  • "Heaven on earth"

"Hi Ben and Cathy, Our 25th anniversary celebration was absolutely amazing. We couldn't have imagined a more relaxing 25th anniversary. The view, the snorkeling, and just plain relaxing kept us delighted the entire time. The property is incredible and the views breathtaking. As we renewed our vows on the little bench by the waters edge a perfect double rainbow formed from start to finish before our eyes. Dolphin Lookout actually exceeded all of our expectations. Simply heaven on earth. So looking forward to our next adventure in July 2015. Thanks for very much, Brian and Mary"

  • SIMPLY AMAZING

"Our family truly enjoyed our stay at Sunrise. We mostly appreciated the spectacular views. That is probably what we'll miss the most and tried never to take them for granted since they were always there. The house was quite spacious and very comfortable. It had everything we needed. There was a well stocked kitchen allowing us to make an awsome breakfast each morning. And there were plenty of beach chairs and towels as well as an umbrella. Driving on Calabash Boom was a concern on the first trip but we quickly adapted and found it to be part of what made Sunrise so special. The spot was so convenient to our favorite beach (Salt Pond), favorite hike (Rams Head), and restaurants in Coral Bay...Sweet Plantains is always our #1 choice. Thanks Mike for making our vacation in St John with our 2 teenagers a reality."

  • another fabulous month in paradise

"The Hideaway made my month in St. Thomas this year even more memorable. It's exactly as you see it, and what you can't see are the stars at night, the sunsets, the view from bed across the deck out to the Caribbean. And the quiet, the quiet nights (versus in town at Red Hook!). Just above Secret Harbour, good for a walk down and a swim every afternoon. Jan is a gracious hostess and will help in any way she can if you have any problems or questions. Or join her, she has a busy life, always up to something exciting, and enjoys company. She is always available of you need something. Property location is ideal, near Red Hook and the ferries to St. John and the BVI, restaurants and etc. Hated to leave. Already planning the next escape. I recommend a car on St. Thomas but actually you could do without at the Hideaway. Red Hook and Secret Harbour are close enough to be walkable even given the hills and the road widths. Just be prepared to step off into the bushes! Try the night kayaking at Marriott Frenchman's Cove (you would need a car) or new this year, at St. John Cruz Bay. Fish Tails in Red Hook always good too. Thanks again, Jan!"

  • Great location with an outstanding view

"We stayed at Miss Bea Haven over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time exploring St. Croix and relaxing at this gorgeous property. With very easy access to both Christiansted and the east end of the island, Miss Bea Haven offered a great location to explore the island. A few nearby grocery options made it easy to pick up food and make meals at the house (which is stocked with everything you need in the way of appliances). Though the bedroom had air conditioning, we enjoyed having the louvred windows open and night listening to the passing rain showers and enjoying the cool breezes. Overall, we would definitely recommend Miss Bea Haven and look forward to going back."

Netherlands Antilles Travel Tips

Best Time of Year to Visit Netherlands Antilles Vacation Rentals

The Netherlands Antilles are a group of islands located in the Caribbean. They enjoy a year-round warm tropical climate where the season is defined by the the amount of rain rather than the temperatures. There is little different between summer and winter except that in the summer months, there are higher levels of humidity and greater amounts of rainfall. Late summer is when tropical storms can blow through and this is therefore the low travel season. At other times of year, the islands enjoy a warm climate. The peak travel season is from December to April which coincides with the dry season. This conveniently coincides with the winter season of the northern hemisphere and is a welcome excuse for travelers from the United States, Canada and Europe to escape from the chilly winter temperatures back home.

Traveling to the Netherlands Antilles Villas

The Netherlands Antilles are made up of several islands. Each has its own international airport and good flight connections. Curacao, St. Maarten, Saba, Bonaire and St. Eustatius are the five islands. The airports on Curacao, St. Maarten and Bonaire are equipped to handle long-haul international flights and there are regular commercial arrivals from Amsterdam, Miami, Atlanta, New York City and Caracus in South America. The other islands have shorter runways which can accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. When traveling to one of the smaller islands, you can get regional flight connections. There are also ferry connections between St. Maarten and Saba that operate on a weekly basis.

Attractions and Activities near Netherlands Antilles Resort Rentals

Being tropical islands in the Caribeban, their primary attractions are the beautiful sandy beaches. If you do nothing else on your vacation, you can laze in the sun and enjoy the warm weather and stunning tropical scenery. When you want to cool off, you can g for a swim in the turquoise ocean that surrounds the islands. The islands have magnificent coral reefs and places like Saba are often considered some of the most elite dive sites of the world. Crystal-clear visibility, warm water temperatures, and gentle currents all combine to make for ideal diving conditions.

Rich coral reefs and walls are home to a myriad of reef fish. If you want to see the larger pelagic, you can do some big blue dives or explore the drop-offs. This is definitely a destination where you will want to have an advanced diving certification so you can get to enjoy the very best of the dive sites. Some of the shallower reefs and coral bommies can be enjoyed from the water's surface. Cruises and snorkeling excursions can take you out to the reefs where you can enjoy hours of snorkeling. Make sure you lather on loads of sunscreen when you go on a snorkeling excursion to avoid getting sunburned. On the islands, there are national parks and wildlife sanctuaries where you can go birdwatching and explore nature trails. Sailing is a popular pastime and cruise charters can be easily arranged.

Visitors to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in the Netherlands Antilles

The Netherland Antilles are generally considered more up-market destinations because they are quite remote and expensive. On the island, you will find predominantly European travelers from the Netherlands and France. The islands are becoming increasingly popular with travelers from North America, particularly those who have an interest in scuba diving. The world-class diving is probably one of the main attractions that draws travelers from around the globe. It is also a destination for those who enjoy beautiful beaches and pristine natural surroundings.
