  • Wonderful Stay at #210607

"Six adults spent a week at this beautiful condo in the Marbella section of Palmas Del Mar. This third floor (there is an elevator in the complex) condo is beautiful, and has all amenities you will need. Kitchen is well equipped, full refrigerator with ice maker, towels for both shower and poolside use, boogie boards, washer and dryer to name just a few items. Two of the bedrooms have king sized beds. The third bedroom has two twin beds. They have a den with a pull out sofa as well. There are two balconies, one large off the living room/dining area and a second smaller one off the second bedroom. Both have spectacular views and wonderful breezes. We were there in February and never had a bug problem. There are two pools that with the Marbella section. One that is smaller and mostly shaded and another large, three level pool with plenty of comfortable chairs. Small round tables and large tables with umbrellas are also at these pools. There is no life guard, the pool doesn't get more than 4 feet deep. For children there is a Beach Club but can't use it on weekends or holidays. Monday thru Friday you can use it but there is a $15 per person fee. We were all adults and really didn't need or want to use this area. If you had children you would probably like it as it has a small water park area with slides. Note there is a beach bar and a restaurant at the Beach Club that you do not have to pay the fee to go too. The restaurant is Ok for a lunch and serves the same food at the beach bar which is right on the ocean. The beach area has been washed away a bit since last year so don't expect a long wide beach area. We did swim a lot in the ocean and it has firm sandy bottom and is shallow for quite a ways out. We had a lot of wave action while their and had a blast boogie boarding. If you have children you do have to be careful at times there was a strong undertow. We had a car so got around the Palmas complex by car but A LOT of people have golf cars and get around that way on the designated golf paths. There are at least 15 restaurants on site; some good some just OK. We enjoyed the Beer Garden restaurant near the plaza, and the Tapas restaurant and Chez Daniel on the other side of the marina. Since we had a car we ventured out several times to explore the island. We always felt safe. The Owners were great to work with patiently answering our questions. He also gave us his phone to call if problems while on site."

  • Great in every way

"We were a party of 7 middle aged adults, who spent a week at this property. This is by far the best rental we have had anywhere in the Caribbean in many years. Everything in the description of the property is correct, and the whole of it made for a great vacation. The house has many things going for it. It is very well designed in several ways. The bedrooms are spaced in such a way that there is great deal of privacy. The living areas are very spacious, and have a good flow in and out of the house. The kitchen is large and well-equipped, allowing for several people to prepare food together. The swimming pool is very nice, suitable for children as well as for doing laps. The garden is luscious and well-maintained. We enjoyed the Palmas del Mar beaches and facilities. We had two great dinners at the Chez Daniel restaurant, which serves superb food in a relaxed setting. We would recommend this villa very highly."

  • Holiday Haven

"Elaine From Boston Writes: Our extended family of 7 was enchanted by our lovely bungalow in Las Palmas. The property was justa s it was described and there was plenty of information supplied to operate the home. Every morning as each of us awoke we wandered out of our cool bedrooms and quietly started our day with coffee and our 'first breakfast' by the pool. We spent a lot of time lazing, reading and floating in that space, reconnecting and enjoying each others company. The Beach Club was well worth the $15 price of admission. With lots of space around the pools and bars we played Volleyball, Basketball and rode the water slides like we were kids again...and the beach and ocean waves were only a few paces away for the more adventurous. They gave us towels and put chairs wherever we wanted and there was enough shade under the palms or umbrellas. Don't miss Old San Juan for some local culture and great food. The fort has spectacular views for photo ops and the colorful old buildings are charming. We ate at The Parrot Club and had wonderful Mojitos and local fare. The guys even stopped into a cigar shop for some moonshine and smokes! We did venture off to Loquillo for a day and enjoyed the beach there too. Especially the Kiosks and restaurants on the beach. But mostly the charming Villa Familia was all we needed to unwind and reconnect. It has everything you need. I highly reccomend this property"

  • Always nice to be back in Palmas

"The Marbella Club is easily the most beautiful location within Palmas Del Mar. When we arrived at Marbella we were greeted by a very friendly and courteous guard at the gate. We always received a courteous and efficient service from all of them. Check-in process was very smooth. Parking is under ground - a plus, as the sun always hits hard in Puerto Rico, and even harder during the summer months. This unit is very comfortable and in perfect condition. It has all the amenities you need to make things easy and relaxed. The Marbella Club complex has two pools and a jacuzzi. The pool closer to the building where we stayed (the Dragon's pool) is the smaller one. Although both are good pools, the Dragon's tended to be less crowded and, consequently, stayed cleaner. You can have a very enjoyable time in this pool. During our stay, the beach was rough, and in fact, the red flags were up a couple of days, meaning an alert for strong currents. If you are careful, or in days when the sea is calmer, you can go in and spend a very relaxing time in the ocean. The view is fantastic! Overall, this area is fantastic for photography. If you like to wake up early in the morning, you can witness fantastic views of the sunrise. During a clear day, you can see Vieques Island in the distance. Palm trees, the ocean view, sunrises, clear starry nights (you can even see the Milky Way stars!)... this place is just beautiful! Puerto Rico is a beautiful island with MANY places to visit and things to do. The owners has information (inside a basket in the kitchen) about things to do and places to visit. We were pleased with dinners we had at Bistro Rico Rest. (at the Marina) and the restaurant at the Golf Club House (Chef Gaby did a good job!). We enjoyed being there and visit with some friends that are permanent residents of Palmas. Our only regret was not to have had the Club passes ahead of time and having to limit our outdoor activities for one day due to the passing of a tropical storm. We definitely recommend this property and Palmas del Mar. You can make it as relaxing and peaceful or as active and adventurous as you want."
