  • Me Hideaway

"Our stay was delightful! Each morning we awoke to a sunrise that was spectacular! Watching the haze rise up from the horizon and suddenly we would see Monserrat. Lots to see and do. The monkeys by the pool, the donkeys on the road up the mountain and the goats, sheep and chickens in town were a joy so unexpected. A true nugget in the Carribbean. So worth visiting. Food excellent. House lovely and comfy. Needed more time on the island."

  • Destination wedding in Nevis

"We made the trip to Nevis for our son's destination wedding. The best feature of Villa Esterel is the million dollar view. You can see the Caribbean Sea, St Kitts and Nevis Peakl from the property. The villa is well stocked and clean. Helene from Nevis Style Realty was very helpful in arranging taxis and water taxis for us and offered to help us with anything. The road to Fern Hill Estates is a bit of a challenge, but it was well worth it considering the privacy and the incredible view at the villa."

  • WOW...what a villa! PERFECT!

"We have been going to very nice island villas (each Spring)in the Caribbean for 10 years. I can honestly say that this home was the best of all! We loved the view which you could even see from the kitchen! WOW - It had everything and more! - soft sheets, comfy beds, a totally equipped gourmet kitchen, wi-fi, a vonage phone for U.S. calls, and so tastefully decorated! Nice to have the laundry so conveniently located on the main level, yet not in an intrusive space. Loved having an outdoor shower which we all used. We didn't watch T.V. much at all since it was in the back bedroom, but we were on vacation and nice to have a break from T.V. anyway. There were 5 of us there...4 girls, ( my sister and 2 nieces) and the only thing I would suggest would be 2 extra lawn chairs by the nice pool for laying out in the sun. No big deal, though! We used the pool floats. We loved the nice screened in dining room and my brother-in-law spent most of the week there relaxing and reading. We would all love to go back! Kay, the property manager was excellent! Nevis is to easy to get around and the locals were friendly, too! THANK YOU!"

Nevis Travel Tips

Making Your Way to Nevis Vacation Rentals

Nevis is a small tropical island in the Caribbean. The island has only a small airport which receives regional flights. It is not equipped to handle major international flights. When traveling from North America or Europe, your best connection hubs will be San Juan on Puerto Rico, Antigua, St. Maarten or St. Kitts. All these hubs have regular regional flights to Nevis. If routing via St. Kitts, you also have the option of traveling by sea ferry. The trip takes approximately 45 minutes from port to port. Taxis provide transport on the islands from the airport to the ferry terminal.

Once on the island, if you want to do some independent exploring, you can hire a car for the duration of your stay. You will need to validate your driver's license at the local police station before you will be able to hire a car. The island also has privately run bus service which operates as the main form of public transport. Buses run between all the main towns during the day, with schedules operating less frequently at night.

Best Season to Visit Nevis Villas

As a tropical island paradise, Nevis enjoys a year-round warm climate. This means that even in what is considered to be the winter season, you can still catch a tan. In general, most visitors choose to travel in the milder dry season as the rain showers are less frequent and the humidity is much lower. The peak travel season is between December and April. The summer months are typically wetter with sometimes extreme levels of humidity. Tropical storms sometimes blow across the islands between the months of June and October. This is generally considered the low travel season. If you want to avoid the crowds but still enjoy some good weather, you may consider traveling in May or November.

Things to See and Do from Your Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Nevis

If you would like to explore the island's cultural heritage, there are many historical landmarks and places of interest in the island. Just outside of Charlestown, you can see the ruins of the Hamilton Estate. This was once a flourishing sugar plantation. The ruins are covered with tropical foliage and their location provides great views over the city of Charlestown. The Museum of Nevis History is housed in a beautiful Georgian Building which was the birthplace of the Alexander Hamilton.
