  • Awesome Accommodations for a Budget Price!

"Having spent the first part of our stay in town in a rental with no hot water and very little natural light coming through the windows, we were more than happy with Zoni Breezes Upper. Hot water runs through the tap and the shower has great water pressure. Since the unit occupies the top floor, natural light is abundant--especially helped by the floor-to-ceiling windows in the dining room and living room. The unit is also very breezy. We opened the sliding glass doors as well as the bedroom windows and let the cross breeze do its work; we had no need for the A/C units in the kitchen and bedrooms. The rest of the unit is equally appointed with guests in mind--the beds are comfortable, the flat screen tv with Dish network has many, many channels, the refrigerator is nice and big, and the washing machine was very convenient. You get all of this and more for a very reasonable price! In fact, one night's lodging + car rental (also from Tom) was less than what we paid for a night in town. With the car (a Mitsubishi Montero), we were able to visit various beaches on the island. Since we are snorkelers, our main objective was to find good snorkeling. Our favorite spots turned out to be Tamarindo Beach (especially near the points) and Punta Soldado (go out near the big boulder on the left side). We saw turtles, stingrays, and lobsters at Tamarindo and a big grouper (we think) hiding near some rocks at Punta Soldado. Tom was very helpful in answering all of my questions before and during our stay. In addition, Rogelio, the manager, provided great tips on snorkeling spots and restaurants. We look forward to visiting Culebra again and staying at Zoni Breezes Upper!"

  • Exactly what we were looking for

"We stayed in the smaller house. Plenty of room for 4 including 2 teenagers. The house was in immaculate condition and was FULLY equipped. The view of the bay and St Thomas in the distance was spectacular. Having the kayaks was a big attraction and we used them a lot. Michelle met us at the Jeep rental and gave as a thorough orientation to the island, including a stop at the market and leading us to the house. We would stay here again and highly recommend this property. Everything on the island is an easy drive from the house and the breeze blows all day."

  • A Special Place to Enjoy 25th Anniversary

"My wife and I really enjoyed staying here because of the beautiful views at sunrise, throughout the day, and at sunset. It was more secluded than a lot of the options and provided a special sense on just the two of us in this amazing environment. Having lived only in the US midwest, knew nothing about marine life but we thoroughly enjoyed all of the days of snorkeling, especially at Carlos Rosario. My wife especially enjoyed relaxing on the beaches. We would hike to a beach like Brava or Resaca and be the sole spectators of the amazing beauty. Culebra has a "community" culture that was a refreshing complement to the beautiful surroundings. Not being a major tourist center in the Caribbean, it retains the blessing of locally-owned businesses that we really appreciated. If you are seeking a high-end vacation with homogeneous and pristine facilities then perhaps another island is the choice for you. The house was pleasant and our hosts were very kind and informative about the island. Whenever a need arose, they quickly found a solution. There were nice windows with screens to let in a cool breeze. The bed was comfortable, including memory foam or some similar material. Basic appliances and a grill were helpful for us to prepare an occasional romantic home dinner. The weather was nice there as usual. Time slowed down!"
