  • Beautiful Outdoor Living

"We loved our stay at the Bigger Splash The outdoor living areas are gorgeous. We especially like the top sun deck and the beautiful pool. The location is ideal, you can see the Baths from the many balconies. Many beautiful beaches a very short distance away. Spanish Town is just 5 minutes away. The bedrooms were nice in size and comfortable. The pictures truly represent the villa, unlike other rentals I have stayed at. The kitchen is well stocked, with more gadgets and cooking utensils than you need. The den is perfect - large, wide open with high cathedral ceilings. The house does need some updating. The bathrooms and showers need some sprucing up, so does the kitchen. All in all, a great house."

  • Hummingbird has the best location on the Island!

"If you are traveling to the Island of Saba in the Dutch Caribbean, we highly recommend that you stay at Hummingbird Villa. Our group of 8 adventure seekers stayed for one week and our experience could not have been better! We arrived after dark from the Dawn II ferry ride to the warm welcome and embrace of Lika, the lovely and hospitable property manager. The villa was beautifully lit and stocked with supplies to get us through the evening and following Sunday when the food stores were closed. Everything was impeccable and clean as we were given a tour of the entire property and its amenities. Soon we were nestled in with rum drinks in hand enjoying the cool Caribbean breeze on the huge patio! We awoke to the most incredible views, sounds, and floral smells the following morning as we prepared for our first dives of the week! Sea Saba, a fantastic scuba dive outfit, arranged our pick-up at 8:45 so we had a leisurely morning with time to familiarize ourselves with all the luxuries of Hummingbird Villa. The kitchen was well stocked and we never lacked for anything during our stay. We were celebrating a milestone birthday so we hosted a small party with food catered by The Sea Witch Restaurant (highly recommend). The rest of our group who stayed nearby and the dive staff joined in the fun and the villa with its sprawling great room and patio handled the group beautifully! Aside from being a perfect villa, the location of Hummingbird can't be beat! There is a slight uphill walk to get into town but the good news is that after you have a nice meal and drinks or shop around, it is a short downhill walk home! Some other villas located up on Booby Hill had tremendously steep hikes home from town. At Hummingbird, we were amazed that in late August we were able to sleep with the windows open because the elevation and constant sea breeze were nice and cool. The sounds of the tree frogs, palms and surf far below lulled us to sleep! All in all, the island is a magical "other-world" that offers some of the best diving we have ever experienced! You feel like you are in a European village on a south pacific island. Saba is wonderfully diverse and gay friendly! If you spend the money on Hummingbird Villa you won't be disappointed. We certainly give it a solid 5 stars ++. Thanks Daniel and Lika!"

  • Great Studio, Great Location

"This studio is all you could need for a wonderful stay for two on St John! We were able to walk to all the shops/restaurants in town and could even enjoy happy hour cocktails from the studio balcony while we took in the beautiful Caribbean sunset each night. John was very nice to communicate with and responded promptly throughout the booking process. I will certainly stay again when I visit next."

  • Our home away home

"David, the owner was very accommodating and was very prompt in answering my texts and emails. He met us at the airport with keys and adventure suggestions. The condo in Marina Lanias was perfect for us during our vacation to PR. The condo was clean and pleasant. We love the ocean view from the 6th floor. It has everything you need for a great vacation including a kitchenette, working ac, comfy beds, and much more. We also really appreciate the security provided in the basement parking lot. We would recommend this place for anybody who is looking a great deal and an adventure!"

Netherlands Antilles Travel Tips

Best Time of Year to Visit Netherlands Antilles Vacation Rentals

The Netherlands Antilles are a group of islands located in the Caribbean. They enjoy a year-round warm tropical climate where the season is defined by the the amount of rain rather than the temperatures. There is little different between summer and winter except that in the summer months, there are higher levels of humidity and greater amounts of rainfall. Late summer is when tropical storms can blow through and this is therefore the low travel season. At other times of year, the islands enjoy a warm climate. The peak travel season is from December to April which coincides with the dry season. This conveniently coincides with the winter season of the northern hemisphere and is a welcome excuse for travelers from the United States, Canada and Europe to escape from the chilly winter temperatures back home.

Traveling to the Netherlands Antilles Villas

The Netherlands Antilles are made up of several islands. Each has its own international airport and good flight connections. Curacao, St. Maarten, Saba, Bonaire and St. Eustatius are the five islands. The airports on Curacao, St. Maarten and Bonaire are equipped to handle long-haul international flights and there are regular commercial arrivals from Amsterdam, Miami, Atlanta, New York City and Caracus in South America. The other islands have shorter runways which can accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. When traveling to one of the smaller islands, you can get regional flight connections. There are also ferry connections between St. Maarten and Saba that operate on a weekly basis.
