  • Worth it if you are on a budget.

"Great location for easy access to the beach. Most people head for Horseshoe Bay, but if you keep going left once you hit the beach, you will be treated to beautiful and secluded coves. If you go right, you will hit the Fairmont which is a decent place to get a beach side drink. The neighborhood felt very safe and it was fairly easy to get a cab (however, the numbers left on the dry erase board never answered or were unavailable after calling two days in a row so we ended up just walking to the street and hailing one as they passed). The bus is close by and easy to figure out and a great way to get around the island. People are extremely friendly and helpful, so don't be afraid to ask for directions to people you pass in the street or see around in the neighborhood. The WiFi fee is a bit more than 'nominal' at $100 which I think is steep, so make sure you have any information you need before arriving so you aren't relying on the internet to look information up. However, there are pamphlets and magazines about the island laying around that can be helpful. The kitchen had a horrible smell in it (a door separates the kitchen from the rest of the apartment, so as long as you aren't spending time in the kitchen, you will be fine) and the bed was extremely uncomfortable, but for the price, it was worth it. The water pressure was great and it was always hot and the AC worked well, and the everything was clean. They do provide airport pick up, but the fee they quoted us was a little bit higher than what we paid finding our own cab. When I first emailed inquiring about airport pick up I was told 'We offer round-trip airport transportation for $100' and then when I responded saying I would like it, I was informed "Given your return date, it may be slightly higher than $100 - possibly up to $150." I found this a bit ridiculous since my return date was known before the first quote, and they should have never told me that they offer it for $100 in the first place. Other than that, the Property Manager is great at responding to emails in a prompt manner and sends a lot of information. Overall, nice enough place for a couple or two close friends on a budget who are looking for some laid back beach time and don't mind traveling a bit to get to busier areas of the island."

  • Great place to wake up to

"My husband and I traveled staying in "Paradise" for a week with our little one in tow. The first morning we woke up to a beautiful sunrise and clear blue skies over the marina. The place was really quiet, and the neighbors were super friendly. The place was clean and comfortable. We made full use of the snorkel and beach chairs that our host so kindly left in the rental for use.The beach area was lots of fun with great activities or just to lounge. The location was great because it was just a stone throw from the ferries which travels to St. John, Tortorla. My husband jogged the beach and down the fill to the ferry doc several mornings. And if you every venture down to the Ferry docs there is a little eatery stand inside that sells the BEST I've ever tasted patties (there are two stands right next to each other the 1st is the absolute best in taste and service). There is so much to discover on the island and around the red hook location - one week just wasn't enough. Thanks Gary for your patience with me with all my questions - your answers were very helpful - I never got lost - not once LOL."

  • A wonderful place to relax!!!

"Our family of 4 spent great week between Christmas and New Year in this condo. From the time we entered it, we felt ourselves at home. The condo was clean and had everything a family might need. Good stock of kitchenware, plenty of sitting and sleeping places, 2 bathrooms, etc. We even used one of the good size charcoal grills in the pool area which were placed there for convenience of the tenants. The view from the balcony was just amazing! We had all breakfasts there watching the calm Caribbean sea and enjoying fresh pastries from the nearby bakeries. Our kids explored the clean sandy beaches as well as the pool on the property. The beach right outside of this property is very calm and best for swimming and relaxing. Within 3 minutes walk down the beach there are rocks where we collected a handful of colorful seaglass. But in case if you get bored just sitting on the calm beach, there are many places around to see. Beaches on the northern side of Rincon very often have crashing waves and as a result, attract a lot of surfers. Rincon also has a few bars and restaurants with good kitchen and some decent live music. We'd like to thank owner of this property for great communication and help in making our vacation an unforgettable event."

  • Rio Grande, PR Getaway

"Jorge and Wanda went above and beyond to insure that we had everything that we needed to have a relaxing week at their wonderful beach condo in Rio Grande . The refrigerator was fully stocked including a bottle of wine to enjoy with our dinner. It was not necessary to go to the grocery store after traveling all day. The location is great for morning walks on a secluded beach. We are going back in the future to enjoy more sights of PR and Jorge and Wanda 's beach condo."

Mexican Caribbean Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to Mexican Caribbean Vacation Rentals

The primary airport on the Mexican Caribbean coast is in Cancun. Over the years, Cancun has become a vibrant resort vacation destination that is popular with international travelers. Cancun International Airport has regular daily flights with most major cities in the United States. There are also regular commercial flights to major European cities such as London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid. Many national air carriers from South America also have scheduled flights from cities such as Sao Paolo, Lima, Caracus and Bogota. Because of its good flight connections, Cancun often serves as a travel hub for European travelers visiting Central America and the Caribbean. Cancun has a state-of-the-art cruise port where many international cruise liners dock for a few days as part of their cruises. Guests disembark to enjoy the stunning beaches and excellent shopping opportunities in the region.

Best Time of Year to Travel to Mexican Caribbean Villas

Mexico's Caribbean coastline enjoys a warm tropical climate. There is little seasonal difference in the temperatures. The main seasonal difference is in the amount of rainfall that occurs and the resulting higher levels of humidity. The coastline is susceptible to tropical storms that sometimes blow through in the late summer months of August and September. This is traditionally the low tourist season. For all other times of the year, there is a consistent influx of travelers to Mexico's Caribbean coast. The peak travel season is often in December when the weather is a little more temperate and there are lower levels of humidity. The peak season often extends to April and includes the Easter vacation period.

Activities and Attractions at Mexican Caribbean Resort Rentals

Some of the main attractions on the Mexico Caribbean coastline are the many superb resorts that are concentrated there. Many of these resorts offer vacations on an all-inclusive basis where guests can enjoy a wide range of facilities and sporting activities. Water sports centers have windsurfers, sea kayaks, paddle skis, Jet Skis and boats available so guests can enjoy the warm tropical waters. Volleyball and racquetball sets are also set up on the beachfront. Tournaments and various other activities and excursions are frequently arranged by the resorts. Most of the resorts are concentrated in Cancun and on the nearby island of Cozumel.

This stretch of Mexico's coast is home to one of the world's largest barrier reefs. It extends from the top of the Yucatan Peninsula down the length of the country and then still further south to Belize and Guatemala. This reef provides excellent diving and has sites suitable for both novice and advanced divers. For those who prefer to snorkel, there are many sections of shallow reefs off the coast of Cancun and Cozumel where you can go on a snorkeling excursion. The area is also home to some of the most significant Mayan temples and ruins. Guided tours provide insight into the ancient Aztec culture and traditions. Many of the ruins are set amongst dense tropical foliage and just getting there is an adventure in itself. For travelers looking for a quieter vacation destination along the Mexican Caribbean coast, there are many smaller resorts further south along the coast
