  • A Great Vacation

"My friend and I rented this cottage and absolutely loved it. We loved that it was on the east end of the island, away from the tourist area yet close to Rum Point, the most awesome beach ever. Gary and Nadine were very cool and we had many laughs with them. There was plenty do to nearby, went to Rum Point everyday which was about 15 minutes away. The cottage was great, so cute and comfortable. We were very happy we had chosen to stay here...it really made us happy...we had such an increduble time and will definitely come back...just a few notes, not negatives..the staircase upstairs is fairly narrow and probably not good for "large adults"...the beach right out front of the place is beautiful, but not good for swimming as it's rocky and weedy..but like I said Rum Point is 15 minute drive...Over the edge is a great place to eat (on the way ro Rum Point)..the island is very easy to get around and driving on the left was no problem....this is a beautiful island and this cottage was a fabulous place to stay....so loved it.....the weather at the beginning of April was spectacular..."

  • Excellent!!

"Mango Tango felt like a second home. It is very comfortable, clean, beautiful, and dream-like. I HIGHLY recommend this gorgeous villa to anyone looking to stay in the Virgin Islands! You are constantly surrounded by amazing scenery and views and you will hardly want to leave to enjoy other parts of the island because you will be enjoying it all at the villa. Pictures just don't do the villa enough justice! It is far more beautiful than what you see in the pictures!! This is a home that I will definitely rent out again!"

  • Our second visit to Lighthouse and really ...

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our second visit to Lighthouse and really enjoyed our 6 weeks First visited SXM 1971 so seen many changes - most for the best. Now a bustling island, it features some of the finest beaches in Carib. and has very good infrastructure. Dependable utilites and services, very good provisioning from foods to medical, and some of the really fine restaurants especially the lovely small French family owned venues on French Side. Oyster PondBay has grown from 20 rooms in '71 to quite large complex complete with several fine restaurants and nice beaches. Yet not one of those "mega resorts" so can relax and not feel one is just "one in a crowd".. Lighthouse is spectacular! Will return."

  • 7 nights

"We just recently ended our stay at Amarilla Villa and the house is what made our vacation complete. Waking up each day to the sunrise and enjoying the hot tub in the evening were bookends to our day. We used the kitchen for all,of our meals except two evenings when we dined out. Our lunches were mostly spent on the beach with our pre-made thermos of rum punches. Overall, Amarilla is a great place to stay and well worth the money spent. If you want a house on the beach then be prepared to pay the big bucks. If you want a house with a fantastic view along with solitude then this is your choice. (If you have children they will require adult supervision with the pool and hot tub.)"

Netherlands Antilles Travel Tips

Best Time of Year to Visit Netherlands Antilles Vacation Rentals

The Netherlands Antilles are a group of islands located in the Caribbean. They enjoy a year-round warm tropical climate where the season is defined by the the amount of rain rather than the temperatures. There is little different between summer and winter except that in the summer months, there are higher levels of humidity and greater amounts of rainfall. Late summer is when tropical storms can blow through and this is therefore the low travel season. At other times of year, the islands enjoy a warm climate. The peak travel season is from December to April which coincides with the dry season. This conveniently coincides with the winter season of the northern hemisphere and is a welcome excuse for travelers from the United States, Canada and Europe to escape from the chilly winter temperatures back home.

Traveling to the Netherlands Antilles Villas

The Netherlands Antilles are made up of several islands. Each has its own international airport and good flight connections. Curacao, St. Maarten, Saba, Bonaire and St. Eustatius are the five islands. The airports on Curacao, St. Maarten and Bonaire are equipped to handle long-haul international flights and there are regular commercial arrivals from Amsterdam, Miami, Atlanta, New York City and Caracus in South America. The other islands have shorter runways which can accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. When traveling to one of the smaller islands, you can get regional flight connections. There are also ferry connections between St. Maarten and Saba that operate on a weekly basis.

Attractions and Activities near Netherlands Antilles Resort Rentals

Being tropical islands in the Caribeban, their primary attractions are the beautiful sandy beaches. If you do nothing else on your vacation, you can laze in the sun and enjoy the warm weather and stunning tropical scenery. When you want to cool off, you can g for a swim in the turquoise ocean that surrounds the islands. The islands have magnificent coral reefs and places like Saba are often considered some of the most elite dive sites of the world. Crystal-clear visibility, warm water temperatures, and gentle currents all combine to make for ideal diving conditions.

Rich coral reefs and walls are home to a myriad of reef fish. If you want to see the larger pelagic, you can do some big blue dives or explore the drop-offs. This is definitely a destination where you will want to have an advanced diving certification so you can get to enjoy the very best of the dive sites. Some of the shallower reefs and coral bommies can be enjoyed from the water's surface. Cruises and snorkeling excursions can take you out to the reefs where you can enjoy hours of snorkeling. Make sure you lather on loads of sunscreen when you go on a snorkeling excursion to avoid getting sunburned. On the islands, there are national parks and wildlife sanctuaries where you can go birdwatching and explore nature trails. Sailing is a popular pastime and cruise charters can be easily arranged.

Visitors to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in the Netherlands Antilles

The Netherland Antilles are generally considered more up-market destinations because they are quite remote and expensive. On the island, you will find predominantly European travelers from the Netherlands and France. The islands are becoming increasingly popular with travelers from North America, particularly those who have an interest in scuba diving. The world-class diving is probably one of the main attractions that draws travelers from around the globe. It is also a destination for those who enjoy beautiful beaches and pristine natural surroundings.
