great location, well appointed, nice quality interior
"This unit is in a terrific condo complex located right on the beach facing the ocean. We really enjoyed the very large, clean pool too, since my husband and I swim laps for health reasons. This unit has nicely up-dated construction and furnishings. The owners have thought of every detail in this well appointed condo unit. We would choose it again!"

"The villa is located in a gated vacation rental community on the Wyndham Rio Mar Resort. The villa has a studio loft where two individuals can sleep (perfect for older/teenage children), a queen sized bed (very comfortable!), pull out couch, small kitchen and eating area. It has two air conditioning units that work great to keep the villa cool. The windows can also be opened to create a wonderful ocean cross breeze through the unit. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans and utensils that you will require. There are plenty of towels (both bathroom and beach) as well as some beach toys that you can use.
As a resident, you have full use of the beach club on the resort. You can walk there (10 minutes) or drive and park in the free parking. The water is beautiful and shallow and the beach is wide, clean and lined with palm trees. There are plenty of beach loungers and a bar on weekends. We took a long walk on the beach and found that you can continue for quite sometime in both directions. There are two pools that you have access to: one right beside the beach and the other right outside the villa doorsteps! Both are well maintained and beautiful. The pools and beach club have very convenient washroom and shower facilities.
Also, you have access to the rest of the Wyndham Rio Mar resort. The main resort has several restaurants, bars and a casino. It was a pleasant 20 minute stroll which was particularly nice at night. There is also paid parking at the resort if you prefer to drive. The resort gave excellent nightly entertainment options on those evenings that we didn't have anything planned.
Perhaps one of the best features of the resort was its location. It is just across the street from the entrance to the El Yunque Rainforest and Palmer (town with delicious coffee and great art for sale). Since the resort is located just off of Highway 3, it is about 30 minutes to Old San Juan, 30 minutes to Fajardo and the ferries and just 10 minutes to Luquillo and the kiosks (great place for a delicious lunch).
Another positive about the villa is how easy it was to communicate with the owner. I had a few questions regarding check in and internet use and the owner was very fast to respond and helpful throughout.
There are a few things to consider if you are thinking of renting the villa, however. There are quite a few steps leading into the villa itself so it may be a consideration if you have mobility issues or are travelling with small children."

"We are a family of five who stayed over four days after a cruise. We wanted something away from the party atmosphere of San Juan, and boy did we find it! We were here in the middle of September and we are pretty sure we were one of two condos that were occupied while we were there. We were there during the peak of hurricane season, so we knew there wouldn't be a crowd of people there, but wow! We had the pool to ourselves every time we went down.
We were only 30 minutes from the airport in Ceiba where we took a 15 minute flight to Culebra. We purchased airplane tickets on Air Flamenco the same day and only paid $45ish a person each way. We spent the day on Flamenco Beach and had a blast. A drive through El Yunque is a MUST. Leaving Rio Mar, an entrance is directly across Hwy 3. We only spent an hour or so driving through a couple of the falls and a climb up a tower with great views. A half or full day could be spent here hiking. Beautiful views and great scenery.
The food in the area is amazing. We were close to an Amigo grocery store and Walgreens - which is right across from our favorite place to have breakfast and lunch - La Familia Bakery 2. The pastries are great but the SANDWICHES are AWESOME. We also ventured to the Luquillo Kiosks, which were packed on the weekend and pretty cleared out (and only half were open) during the week. Cool experience. Great place to buy souvenirs, too. We ate dinner one night at Don Pepe's - at the entrance to Rio Mar from Hwy 3. DELICIOUS food and really fun, cozy and unique atmosphere, but be prepared to wait an hour and a half for your food. It's worth it though. The only "eh, it was okay" meal we had was in a restaurant in the hotel next door.
The view alone is worth the stay. The view from the balcony - watching the sunrises and sunsets - Amazing! We explored the area and found it to be absolutely stunning. The grounds are very well kept and so very tropical and lush. Xavier was more than accommodating before and after our stay. We didn't require assistance during our stay - everything was very well planned before our arrival! The condo was clean and met our needs. We didn't spend much time there, but we did watch a little TV, used the WiFi and both worked without issue. Xavier and his team were wonderful to work with and we'll certainly be back!"

"The house was simply amazing! My group and I were very satisfied with the house. Beautiful home, lots of space, big rooms, enough restrooms, great backyard, cool pool, it had it all. Couldn't have asked for a better home to stay in while my vacation in Puerto Rico. Great owners as well, friendly and understanding. Thank you for your help! I definitely recommend this home to anyone visiting San Juan :)"
