seasonal difference in the temperatures. The main seasonal difference is in the amount of rainfall that occurs and the resulting higher levels of humidity. The coastline is susceptible to tropical storms that sometimes blow through in the late summer months of August and September. This is traditionally the low tourist season. For all other times of the year, there is a consistent influx of travelers to Mexico's Caribbean coast. The peak travel season is often in December when the weather is a little more temperate and there are lower levels of humidity. The peak season often extends to April and includes the Easter vacation period.

Activities and Attractions at Mexican Caribbean Resort Rentals

Some of the main attractions on the Mexico Caribbean coastline are the many superb resorts that are concentrated there. Many of these resorts offer vacations on an all-inclusive basis where guests can enjoy a wide range of facilities and sporting activities. Water sports centers have windsurfers, sea kayaks, paddle skis, Jet Skis and boats available so guests can enjoy the warm tropical waters. Volleyball and racquetball sets are also set up on the beachfront. Tournaments and various other activities and excursions are frequently arranged by the resorts. Most of the resorts are concentrated in Cancun and on the nearby island of Cozumel.

This stretch of Mexico's coast is home to one of the world's largest barrier reefs. It extends from the top of the Yucatan Peninsula down the length of the country and then still further south to Belize and Guatemala. This reef provides excellent diving and has sites suitable for both novice and advanced divers. For those who prefer to snorkel, there are many sections of shallow reefs off the coast of Cancun and Cozumel where you can go on a snorkeling excursion. The area is also home to some of the most significant Mayan temples and ruins. Guided tours provide insight into the ancient Aztec culture and traditions. Many of the ruins are set amongst dense tropical foliage and just getting there is an adventure in itself. For travelers looking for a quieter vacation destination along the Mexican Caribbean coast, there are many smaller resorts further south along the coast
